FP+ is now completely worthless if you are staying offsite.

7DMT and Anna and Elsa are hard to get even at the 60 day mark, and I wouldn't consider some of the still available rides, like the mountains, "scraps." I'd pick those over the parades any day.

From what I understand, Disney is being sued by some in the Autistic community for Breach of Contract. Specifically, "through acquisition of Disney tickets, [you] entered into a contract through which Disney promised to provide a reasonable and enjoyable amusement park experience".

It would seem that this same complaint that the Autistic plaintiffs are arguing in the court could be applied in this blatant discrimination by Disney when it comes to offsite vs. onsite superiority.

Where on the ticket does it guarantee a "reasonable and enjoyable amusement park experience"?

It doesn't but that is one of the arguments that the lawyers are making in the Disney Austism ADA Lawsuit. I wouldn't doubt if some lawyer crawled out of the woodwork to use this same reasoning when it comes to the discriminatory practices by Disney when it comes to offsite vs. onsite privileges.

Leaving today. Have been checking almost daily since my window opened and no enchanted tales, a&e or 7dmt ever opened up. We're just going to try to ride these at RD and Halloween party.

At the 10/13 Halloween party, the line for the 7DMT never dipped under 40 minutes, even at 11pm. It was 60 minutes most of the night.

Big surprise. Really. OMG I didn't see this coming at all!!!!! Its my 30 day window, I sign in for my fast pass selections at midnight eastern time, but lo and behold everything good has "ended for the day".
This includes:
1. 7DMT
2. Meet and Greet with Anna and Elsa
3. Enchanted Tales with Belle
4. Main Street Electrical Parade
5. Festival of Fantasy Parade

So basically, unless you stay onsite, you will not get fast passes to anything really good, because the onsite peeps with their 60 day window get to pick and choose first. So now, after 9 years of multiple Disney trips a year, I am left with the left overs.

Later baby. This is our last Disney trip. It was fun. Now it just sucks, and its a waste of money. Maybe we will manage to receive some leftover scraps and my daughter will be able to meet Anna and Elsa at the Christmas party or something.

Just because you are staying onsite doesn't mean you are guarantee those FP. We are staying onsite and at the 60 day mark I couldn't get FP for 7MDT or anna and elsa.

FASTPASSES are a tool to reduce wait times, not a protected constitutional right.

Imagine if we could go back in time to pre-fastpass days, and tell ourselves "listen, down the road you will get 3 FREE fastpasses for near instant ride access to 3 major attractions every day, but you will hate it because you can't get exactly what you want every single time"

Haha.

The thing I'm not liking about it is how it is making rides that were always short into long waits. PotC for one. There are others but you get my point. I'm less likely to want to ride that now because it just isn't worth a 45 minute wait to me. ON the old system I never waited longer than 20 minutes all day long. FP+ changes all that now.

Agreed - I have been trying every day since the 60 day mark (currently 25 left to go) and no go for either. So far I am not liking this part of the changes to the fastpass system

Somebody will always try to sue about something so you're probably correct in your thinking.

And why wouldn't you get a fp+ for that? It's a good choice for a sdfp. It's also a good choice to ride early in the morning while the crowd is at 7dmt.

I stayed onsite, but moved my trip up so that I had two weeks to make my FP selections. Of the things I wanted, the only one not available was Mine Train. (I didn't want A&E, but that wasn't available either). I don't know about parades and fireworks, as I am happy to walk into a crowd to watch at the last minute. I had no trouble getting times I wanted for the mountains or other e-ticket rides.

My fastpasses will be for the mountains every time. I don't consider most of the other rides fastpass worthy. Just my opinion and nothing more.

Now, if I am lucky enough to procure a fourth and fifth pass, then I will look to other rides but my family always wants the mountains.

This is not discriminatory. This is a company rewarding its top customers. All companies do it; not just Disney. You pay more, you get more. And IMO the rewards should be greater.

Correct. Plus let's keep in mind that people staying in on-site resorts is key to disney financial future. So we want the resorts full, the park full, etc. this makes more money for attractions and expansion. (Waiting for a comment about how it's just greed or something, because you know, I go to work for free too)

pixiedust: Welcome to both of you BUT I believe the poster ( Abdul ) was saying he wouldn't be surprised if a lawyer crawled out of the woodwork to try and say that. I agreed with him on that. So many are " sue happy".

The things that lawyers will sue for never surprise me.

This x 10!

I totally support that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I really struggle with understanding the level of dissatisfaction with FP+. Have we become a society so expecting of instant gratification that most people can no longer stand in a line without it ruining their life? Seriously people, it's an amusement park, there have been and always will be lines. Not getting a FP doesn't ruin a trip, it just means you will need to wait in a line if it's something you really want to do. Am I ever happy that I have a kid who has the patience to wait an hour (sometimes more for something he really wants) without an issue.

If you really dislike lines, then use the FP+ you can get to your advantage. Plan ahead to hit a headliner that you can't get a FP for at a time with the least wait (i.e. rope drop or late night) and be done with it.

Yes, I meant as a 4th fp. It shouldn't be that hard to get get 4th and 5th at MK.

The only posts I see making comments about fp+ ruining their life are ones like this hyperbolic one.

I also don't think that many of those who dislike fp+ dislike it because of lines...pretty sure most everyone here realizes lines are inevitable at a theme park.

I think it has a lot more to do with people feeling like they are spending more, as Disney raises prices every year and sometimes 2x/year, and are now getting a lesser experience in their opinion. What constitutes a lesser experience is obviously dependent on the individual person.

For myself, planning is now a more complicated experience, and one I did not enjoy this time. I dislike thr level of.planning fp+ entails. I'm completely open to liking how it works once I'm in the park...we will see how that goes next month, but a great experience in the park won't change my dislike of the increase in planning beforehand..just mitigate it and make the annoyance of the preplanning worthwhile.

Are people really arguing about if Disney or Universal is cheaper? You can get a season pass to Universal for less than 5 days admission to Disney. Heck, if you don't care about the blockout dates (which I wouldn't because I wouldn't want to go there anyway), you can get a season pass for about the same price as TWO days at Disney.

You have to come up with some pretty specific scenarios to make a Disney trip cheaper.
