FP+ Details Are Out!

OK, I just called Disney (407) 939 5277, the reservation number and talked to a customer service person and was told this:
That we will be given 3 advanced FP reservations per day that can be used at any park, in any amount on the same day. 1 in 1 park and 2 at another park, or how ever you want to use them. He was confident and specific. He said that we can also use the regular paper FP's inconjunction with the FP+ in the same park, on the same day. He was confident and clear about what he was saying.

Hopefully it's good information, but all that directly contradicts the published FP+ terms of use currently on the WDW website.

I don't even know where to start on this... except to say that lots of... interesting but potentially wrong info has come from CM's at different points in time. And this is not in line with anything else I've read so far... but who knows?

... are you taking part in a test?

... did you ask about a specific timeframe / vacation time?

... I'm sure everyone else here will fill in all the questions/answers I'm missing...

You can safely ignore most info about Park Operation that's offered by a "Phone CM."

I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just stating it from experience.

That's not their area of training.

When you call Walt Disney World, unless you really know a direct number, you will get one of two offices.

The Disney Reservations Center (DRC) includes Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC), Central Reservations Office (CRO), Disney Dining, and some other lesser known information lines. To the best of my knowledge the DRC locations are in the International Drive area, Tampa, Houston, Salt Lake City and somewhere in North Carolina. There may be more. Some of the people working at the DRC call centers may never have been to either WDW or DL (or both).

Many times, Cast Members don't know what there talking about, but you'd think that in his position, he'd be schooled on how things are going to work.

At this stage, they should probably just be trained to say "we don't know anything for sure - we're in testing now", and direct people to various official statements to date. :)

You would think that. Unfortunately, it's not true :(.

Everything from CM information (linked many pages back) to Terms of Service on the FP+ system says that it's limited to 1 park per day and that it's an either/or thing with FP+ and current FPs.

He could be talking about the recent test, where both systems are running concurrently (this test just ended... today? yesterday?), but it's unlikely that he has any more knowledge on the FP+ system than we do.

Never mind the fact that the current/recent test didn't allow them to be used at "any park". I think it was only tested in MK and AK.

Shouldn't someone just ask a bus driver? I thought they knew everything about Disney World...

;)

Edit: Seriously though... wouldn't that make an awesome thread? "Things I learned about FP+ from Bus Drivers"... might just be me...

THAT'S what we've been doing wrong here!!! :rotfl2:

P.S. I like your signature line ;)

I am not sure if I missed this in the 45 pages of posts on this thread:

If we do not buy our MYW tix in advance, and buy them upon arrival, can we still book FP+ attractions? or Do we have to have reservations in the system to make the FP+ reservations?:confused3

We are not planning to arrive until June, 2014. I imagine we will be stuck with using FP+ instead of the nice, friendly paper FP that we know and love.

You know this is why discussions get heated and threads get closed. Why would someone ridicule another member, even in the abstract, in their sig line? Why would another adult member encourage such behavior? It's shameful. The poster in question already clarified that it was a hypothetical suggestion not a statement of fact but obviously some are not able to let things go once they have seized upon a perceived weakness in an otherwise amicable debate. Not very Disney like most certainly.

There are no hard and fast answers yet. But most indications are that anyone can enter a ticket number into the system to use the advance booking benefit for FP. However, if you don't buy your tickets until you arrive, you would not be able to use the advance booking feature.

I assume that means you can schedule something as soon as you buy your tickets but nobody knows if that inventory would include headliners at that point. Disney will not commit to what would be available same day in the park beyond what you prebook. I assume you would get at least those 3 spots. Whether Disney will release additional inventory same day isn't know yet either. I'm guessing they will, but it will be limited.

That is only a guess. I wouldn't want to be accused of making things up.

Selective outrage? Most didn't seem concerned when I was... joked around with (?) ... across multiple threads yesterday. And I didn't have a fit about it either. Let's not be so sensitive! :goodvibes

The way it looks right now, no. You would not be able to book FP+ attractions. Most of the information suggests that you need to have tickets in hand to register them to the site.

However, that may not be the final case and things may change before the end. (Personally, I can't see them sticking to that.)

There's a reason why I stick to commenting on the system and not the posters and suggest that others do the same ;) (plus, it tends to keep things more civil!)

(Not aiming this at you, just at discussions in general.)

(As another note. Does anyone else get seriously confused when 2 people on opposing sides of a discussion happen to use the same avatar? I know I do! It takes me a couple minutes to be like "Wait..what?" before I remember to read the name instead of looking at the picture. I'm such a pro at message boards!)

(As yet another note. I also tend not to notice sigs unless they're obnoxious... as such, I didn't notice that line until it was pointed out. I agree, it's a bit over the line, but meh, I don't care enough to get worked up over it. It'll change once they get bored of it.)

(I like parenthesis!)

There is a difference between not being sensitive and being INSENSITIVE which your above reply clearly indicates you are. I think the quote below clearly indicates that DVCBELLE doesn't find this to be "joking around". Your welcome to continue with your childish behavior and instead of trying to point it out to you next time I will simply press the little caution button and the thread will be closed.

Exactly my point.

I honestly don't get where your hostility is coming from. I said I liked a signature that to me was all in jest and in good fun. I didn't take it as a mean-spirited signature at all, or I wouldn't have said anything. For that I get this reaction? Bizarre to me, honestly, that this action would be considered "shameful" by anyone. I'm honestly baffled. :confused3

If applied consistently across these boards, I can't imagine how many are guilty of "shameful" statements. Just half of those to/about me yesterday as a start!

DVCBELLE -- I wouldn't have thought I'd have to say this, but I meant no offense. Hope you can see it for what it actually is.

I'm curious how you think they might handle someone not having a ticket to link but being allowed to book FP+ in advance. Even allowing some very limited form of this seems like it would open things up to a nightmare scenario of people holding reservations and later deciding whether to use them or not.

I'm pretty sure that's the reason for the credit card holds for popular ADRs.
