FP and ADR question

LOL, I should be there early Dec.

For GPS, go to setting>location and security. You turn it on there. If you use your phone for directions, or anything dealing with location, you will have gps active.

You paying?

LOL! Let's not get all crazy or anything! :rotfl:

Thanks! Let's just say my phone is currently "under-utilized". I previously embraced my inner nerd by carrying a really out of date flip phone. I'm still trying to figure this new phone out. So I haven't used it for directions yet. When it gets home from my daughter's sleepover, I'll check out the GPS settings.

Thanks again!

The issue is that GPS/Bluetooth/WiFi is sometimes turned on by default. Even if you are not using the directions app, if GPS is turned on its still updating its position every so many seconds. Or if Wi Fi is turned on even when you aren't connected to a router its still checking to see if can connect same with Blue tooth.

So if you know you aren't going to be using those features, when they are on they use power.

My droid uses battery twice as fast if the GPS is turned on.

I'm thinking I turned my GPS off when I got the phone (or answered no when prompted) and haven't really needed it since then. I'll definitely check when I get it back tomorrow. We're really just not big cell phone users so I wouldn't know if mine uses a battery up really fast or really slow. Half the time it's turned off just laying on a table or buried in my purse. The only reason I upgraded was to be able to text my 17 year old sports playing kid and so I could check email. But I really want to be able to use the Mobile Magic FP feature fully in December.

I appreciate the "smart phones for dummies" tutorial!
