inhave 10 day park hoppers and FP all selected. Staying at bwv. Thinking of changing resorts but for less days

Would I still keep my 10 days of pen hoppers or only number of days at hotel not ticket? Currently checking in 4/2 so outside 30 day window. Just don't want to lose fp

Both the room and the FP's are linked to your ticket, but, it's the number of days that you have available on your ticket that drives the FP availability. If you set them up for 10 days (or whatever) and you spent the last 4 days living in a cardboard box it will or should not effect your FP selections. It records only what you are setting up with Disney, not what other plans you might have for lodging.

I'm pretty sure that is how this works. If anyone has any different knowledge, please feel free to correct me.

The PP is correct. FPs are based on ticket entitlements.

Do you have room-only plus active tickets? Or, did you book a package: room combined with tickets.

If you cancel a package, you may lose your FPs because the tickets in the package become active on your check-in day - they are not separate. So canceling a package not only cancels the room, it also cancels the tickets and subsequently, the FPs - there may be a grace period of a day to book another onsite reservation and not lose your FPs but not too many have reported that.

As PP said, if your tickets are part of a package, then there is a risk that canceling and rebooking your hotel reservation may cancel and lose your FP reservations.

If you have tickets separate from a package, then that shouldn't be a problem. However, I am not sure what would happen if you had FP ressies 60 days out because you are onsite (with non-package tickets), then you canceled the onsite ressies (but still had the tickets). Would your FPs be lost? I don't know.

In any case it is probably worth calling before switching your hotel reservation.

Would your FPs be lost? I don't know.
With separate tickets, the FPs are not lost, they just get frozen in place. The FPs can then only be manipulated/modified, etc. when within the 30-day FP booking window.

How "active" tickets work within the FP system is fascinating!
