FP+ Details Are Out!

My apologies if this was already brought up. I'm sure it has but I can't get through the entire thread to find it.

Anyway, I am able to make 3 FP+ reservations per day. Let's say I go to MK and use my first FP+ on Splash Mtn, There would now be 2 reservations left. Am I able to make another reservation now or am I limited to just 3 per day and that's it? I have been getting conflicting information and I have no idea what to believe. I even went to the Mom's panel and got this reply:

"At the moment, you can only make three FastPass+ reservations. Once you have used them, however, you can visit the kiosks that still have passes available and secure additional passes "the old fashioned way".

Can anyone anywhere tell me what the actual rules are? Thanks

I've been curious about this very thing. I haven't seen a firm answer but it's one of the pieces of the puzzle I want to fill in. Up until now, people have had full access to the regular FP kiosks alongside FP+ so had no need to have an answer to this. I'm wondering if this test will be different.

Of course, with this being a test, if they do have the ability to add more as they use their slots, that would be golden right now since so few people will have drained the pool already. It's harder to say how "golden" that will be when everyone has full access to that pool ahead of time.

The answer to this could certainly change the common belief here that late day FP+ slots will be the most popular.

Is there a better thread on this topic that is more about the implementation and people actually booking Fastpass+? If so, please direct me to the right place. The thread seems to have moved in the direction of people weighing the pro and cons of the FP+ system. This thread moves so fast and I've seen several times where a person makes an assumption and two pages later someone passes off that assumption as fact.

I played with the app and on 8/6 and 8/7 in the MK it gave me a bonus 4th FP+ reservation. This didn't have a bonus available on the days I booked AK, HS, or Epcot. Anyone else getting bonus FP+. Is it because MK has so many options for FP+(21). The one positive thing as I understand it, so of the attractions that can be book for FP+ are not available under the normal FP system? However, I don't follow Disney enough to know if that is true.

Who knows if I'm part of the test, but at this point I have access to book reservations and I can' imagine they would want people to tie up FP+ reservations if they aren't participating.

How did you book your FP+ options? I have app, put in my AP but I see no option for FP+ where should I be looking?

My bet is that for this test, regular FP won't be disabled for those people using the FP+ system. It will only be disabled once the entire FP+ system is up and FP is taken down. Just my guess. To selectively disable it would mean creating a whole new field in the old system, which I can't see them doing especially when the system is going away anyway most likely, and probably sooner rather than later.

So if I were doing the test next month (which I'm not boo hoo, I'm a have-not), I would assume that I could pull regular FP as well.

Unless you are invited into a test then you are not eligible for FP+ at the moment.

As far as I'm concerned, I expect to be invited at 17 days out based on what I've read here.

As I've said before, if I didn't read these boards, and only paid attention to the MDE website, all I'd know is that was asked to customize my bands, they are now ready to ship, and I've been able to make the FP+ reservations. That's a pretty big rug for Disney to pull out from under someone on a vacation at the last second. I don't expect that to happen.

Plus, I'd guess they need the cards to work as a backup in case something goes wrong with someone's bands.

Yes there is no option for me on wensite or app for FP+. My AP is linked correctly to my profile so must be by invite only.

What resort are you staying at? Right now, the "invite" seems to be restricted to those staying at CR, AKL, POP and YC in August.

When I converted my paper AP to a plastic RFID pass in EPCOT in May the CM told me that I was now opted out of FP. So basically I was in FP+ when it is rolled out and couldn't do both. If I wanted to still use FP whilst it is still being used keep paper ticket.

Doing a spilt stay SSR/AKV DVC. Not going till Sep though. Maybe I am too early. But I have no option to select a magic band colour or anything like that. We live in UK so to ship them you would think they would need to get their skates on.

You are definitely not eligible (yet), both by time frame and location (it does not appear that AKV (DVC stays) are eligible for August. The BLT test coming up is the first DVC test.

Funny, but I bet you it worked perfectly well in all the FP kiosks just like normal... :)

If that was REALLY the case, no one would have done it.

I got mine a the end of May at a ticket booth. Was not told anything like that, and it worked fine. I'm rather shocked they said that.

The _intent_ per the terms and conditions were that if you got RFID media, you were opting out of regular FP and in to FP+. However, they wanted to get the RFID media out early, and it seemed that FP+ was nowhere near ready, so they put out only the cards and made them work with FP. They also removed the language from the terms and conditions in March.

Since you are outside of the test dates/resort combo it makes perfect sense that you cannot make a magicband or FP+ selection.

This was my exact point when I responded to the Disney email. If they're getting reports about people saving hours of time and everything working great its because their 'test' is not true to how the system will actually work. Of course people are loving it if they can use both FP AND FP+!

Yes obviously being a curious person I tested it... Out popped a fastpass. So I thought mmmm not sure about that he he. Hopefully the best of both worlds for a while! But being disabled I love the new way of getting into the park. So much easier!

One more thing that I hadn't thought about and haven't seen mentioned. Are IPOs going to be 'responsible' for FP+ reservations and changes? They currently handle ADRs so you'd think it would fall along those same lines, right? What a nightmare that would be for them!

pure speculation but i would think they know that and that the testing with FP+ and FP is more about a test run throught the system for purposes of seeing how everything physically works, not necessarily for seeing how crowd levels and availability are affected. At least i would hope they aren't actually thinking the double dip testing is representative of what will happen.

I also would hope that as they start testing with "FP+ only" guests, that the system is limited with overall availability at the same ratios tha the entire system would be subject to upon full roll out. they should be allotting the same ratio of FP+ per total # of FP+ testers and deducting that total number of FP's from the FP- system so that everybody is working under real life ratios

I would hope so, but the way their responses are being worded just makes me wonder, you know? It doesn't always seem like we're using apples to test apples.
