Speaking of cute, DH took DS to get a haircut today, he's always had a long, almost bowl cut (I usually do it). He's got this incredibly thick straight hair. Well, he came home w/ this really short, buzzed kind of "big boy" cut, and he looked like he was 6! I actually started to cry (not where DS could see me.) He looks adorable, but he looks so much older! We had said we would cut his hair short for summer, but not yet... I was so unprepared. Apparently, the original trim didn't go well, and was uneven and as they trimmed it up, DS decided he liked it short. I was a little mad at DH for letting them do it SO short, but I know I really shouldn't be, its just me being a mommy and watching my little baby grow up. (Sigh). .

Same thing happened to some friends of ours. The father took the 3 year old to get his haircut - supposed to be just a trim. Comes home with a complete buzz. The mother cried for days and went around telling us all the story of how the stylist supposedly "mess it up" and they had no choice but to buzz it. I think the father just wanted him to try this hairstyle, but he stuck to his story. Anyway, probably not what happened to you, but still made me chuckle and notice the similarities.

Oh my, what a freakin race yesterday. I am so glad Carl is ok and he was a good sport about it. Loved seeing him walk across the finish line. I didn't hold out much hope for Kyle doing good. Superspeedways are just not his thing. I will say, they need to get better commentators. They said something about no debris hitting the crowd at the end. I don't know about them but I clearly saw stuff flying into the crowd. Maybe not pieces of the car but there was stuff flying from the fencing. They better get glasses.

And no wings. That's only for Saturday night races. We'll have them this week.

lighttech It sure is hard watching them grow up. I usually cut the girls' hair....a slight trim a few times a year. But one time I let DH cut it. DD7's hair went from mid-back to above her shoulders. It all worked out in the end. Turns out it looked really good on her.

Guess I'll just wing, lol. So I think, some of you have left for Disney. Hope you enjoy. DD actually went about a month ago on Senior Trip. I could use a vacation it probably is cooler in Dis then it is here.

Hey racer I see your leaving soon for FL again, doing the Universal thing! Do not if they still have the Mardi Gras parade going on or if they replaced it with some other stay with your Kids for that. DD was their the first day straight from the airport and they had them there she said it was a mob scene. Fights breaking out cops all over the place.

Thanks for the heads up. I just checked their calendar of events and nothing going on while we are there.

I would have been freaking out if that happened while we were there. How did she like Universal? Fights and cops excluded, of course.

She thought it was okay. We have never gone when we have been at Dis, she said if you haven't seen it, then yeah nice to go for a day. She was ready to go the the hotel by 5. She showed me the pic's and and explain them comparing them to Disney Parks. They ate at Margaritaville, she said it was good. Where are you staying?

We are staying at Hard Rock Hotel. I figured the older kids will like it there.

We are also not doing the parks as much as we do at Disney. Planning on a lot of down time this vacation. You know, sitting by the pool, having a drink, even DH and I going out to dinner by ourselves.

We'll be gone for 9 days but only 4 1/2 at Universal. Stopping in both Daytona and Virginia Beach on the way home. DH always hates the super long drive home so we are breaking it up much more this time.

Happy summer! At least it was still cool in my house when I got home. I was afraid it would be hot and stuffy.

Pikester---what happened to the poo kid? Did you talk to mom or anything? I can barely handle my own messes, let alone a stranger's. You desreve a purple heart or something.

I wish the ex heard what the swim coach said Whgrn! He would probably pull DD out of class! That comment should bring back smiles when he ticks you off sometime! Your crafty handiwork looks great...all lined up nicely. If one does come off, it would be easy to fix.

Way to go LITC! Getting chatty on us.

Lighttech: Such precious memories to be gathering...watching DS loose his baby looks. That little pool thing sounds cute. You will be there with him anyway if he does try and climb out.

My FL friends said that the flowers at EPCOT are more beautiful...they are coming out more---the floating flowers are like balls of flowers and the roses are beautiful.

I'll be back to talk about the race...my computer is only letting me type a sentence or 2 and then stops typing even though I keep going. Plus I need to get things away and eat lunch.

That will be nice, my DS use to live near VA Beach, its great. December, but w/DD starting college I'm not sure. They go in quarters so they get a couple of weeks off every 11 (I think) so I don't know what her schedule will be yet.

No, but I did walk down the street to watch once. Another time I watched from my backyard. The closest fire hydrant is 1/4 mile away so we need tankers. I decided if we catch on fire the house is gone so I increased my insurance.

Universal is fun but we are getting too old. DH wouldn't go on the Hulk a second time. But MIB is much better than Buzz.

Except for the wind I like April and May...my utilities are much lower. We don't turn on the AC until Memorial Day weekend. Then I dread the electric bill.

you really have to wonder about people. I cannot imagine putting the kids in the car to go see a fire. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Maybe becuase in my years on the first aid squad, i saw more than my share of fires, but it just holds no interest for me. Now, if it was my neighbor's house, I'd go out to offer help and support, NOT to gawk...

93 here today. Still no AC at my house--the fans are fine for now. I am just loving being barefoot!

I told my PT today about the swim teacher's comment and he thought it was hilarious too. The concensus there was that no, I don't look my age, and that if #3 really looks that old (she does) well, I could pass for late 30s, she could pass for late 50s, so that would make sense. But still, how could ANYONE think I came from HER?!?! i am MUCH better looking! (and that really says something about how good looking she is NOT!)

I can't imagine driving a long distance to watch someone's house burn to the ground. If it was in my neighborhood I would probably watch just to see what was going on.

M&N: Nothing happened with the kid other then that I cleaned it up. I didn't tell his Mom but I bet she got one heck of a surprise when she had to wash his undies.
