FP+ and park hopping

We would like to schedule 2 FP+ for MK and then leave for EP. I know I can't reserve the 3rd at EP when I first reserve the MK ones. However, once we've used our 2 FP+ at MK, can I start booking EP? Will MDX even let me get FP+ at EP if I haven't used all 3 at MK first?

I've been reading a lot about FP+ but haven't seen anything concerning this senario.

Given that park hopping privileges cost extra, it really seems like Disney would want to fix this "bug" and encourage more people to park hop.
