whgrn: SHORTS!!!!:woohoo:

It is now 2:40PM and 83 degrees outside!

I LOVE that smiley!!!

We got all the way up to 87 degrees today, and tomorrow is supposed to be near 90. Oh joy! I LOVE this summery weather!!!

My DD has her sectional swim meet tomorrow. With the progress she made on her flip turns today at her lesson, she may just cut a few seconds off her time! We'll see how that goes.

Each year, at the end of year party, the swim coaches give the kids something. In past years, they have gotten sweatpants, gym bags, towels, and some other stuff with the team logo on it. Obviously, since this is DD's first year, she has none of that stuff.

Well, I decided to fix that, sort of. So today I went out and got her 2 royal blue bath towels (royal is the team color). They aren't personalized, obviously, but at least they are the right color. AND I got a royal blue gym bag, since the one she's been using, which is marroon, is WAY too small for use at meets. Anyway, I got the brilliant idea to personalize the bag. So off to AC Moore I go, and bought adhesive letters (white) and a bright yellow Sharpie marker. I colored the appropriate letters golden yellow (which is the color of the personalization on all the team stuff), and carefully applied them to her bag! So now, her bag says her name on one end, and her team name on one side. It looks SO cool! I will try to post pictures, but they are from my cell phone, so not the greatest...

I also got her a new swim cap. She really wants one with a Scottish flag on it, but I haven't been able to find one yet. I'll check this summer when I'm over there! Anyway, I found one that is royal blue. She also has royal blue goggles, and obviously her suit and Tshirt are royal, with the team name on them. So she is all set!!!!:yay:

Here are the pctures:

I think they came out pretty cool! I hope the letters will stay on, at least through the Olympics in June. I can always redo them if need be...

whgrn, that bag looks great. :thumbsup2 I'm sure she'll love it. And that story with the swim instructor is hilarious.

It's suppose to hit 90 here tomorrow. I can't wait. I was still in jeans though. Maybe tomorrow I'll break out a pair of capris. It might be warm enough. :lmao:

So, we went shopping tonight and I actually bought myself some new clothes. I even got a new outfit to wear out to dinner with DH while we are on vacation. I just need to get new shoes....I don't think my sneakers or crocs will do for this. :lmao:

Hey Race, work is work. About the same. Not to much new going on there right now, and all week I have pretty much been "pretending" to work, I just don't have enough to do. Looking forward to being off for a week and a half then we will see what's up when I get back. Maybe a new project will have developed by then.

Wendy-love the bag, it really looks good.

I am getting pretty excited. I am ready to get away. I am freaking out a little to, there is still so much to be done. And since I am working (with the exception of tomorrow) up until we leave I do not have much time to finish this stuff.
I should probably try to find some sort of packing list, just so I don't overlook something important.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:1000:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

don't worry about getting everything done. It will get done.

Don't forget

sunscreen (it's way too expensive to buy that there)
cell phone chargers (have done that one year)
tylenol...I used to bring a bunch of medicines and never used them
confirmation numbers
Bandaids and moleskin
hand sanitizer
baby wipes (they are perfect for cleaning up anything)
camera and extra batteries and memory cards

Those are the basics I would not want to forget. Lots of things can be bought there if needed in an emergency.

Those all sound great to remember, add the couple prescriptions we take and like you said anything else can be bought there. Need to add sunscreen to the list of stuff I need to buy! Yikes, well I am going to sign off, in the last few minutes I can not keep my eyes open. Talk to you tomorrow.

Morning all:

Lots to catch up on...we had the good weather so I wasn't on the computer much Fri & Sat. Late yesterday a huge t-storm go through so now it's cooler and rain. :sad1:

Got a WDW question for ya'll...
How many of you use TGM? Do you really do the complete ride to ride itinerary? I find a lot of the information very useful but I just cannot imagine printing out a minute by minute schedule to go by. Is WDW gonna be that complicated or will we be able to have a good time and get anything done without a complete laid out plan?

I used the best day recommendations which worked out great. He also had lots of recommendations to get on the big rides with minimum wait...especially at rope drop.

Oh, would you look at that 1,000 posts. Whoo-hoo , and they have probably mainly been with the TKers.

Congrats on 1000 :woohoo:

Pike - Thanks for the poopy story...gave me a giggle.

Lady Wendy - When do you leave for Scotland...I know it's July sometime. I just booked my Mom June 30 - July 23, she's going for her brother's 70th...wish I could go too!!

Good morning all!

I know I am awfully late but have a great trip MagiKitty! :wizard:
Oh... and LivinInTheCastle you have a wonderful trip too! :wizard:

Pikester, thanks for your take on the touring plans. Yes, it really did help. I got a passporter but have not had a good chance to look at it yet.
I imagine I will keep notes on show times and have a first ride or two in mind but after that I imagine we will just be anywhere the wind blows. I will be sure to remind the guys to bump up their normal fastpass collecting. And of course, I won't forget to make the ever important ADRs as needed.
We will be in Florida for 2 weeks but will only be in the park for 10 days. Unless I missed something I think that 10 days is the longest park hopper we can get before jumping up to an AP. We usually get an AP in DL but they are a bit more costly in WDW. Anyway, that gives us a few days to rest a bit and take in a few sights around town.
It really stinks that you had such a crappy day! I hope your day got better after that little incident.
I don't think I ever had to go through anything like that with my kids but when our dog was a puppy she crapped all over the living room one night. I don't know how one little puppy could have made so much poo but it was everywhere! I somehow gagged my way through that. The dog immediately went to live outside about 6 months until I was positive she was house trained. She had another accident about a year ago but it was because she was on some medication. Now my DH has come up with the idea that we need to get another puppy for DD on her 10th birthday. I have already informed him I WILL NOT CLEAN UP DOG POO! The things poor mothers must endure! :sad2:

whgrn, thanks for your input too! I do love TGM's best park days. If he is correct then I will be totally happy! Glad to hear that we will not have to race through the park at breakneck speed just to get a glimpse of most everything. I figure we will start with the things we have never seen and if we have time we can go back and check out the remaining things that are similar to what is at DL.
I hope you are feeling all better now. :flower3:

racetrack18kb, yeah another opinion to set my mind at ease! You sound like you have had excellent results from TGM. The site really is very user friendly. The only problem I have is that there is just so darn much info on there! On occasion I have trouble finding something I read previously but he has a really good search function so I usually end up a happy camper. :thumbsup2

M&N, I will try to remember KISS! When the boards start overloading my brain and the negative posts start to make me panic I will be sure to get back over here to the TKers so they can calm my nerves back down! :scared:
Pssssst.... I agree I would love to have upper 60's and lower 70's year round. When you think it is hot where you are at this summer... just think of me here BAKING in the hot Texas sun!
b22.gif
You are bound to be a little cooler than I am!

DL55, Thanks for more TGM input. Everyone around here seems to have common ideas on how to do the parks. Some of the people on the boards take their park touring very serious... down to the minute. I don't think I would find that enjoyable at all.
I hope that if someone saw my child being abducted someone would step in and take action against the criminal before he got away. I hope the policeman doesn't get punished for doing his job.

BKMETV Another TGMer! Best days I can do but I am not so sure about RD! Well, let me rephrase that.... I probably could do RD but I don't think I could get the rest of the family in gear that early. Thankfully during the off season the park opens a little later so we haven't lost too much time by the time we finally straggle in.
You've been way too long! Wendy is already back! Here trip report is back on page 191. Great read and wonderful pictures!

The weather here has been warm but good grief it is soooo windy! I've got flowers popping out everywhere but they get battered and blown away before I get a chance to actually enjoy them.
sunflower.gif
There have also been a few storms drifting around but so far nothing serious. We watched Twister yesterday to get us ready for tornado season.

We have taken up a new sport around here. Balloon volleyball. I don't know where we come up with these ideas but we have always made up silly games to play here in the house. In this case our net is the back of the couch. Since they beg me nearly every night I decided it might be a good way to get in a little exercise. Since I have a slight handicap from being semi-old and out of shape DS gives me an advantage. He rolls around on the floor working on his mobility while I struggle to make my body move along with me from the other side. My face is a balloon magnet but at least it doesn't hurt. Even though you know it's coming it is still near impossible to not make a stupid face when the balloon smacks you.

Been good for quite a few laughs!

LivinInTheCastle Congrats on the 1000 posts. :dance3:
whgrn The duffel bag looks very professional. :thumbsup2

Absolutely beautiful day here today. I love the hot weather.

marie, with 10 park days, I would use TGM only as a guideline. Use his best days and grab the fast passes as soon as you can and you'll be fine. Even though you think you won't be able to get the whole family there for rope drop, I would try very hard to make it as close as possible for your DHS day. The fast passes for Toy Story Mania will go very fast. And stand by can be up to 2 hours long.

Hi DL55!!!!!

whgrn, that bag looks great. :thumbsup2 I'm sure she'll love it. And that story with the swim instructor is hilarious.

whgrn The duffel bag looks very professional. :thumbsup2

Thanks! DD loves the bag! The meet went great--she won a silver in the 50m backstroke, and a GOLD in the 50m freestyle!!! I am SOOOO proud of her! She is as happy as can be, of course, and so proud of herself and her medals. She's going to wear them to school tomorrow, along with her friend Christine, who got a bronze and a gold, so they can show the teacher and their classmates. Another boy in their class is on the team too, but I forget how he placed.

Lady Wendy - When do you leave for Scotland...I know it's July sometime. I just booked my Mom June 30 - July 23, she's going for her brother's 70th...wish I could go too!!

I'll just miss your Mom! I leave July 24.. Where will she be?

LITC, congrats on 1000 posts!

It is 90 here right now, supposed to be 85 tomorrow and 88 Tuesday. I am SO loving it! Sitting here with shorts on, and bare feet! I won't turn the air on yet, so it's warm in the house, but we do have ceiling fans, so it is fine.

MK is at WDW!!! Lucky girl! Hope they are having a blast.

Well, I made it through another b-day party with the family. :woohoo:
Maybe it was because of the extra Mike's Hard Lemon aid and Punch I had in the cooler. :scratchin DS7 is enjoying his new Batman toys and humming the 1960s Batman theme music.

Another big T-storm going through.

Hope I don't lose power.
Since we are on the subject...I seem to have some sort of weird intestinal thing. I can't seem to go 1/2 hour without the bathroom! I'm here, all dressed and ready for the gym, and not sure I'm going to be able to get there--I have a thing about "doing my business" in a public place, especially when it's "sensitive business" like this! YIKES!
Could it be those heavy duty drugs they got ya on?? I know when I take large does of penicillin, my insides just have a field day. :scared:
Those bags look great BTW. :thumbsup2

Morning all:

Lots to catch up on...we had the good weather so I wasn't on the computer much Fri & Sat. Late yesterday a huge t-storm go through so now it's cooler and rain. :sad1:
We had that same line come through here. Temps in the 80s one minute and now non-stop thunderstorms and cooler temps (40s). :sad2:

The weather here has been warm but good grief it is soooo windy! I've got flowers popping out everywhere but they get battered and blown away before I get a chance to actually enjoy them.

Hi Marie! I love that swaying flower smiley. We've had that kind of wind here too.

LITC - Have a great trip.
Kitty - Hope you're enjoying MK as we speak.

No, I've been off the heavy duty drugs since Monday. All cleared out by now.

In any case, I've been ok for over 24 hours. Maybe it was just a stomach bug. I feel fine now.

Off to dinner--I am so NOT cooking in this heat!

Just sayin' hi real quick... taking a break from freaking myself out about "swine flu." (I've become way too affected by these news stories since I had kids. I'm a worrier by nature, and when there's this much publicity, I tend to freak out... in general, I've stopped watching the news for just that reason. But, I don't like to be uninformed either, so I still do check headlines and try to read up on what's going on in the world.)

I can't believe it... I just deleted the rest of my post by accident!!! ARRRRGGGHHH! Ok, here's a little anyway.

Nice day otherwise around here. Hot, but that was nice for a change. I got a bit overexcited and overspent at the nursery, but I came home w/ a trunkload of new plants and all 4 of us spent the day outside working in the yard. DS "helped" and played in the little inflatable pool we bought, and DH found the greatest thing ever to occupy BL. Its an inflatable "baby gym." The bottom is kind of like a tiny inflatable pool, but w/ much higher sides so he can't "escape." Although how he did try! and then it has a canopy that goes over the top to give him some shade. On the sides are little squeaky things and pegs to put inflatable rings on. There's even a little hoop, and it comes w/ a few plastic balls. DS got in too, and the 2 of them had a blast. It was so cute!

Speaking of cute, DH took DS to get a haircut today, he's always had a long, almost bowl cut (I usually do it). He's got this incredibly thick straight hair. Well, he came home w/ this really short, buzzed kind of "big boy" cut, and he looked like he was 6! I actually started to cry (not where DS could see me.) He looks adorable, but he looks so much older! We had said we would cut his hair short for summer, but not yet... I was so unprepared. Apparently, the original trim didn't go well, and was uneven and as they trimmed it up, DS decided he liked it short. I was a little mad at DH for letting them do it SO short, but I know I really shouldn't be, its just me being a mommy and watching my little baby grow up. (Sigh).

Anyway, this was supposed to be a quick stop before bed, I'm beat from my day of digging and planting and running around.

Hope you all are well. And, I guess its just my mood of slight worry, and also feeling very happy about my wonderful life, but I hope I won't step on any toes by saying to you all... God Bless you and keep you.

'Night.

BTW - M&N and Racetrack - Wow!!! What a race! (We dvr'd it and just finished watching. Glad Edwards was alright.)

Morning Ladies:

It's absolutely beautiful here today...sun shining and warm.:cool1:

I'll just miss your Mom! I leave July 24.. Where will she be?

Her sister lives in Kilmarnock which is just south of Glasgow, but she'll be visiting her brother near Loch Loman and my cousin's are all over (Troon, Stirling, Largs). Really sucks that I can't go too!!

Well, I made it through another b-day party with the family. :woohoo:
Maybe it was because of the extra Mike's Hard Lemon aid and Punch I had in the cooler.

We had that same line come through here. Temps in the 80s one minute and now non-stop thunderstorms and cooler temps (40s). :sad2:

Sounds like a great way to survive a party.:thumbsup2 So I guess you can be my new weather person...I get your weather about 12 hours later. :rotfl:

BTW - M&N and Racetrack - Wow!!! What a race! (We dvr'd it and just finished watching. Glad Edwards was alright.)

That was quite the ending...mind you I'm sure Michele was p.o.ed when Kyle got run off the track at the end.
