I've been reading about people with ADR's during their return FP time listed and have a question. Do you know the time period for your return before you get your ticket?

In other words, if I have an ADR in Epcot in France for 1pm, when I walk up to Soarin', will it say somewhere what time the FPs coming out will be for so I can decide if I should get one or not?

I "think" people said it would be listed somewhere but I want to be sure.

Thanks - Diane :confused3

Yes, as you walk up to the entrance, I believe both Stand By and FP return times will be posted.

You will see signs like this.

From the answers you were given, I know the question you must be asking yourself, then what was all the controversy about?

The controversy is that under the new FP regime, now that you're standing deep inside The Land Pavilion, ready to get a Soarin' FP, and you see that it conflicts with your ADR time, you CAN'T get a Soarin' FP (that you will actually be able to use.)

Disney Mobile Magic can help with this problem. Best part of the app for me.

Unfortunately, that's life. It's called planning. You stand-by, or you just work around it. Or, you use one of your new X-passes. Disney really should move the FP dispensary to the outside of the pavilion, like the majority of its other attractions with FP.

1- It's called planning.

2- like the majority of its other attractions with FP.

1- It's more accurately called clairvoyance.
The guest won't know what the FP Return Times will be when they make an ADR.
And, they won't know what the FP Return Times are at the point at which
they approach the attraction with plans on getting a FP.

2- All of the FP distribution locations are positioned near to the actual attraction queues, as are the Soarin' FP machines.
If they were outside The Land Pavilion, they'd be positioned differently than every other attraction.
They could/should put a "Return Time" display outside the building.
It could feature both Soarin' and Living with the Land.

I should have known that hairs would be split here. I should have said the vast majority of return times are displayed outside of the attraction that can be viewed as you walk by. Disney should have a few boards posted in central locations of each park giving current FP return times and stand-by times for all of the attractions. Also, as was posted before, there are apps. now that help with return times as well.

Does anyone know if I have t-mobile if I can get actual return times with this app?

I have the Lines app, but that's only as good as the info input by guests who choose to participate.

isn't there a large electronic board that's outside of the innoventions exit right across from the land? I could have sworn this board gave the wait times and current FP return times.

It's been a while since i actually paid attention to what it said, but I know i stood in front of it at one point within the last year and called my sister and my fiance to tell them what time the return time for Soarin was to make sure they were good with it before i got our FPs, since they were across the park waiting for mission space...

ETA: this is what i was thinking of - not sure of the exact location of the board in this picture though.

Sorry I'm late to reply, been a busy few days.

All the parks already have a centralized board that does this. Epcot's is electronic, the others are manually updated. I think these will be more important as FastPass+ comes along, and I expect the manual ones--actually updated on a chalkboard (!)--will give way to electronic ones before much longer. These could serve those without DMM and smartphones.

An Android smartphone will work.

I got an Android phone for the first time before leaving on our last trip. I don't recall getting actual times with the Mobile Magic App. Maybe we'll figure it out this time. But it helps knowing it supposed to work. Thanks!

With the real app, not the mobile website, you get real times when you are actually in the park. Outside the park you get only the see now kind of data.

OK, I'm pretty phone stupid. How do I know if I have the real app and not the mobile website? I really didn't care last time, but now that I can't use late FP's, I need this tool available to me.

The app has an icon and well works like an app. The mobile website you get to by using your browser.

If you downloaded the app from the Market you have the app.

OK, I must have the app. It's an icon. My kids have downloaded stuff for me so it's hard to keep up.

I think I saw something once about needing to enable the GPS feature on my phone or some such thing for it to work. Is this true? Any guess how I'd do that?

One of you kind souls want to meet me in the park this December for a phone tutorial? :rotfl:
