Fourth Day Trash/Towel

I was in building 35 at Old Key West  the end of April and we did not get out trash and towel service either  But the worst part was we were almost out of toilet paper  So I called and someone came with it but all she did was one of the trash baskets and replenish shampoos :headache: Needless to say, I did not leave the tip that time :rolleyes1

You are suppose to leave a tip? Sorry to sound naive and I have stayed in some really nice 5 star hotels but have never left a tip for hotel cleaning staff. Bell service yes, waiters; yes, but for cleaning a room I am about to leave; no. (except on our cruise; and they definitely deserved it because everything was perfect everyday)

This is suppose to be 'home'; remember "Welcome home" ? and I haven't found a tip waiting for me at my actual home so I wouldn't expect to give one for service barely given every four days.

Cool...please...Let them know. Wonderful. Because I sincerely feel that my comments to the front desk fell on very deaf ears. If you want to be specific, it was room 2026. No service whatsoever. And again...the issue is NOT the trash doors, NOT the ability to throw out your own trash...Not the lack of signs......the issue is that I did not get the service promised to me. I think we are missing the main point here and right now I'm frankly getting tired of the to and fro of this. I should NOT NOT NOT have to know where to drag my garbage to! I am on vacation. I am Paying for this fourth day towel/trash. While I appreciate the info you are attempting to give me, trust me that I've been around this place longer than I care to admit. The bottom line is the service stinks and they don't seem to give a damn anymore.

Hey, I was just trying to help.:confused3

It has become customary to leave a tip for housekeeping in cash hotels. For DVC, it is completely up to you. Disney considers housekeeping a non-tipped position, but many members do leave a tip anyway.

We had the same issue in April, called the front desk around 8:30 PM within minutes someone was at the door with towels the next am they did the trash and another set of towels :)

we were in building 21.

BTW, the OP is correct. I am currently in BLDG 20, and the trash room has no signage, and is locked, though a staff member was in it this morning as we left for the parks. It must've been repurposed for something.

Again...this should not be the issue...right? I mean the issue should be trash and towel removal by Mousekeeping. Right?

It's definitely the issue for you, yes. For me, however, we're throwing out garbage every day or two, and we definitely take our trash ourselves on those days. So that locked door would be a BIG issue for me. Bigger than T&T day, since one of the lovely things about DVC *for me* is the *lack* of people coming into my room.

Both deserve time and attention from the CMs, IMO.

Many people do, yes. Many others don't!

Isn't that odd?

No....Sammie....it's "my bad" instead.....and not intentionally.....the trash room was there and I knew that from previous visits, (our original points in '98 were with OKW)... however, the signs on the doors (as in your picture) were removed. It was just confusing with no signage and especially when the doors were locked. It's also been literally years since we've stayed at OKW (not my favorite place), so I had no idea if there had been any changes. And no......while I did voice my disappointment with the the lack of towel/trash service, I did not mention the locked doors. I agree....I probably should have. But with no signs on the door, it didn't come forefront to my brain.

If there was no sign, then it wasn't a trash room. Every set of stairs doesn't have a trash room under it--there's one for every three or four sets of stairs.
