Will I be able to access the 60 day window when I have AP's and a room only linked to my MDE account? And if so, how many days out from the 60 day mark can I book?? (length of stay, or the AP limit of 7 days)

Have a great trip.

Thanks Michael, One more question,... Is booking FP+ the same as Dinning reservations where you can book 180 days plus 10 with a resort reservation on day one, or will I get FP+ for only the day that falls within the 60 day mark?... meaning I come back to MDE website everyday to make the next days reservation (I hope this makes sense)

With an onsite resort reservation and tickets linked to your MDE account, you can make FP + selections equal to the length of your ticket.

Ok,

Pardon my inability to grasp this .... So if my 60 day mark was July 1 .... 60 days prior to July 1 I would pick fast passes for July 1-7th all at once? Assuming I was staying for 7 days with a 7 day ticket or Ap

In the example you gave sounds like you are staying on site for 7 days and have a 7 day ticket, so you can book FP+ for all 7 days of your stay/tickets. If your arrival day is July 1, your FP+ window opens on May 2 (60 days before arrival).

An AP without an onsite reservation can only book 7 days worth of FP in a 30 day period (don't have to all be consecutive days). It's the resort reservation that kicks in the 60 day reservation window for FP+ and then even if you have an AP you can do "length of stay" even if it's longer than the 7 day AP limit.

OK, so its the same principal as the 180+10 ADR system for on site guests.

Thanks everyone

Pretty much...with a few quirks of its own....if you are staying for 7 days but only have a 5 day ticket in your account, you can only book 5 days of FP+. And FP+ it's not just +10 like ADRs....if you're staying 14 days, so long as you have tickets that equal 14 days (or an AP) you can book them all. If you're staying 14 days you can only do the 10 days for ADRs, then each day you can do one more.

But pretty much, stay on site and get to book ADRs/FP before the general public.

A suggestion that has worked for me....if you're looking for an extremely difficult FP (Anna & Elsa or 7DMT are probably the biggest right now), on your 60th day.....start looking for the hard ones at the END of your stay....as in day 7, instead of day 1. Because remember that the people arriving a few days before you have already had a chance to book your arrival date....so the further out you get the better chance those before you didn't grab them up already.

In other words, if your stay was July 1 to July 7.....on May 2 I'd be trying to book July 7 FP first.

Great advice. Thanks!

Follow up question to original question...we have a 1-night room-only onsite resort reservation with AP linked. Yesterday was our 60 days. When I logged in last night to do our FP+, it only allowed me to make FP+ for our check-in day and our check-out day, not the stated 7 day window (or entire onsite stay, whichever is greater).

Does anyone have any info on this? Will I be able to do them day-by-day at the 60 day mark, or will I have to wait for the 30-day window for my APs to open? We did this last year and had no problems...I booked our entire trip's FP+ on the 60 day window, so feeling a little confused. TIA!

You can only book for 60+10 days up to and including your check out day. Since you are not staying additional nights on site beyond that, anything after your check out day is subject to the 30 day window only.

Did this change? I thought people were booking the "throwaway rooms" for one night to get FP+ access at 60 days for the length of their ticket.

I have no idea. I do know I have an AP and that I was limited to check out date and nothing beyond.

ETA: weird--I just now checked and dates beyond my checkout have opened up. These were NOT an option when I booked at 60+10. Could have sworn they were also not available for several days, it I don't recall when I last checked in MDE. I do know that at 60 days out, I could only do 60+ through my check out day.

I think for the days after your stay you have to book them day by day at the 60 day mark for them.

What is weird is that they were greyed out for many days after. As I said, I don't recall when I last checked...but I know that I was kept from booking anything. Checked today and it was all highlighted as bookable for many days after our checkout.

I ended up being able to book them day by day...so every night at 1am, I was online booking FP+. (Booked for Day 1 and Day 2 at 60 days. Day 2 was included with my original 60 day booking because it was check-out day, so I did have that 2nd night that nothing opened up.) My husband thought I was crazy, but we got everything we wanted. Because we only have a 1night onsite stay and APs, I could only book 7 days of FP+ though, even though we'll be there a total of 9 days this trip that I would like to have booked them. No biggie though.
