I will be staying at a WDW resort one night before moving to an offsite resort. I have an AP, my son has a 5 day park pass. How does FP work?

Thank you!

You'll be able to make your fast passes at 60 days for your on site stay. There is a rolling 60 day window until you check in so you'd be able to make fast passes for the length of your trip. You can only have 7 days of fast passes for AP since your stay includes off site. I believe your son would only be able to make 5 days of FPs.

So I will be able to make FP's for him for 5 days even though my stay is effectively 2 park days at the rolling 60 day point? Hopefully we can stay onsite the whole time, there just isn't availability at this point.

I think so, not 100% sure since I have an annual pass and haven't really paid attention to the details of multiday tickets. I believe the window opens at 60 days due to your hotel stay and then the fast pass booking is tied into your tickets. Someone else might know more for his ticket. But for you, you'll be able to make 2 days of fast pass at the 60 day window and then for your off site stay you'll be able to do one day at a time. You can hold 7 days of fast passes.

I am also doing an onsite/offsite stay and I am an AP holder and DH has a 7-day park hopper. I was able to do all our FPs at 60 days, including the ones on days when I am staying offsite. I hope this helps answer your question.

EDIT to add: I am staying onsite at the beginning of my stay, and spending the last couple days offsite. All in all, we will be going to the parks twice while we are offsite and I was able to book FP's for those days at 60-days. I actually missed my last day because I didn't think I could, but when I looked at about 55 days I was able to book them no problem (but missed the one I wanted :( )

It's the same way to book for your son as described by @FSU Girl. :)

There's a great explanation of the rolling 60-day window in the 1st post of the Throwaway Room Sticky. It's written for a 1 night onsite stay followed by offsite days.
