FP plus exec gone, how many more will follow?

How's that going to work out...?

What's the first line on his Resume Cover Letter going to be:

"If you like your Infrastructure Projects 1.5 billion dollars over budget, 2 years behind schedule, and like to roll it out to your customers before it's ready so you can get a big kick out of all of their pain as their reservations disappear into the ether..... I'm your man!!"

Good luck

It depends. If the hiring company is used to being $2b over and 5 years behind schedule, this guy could be an improvement.

Although Disney executives have been hesitant to discuss MyMagic+'s financial performance, they say Disney World visitors are embracing the technology. The company's chief financial officer, Jay Rasulo, told analysts recently that more than 75 percent of guests staying in Disney-owned hotels are now reserving ride times ahead of their trips, as are more than 25 percent of day visitors.

Can this be right? I know I predicted in November that getting non-FPers to embrace the feature would be tough sledding (which would result in plenty of FPs to go around for those that wanted them), but only 25% for offsiters?

Gotta be something wrong with that report. Maybe the "recent" quote was from sometime during rollout.

If you get wind of which company that is, I'll blow the dust off of the ole resume, fire up PowerPoint, and get some brand new whiteboard pens...!!!

The article says he left by his own choice and that he's not physically leaving until July. If he was "let go" or "forced to resign", don't you think he'd be going a lot sooner than July?

I don't understand why everyone assumes that Disney forced him out because they're not happy with him.

Almost every single statement released from Disney has said that the reaction to MM+ and FP+ is overwhelmingly positive in their eyes. Whether we think that or not, that's the message Disney is projecting.

The same few who whine about everything FP+ are here to tell us that this guy was run off and might as well kill himself now, his future is so bleak. :upsidedow

You clearly don't work in similar type if companies. This is a very frequent occurance. It's less common for someone to stick around that long in this field. Wouldn't be surprised at all after such a large project rolled out to move on.

LOL "Clearly"? I'm not going to give too many details of my life out on the DISboards, but I am well acquainted with how executive structures work ;)

Probably need a track record of opening up and developing global markets with an emphasis on Asia.

Don't forget to play some buzzword bingo right before the interview. Gotta keep the tongue sharp.

:)
Nothing a carefully crafted resume can't fix.....
and a shiny ppt deck with lots of graphs pointing up and charts with big percentages is often substituted for actual experience.

Death is a little extreme. Maybe they should just force him to work the desk in GR for the summer season until he repents. Although that may make him want to kill himself.

If you read Business Week, several weeks ago there was an article that included customer complaints (all aspects) of FP+ which, likely, added to the reasons the bozo was fired.

Didn't read the article but I believe the technical glitches at customer level would be his biggest problem. There have been at least a handful of nightmare scenarios in this arena. Also smaller glitches start to add up over time. I know some still say it is the "testing" phase but if you look back testing arguably started last January or February. Major testing started around August. Many times they were caught not ready for the glitches many months into the test.
That said the bottomline (assuming he was forced to resign) is the bottomline. If Disney is making money on this venture and they see in the future they will then he stays. If they are seeing short or long term monetary losses then he will be let go.

Now as far the the OP with the question of how many more, Iger is safe. Like or dislike him the Company profits have been pretty solid even holding its own during a recession. The head of Theme Parks appears to have the mission/goal of expanding globally. That will be their emphasis. President of WDW could be in trouble but there are lots of variables even for this individual.

And the same people who only post to declare that FP plus is the greatest thing since sliced bread or to defend Disney against any other criticism are saying the guy resigned to parties and balloons and was given a CEO position at a different fortune 500 company that wants to improve its tech tracking. It's almost like people are being paid to post positive things about companies on the internet these days.

Hopefully none. We LOVE FP+!

Lol...I agree....I hated the thought of FP+ but after using it in December and during Spring Break we love it. But around here if you say you like FP+ everyone thinks you're some kind of idiot lol.

I have not read that anywhere - or anything close.

There are some poeple who simply cannot stomach this kind of thread - where people who know nothing about the person or his reasons for leaving decide to paint him with a negative brush and make every type of negative assumption possible about his reasons for leaving simply because they did not approve of one of his projects.

It is evil behavior.

I just love how the average Joe thinks they know more about business then the people in the business! :lmao:

Um..... that might be considered by some to be a fate worse than death. :faint:

He tried, but he couldn't get a FP+ for the bus out of town until then.

That's ok. I kind of feel that way about the complainers :rotfl2:
