Okay, so we are definitely NOT RD folks! If I can get my crew to a park by 11AM, I am feeling good! So, I have been reading a bunch about FP+ and trying to make a plan. Here is my thought--If I am going to go to EPCOT, and want to do both Soarin' and TT, could I book three FPs around 9,10, and 11 with the full intent of NOT using the first 2 (say, I book Spaceship Earth and Journey into the Imagination) and then have Soarin' as my 11--would it be likely that I would be able to add my 4th FP and get TT sometime in the afternoon, and then add-on one by one from there? Just wondering if this would be a way for us late-risers to handle the tier 1 issue. Thoughts?

In theory yes, however in practice you have to go to the FP+ people and it comes down to them. Once they wouldn't let us book a second tier 1 until we had rebooked and used our 2 tier 2 FP+

Hmmmm, so if you let your second tiers expire, your option is to go back and get those two done before booking a 4th? Bummer. There goes my plan. . .

Not necessarily. Book your tier one for the time you plan to arrive at the park and you two tier two rides just after. Ride your tier one ride then use the app to move the next tier two up instead of waiting. Ride the tier two and the move the second tier two up. You can get through all three FP+ pretty quick if there is availability to move the tier two around. I haven't found that to be an issue at Epcot for tier two attractions most of the time.

My family won't wake up early either but I've scheduled all FP starting at 10am and plan on using them. I'm hoping to hit the last one at the start time and get my 4th closer to noon. Hopefully there's still some tier 1 passes available. You could schedule the first one at 10 and show up at the late side of the window.
Worst case scenario you wait in line for soarin' or TT.

Bite your tongue! Wait in line?? :rotfl2:

It is funny what you get used to. Last year, I was in the test phase of FP+ AND got to use my TTTW card for the FP-. Talk about NOT waiting in lines! That was great. Thanks for all the great advice!

Actually just got back from a trip with no rope drops. FP+ makes it doable. Here's what I'd suggest for each park.

To adress your question with Epcot, make dummy FP+s for 9-10 and 10-11 then make one for Soarin' that starts between 11 and 11:30. This is one of the two days of your trip you should try to be at the park no later than 11:30am. Perhaps making a breakfast ADR at Akershus for 10:15am or doing a QS breakfast in the room would push you guys to move a bit quicker in the morning. If you do that, you might just be able to get a TT FP+ for your group (we were able to) but you've got to move quickly. If something goes wrong and you can't get a TT FP+, use the single rider line as your back-up plan but if you're in Epcot by 11:30, you should be fine.

A similar situation is found at DHS. Make two dummy FP+s for 9-10 and 10-11 then make one for Toy Story Mania! that starts between 11 and 11:30. This is the other day you'll want to be at the park no later than 11:30am. If you do this, you should be able to get a FP+ for RnR at one of the kiosks and go standby for ToT, which shouldn't be too long before noon or after 4pm. Another option is scheduling your ToT FP+ at 10:30 to 11:30 then your TSM from 11:30 to 12:30 and arriving at 11am and you can do both. Either scenario should work but just try to have that RnR FP+ in hand by noon.

Arriving late is much easier at MK and DAK. Choose FP+s for 12:30 to 1:30, 1:30 to 2:30, and 2:30 to 3:30 then try to see what other FP+s you can get for later in the day. This should work at both parks, but be sure to stick around until park close to take advantage of short waits, especially at DAK. Particularly with the parade gone, waits times drop off incredibly after 4:30pm with EE sitting as low as 5 minute wait!

Hope that helps a bit!

Wow, thanks--great advice! An earlier poster made it sound like if you let your dummy tier 2 FPs expire, that you would have to rebook those tier 2 FPs before you could get the next Tier 1--did you experience that as well?

Our dummy FP+s expired (we did not use them) and we were still able to book any attraction (both tier 1 and 2). Mind you, you cannot book a 4th FP+ until your third FP+ has been either used or expired, so if your third one were a dummy one (which I don't recommend), you'd have to wait to the end of its window to book a 4th FP+. Hopefully that makes sense.

Yes, that does make sense! That is exactly what I was hoping to do!

Hmm? Interesting and didn't think of that. In theory you could do a FP, push up your 2nd one to about 920, do that one and push up your 3rd one to 940 and start getting a 4th one around 10. Heck if you are slowed down or have to walk a little between attractions NLT 10:30.
