1 month until I can make my FP selections! Super excited. But still a little confused about how it works when I have a toddler who won't be able to go on some of the FP rides. Some of it works out ok, like I have plans to have myself and my two older kids get a FP for 7 dwarves while at the same time get a FP for my husband and the two younger kids for Winnie the Pooh. But another time I want to hit Thunder Mountain and there isn't really a FP ride nearby that I want to choose for my husband and the baby. There's a play area near thunder mountain that I thought they could go to while we go on the ride but then does that mean we only get 2 fast passes for the baby? And do I get a FP for thunder mountain for my husband or do we just do rider swap? What happens if we only get 2 fast passes, does that mean they won't be eligible for a 4th one later on?

This is my first FP+ experience, can you tell? Lol.

How old is the baby?
Children under 3 years do not need FPs.

I'm starting to think about similar issues. For a portion of our trip we will be a family of just 4 (so weird for us!) so 3 Disney "adults" and one under 3 who won't need a fastpass, but won't have a ticket so even if she did we couldn't get one, which is why they don't need one! So for the bigger rides someone will always be riding alone if we do rider swap. I've never used fp+ either. Or I could buy her a ticket and get her fastpasses that one of us will use instead so we can ride together. So OP I think your question is, to use the rider swap do you and husband both need fastpasses?

Yes! That is my question then, do I get a fast pass for everyone if we are going to be using rider swap? I guess the baby can't get one anyway, which I was confused about! So probably just makes the most sense to get fast passes for everyone.

you can do rider swap I do not think your DH needs a FP for the rides with rider swap you can take 2 people with you so you and your 2 order ones have a FP then DH take the two older one with him then DH can have his own FP for just a total different thing like the little mermaid with just the little one latter or earlier for just him and the little one ( or really any ride) or he can just have 2 FP and when you get your 4 one he will just get another one with you

with rider swap you can take 2 people with you so it would like you have 2 parents and 2 older kids and one under then. if so mom goes on a ride with a FP with the older 2 while dad wait for the little one then when you get done with the ride dad goes on with the 2 older ones with a rider swap so he dose not have to ride alone. also children under 3 can go in the FP line if they are tall enough for the ride with out a FP. so no need to buy then a ticket
