Why is this necessary? Do they hold you a spot in front on the street curb? I thought you just pick your spot as before. First come gets front row. Now it sounds like even if you grab a front spot and wait it out someone who just wandered in late with a FP will be able to move out those families. Or will there be a special viewing area just for FP's. Just curious.:confused3

1- Not "necessary." It is optional, and can be considered a "convenience."

2- More or less.

3- You can still do that.

4- 99% (or so) of the route will remain unaffected, and remain as before.

5- Yes. (Very small area in the Hub, right in front of the castle.)

Thank you for clearing this up. This new FP+ is so very confusing.

When does the parade and wishes fastpass usually open up? I have heard it is closer to the date and often only on weekends but no specifics. I am 28 days out and no sight of it yet.

Thanks

As few as 2 days ahead.

Figure, most times, within the last 7-15 days before the actual date.
The listings don't seem to have a consistent posting time.

If you already have FP+ made for that date, change the TIME of one/two of them
to the start-time of the parade or fireworks. That can make the event(s) show
up as a choice, once Disney lists it/them.

Thanks Robo.

A couple more questions - 1) Are they usually just on weekends? 2) If MSEP has two parades do they usually do the fastpass for both parades.

Thanks again

1) I don't think so.

2) If they did, it would be of little value to use a precious FP+ for the second parade.
There is a massive amount of space available for viewing the second parade of the evening.

Thanks again.

Parade and Wishes just opened for the February portion of my trip. The March portion not open yet.

I am going to be with 6 month pregnant wife and 2 year old daughter (Which means no fastpass+ for mountains.) and a crowd level of 3 day. We have a 7pm ADR at Crystal Palace

I know for the normal family the late MSEP parade fastpass would be a waste but would it have any benefit to us or is it so empty it wouldn't matter?
