Pepper, I am so sorry to hear about your father. May God be with you and give you comfort.

  Pepper:hug:
I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing.
You and your family are in my prayers.

Oh Pepper I am SO sorry about your dad! I know this is a difficult time for you and your family. You all are in my prayers, as your Dad was. Please know that I am thinking of you.

Sending you lots of

MK, I bet if you told them they had to drive you around, that part would show up YESTERDAY! Give 'em heck, forget about the "Miss Nice Girl".

Well, the hives are gone. Of course, I slept most of the afternoon and evening. The pain is at a dull roar. Going to take Motrin and some more Benadryl and go to bed.

I gotta show you all what God left me this evening... right outside my kitchen window! It was even prettier than the picture!

 Pepper: God does not answer our prayers the way we want all the time but He does do what is best. God took my father at age 60 which was certainly not what I wanted but God did give me the assurance that my dad did not suffer and is in a much better place. I know He will be with you and help you and your family through this. 18 years later, I still cling to that assurance. :grouphug: to you and your family.

Well we fly out tomorrow for my uncle's funeral. I still have a list of things to do
after I finishing my training today that is set to last until 5
1)pack
2)clean my room
3)drive the 2 hours to mum's house to drive 2 more hours to the airport in the AM
4)watch Grey's because it comes back tonight:banana:
I must say though, after emptying Tracey's room I am a little scared to be leaving for 4 days....

Pepper, again I am so sorry. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Have a great day everyone!

Pepper - I am so very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing.
I have had him and your family in my prayers and will continue to do so. My Dad died 1 year ago suddenly at 71 and it has been the hardest thing to go through for my family and myself. My mom still has her good and bad days. Please don't hesitate to PM me if you ever have questions or rants about the grief process. Its a long process and missery loves company.

Well, this just keeps getting better and better. On opt of everyhtin gelse, now I have HIVES! Itching like crazy. Took 2 Benadryl, breathing is oK so no ER for now. But I have to stop the antibiotic, which will slow down the recovery of the abcess. DANG IT!

Thanks for the cool smilies. I can't smile cause it hurts too much, but inside I was grinning like a fool.

whgrn, you have just had the week from h*ll.

You poor dear. I hope the rest of this new year gets better for you.

Its nasty out there. Lots of ice here, and we're more of the snowbelt, so we really don't know what to do. Just take it easy and hope for the best. Now I'm really, really upset with the garage. They keep telling me they're waiting for the part for my engine. Where is it coming from? Can I go get it?

I'm giving you a frustrated smiley too cause you need it. I'd make that garage pay for a rental for you. This is ridiculous!!!!

Racetrack & Bopsmom - I just realized your tickers are almost identical. Are you both going to be in Orlando at the same time? :yay:

TKers....What's going on here in 2009? Were not starting out very well are we? Things have to get better soon.

That is a great picture. :thumbsup2
That seems to be the place I find God the most... scenic pictures. There are days when all seems be going bad and then I look out the window and see the sunset or sunrise and it all comes into perspective.

Marie, thanks for the picture. It is beautiful.

to everyone.

Just made it! Good morning everyone! I do hope that we have all awoken to a fresh new day full of promise. As always, everyone is in my prayers to have strength, to have hope, to have love in their lives.

I still haven't kicked this cough and cold. I may have to turn to drugs, which I try to do as last resort. I try to have faith in my immune system, but I think it needs some reinforcements. I have a week to get better, because I don't want to spend 24 hour travelling with a cough and sore throat!

I am, for the most part, packed. Mom and I have decided to pay the extra baggage fee. We just could not get everything we wanted to bring with us without it. Of course, that includes about 40 pounds of candy! A lot of it is from my TKer friends! We actually had to whittle it down and exchange about 20 pounds of candy for much lighter clothing to give out. I think its a fair exchange. I'm getting excited and so looking forward to wearing shorts and walking on the beach. I can't wait to have my favorite fruits and to see some much missed family.

mariezp, that picture was beautiful! And its so so true. God really is in the details. There are moments when it just hits how beautiful and amazing the world really is and how I often go about being self-centered and unappreciative. I have to rectify that. Life is so precious and I shouldn't be frivolous for the gifts that I have.

As always, big hugs and much love to my wonderful TKer friends!

Hey Racetrack! I just noticed your ticker too! I see you've decided to go to Universal! How exciting. What are your plans so far?

Hey Magikitty!!! Yeah, it's Universal this time. Looks like we are going to go the second week in June and staying at Hard Rock. Getting some really good prices on the 5 nights for the price of 3 deal. And ticket prices are so much cheaper so that helps. We'll most likely spend a day or 2 at Sea World as well.

The kids have looked at all the pictures and videos for Universal and are really excited. The older ones love the idea of the front of the line passes.

Since you have been before, are their counter service meals big too? Like the ones at Disney?

We found the food at Universal really good and yes, it was a lot. I personally wasn't too thrilled wih the "pizza" there (I am from New York!), but BF thought it was more than fine. Lots of choices. I'll have to look up the names of the places we ate at, but I'm not much of a burger person, and I was always able to find either a salad or a chicken-something, and it was good.

If you have time, I highly highly recommend fitting in a meal at Mythos. Its a TS place, but its really cool inside and the food was amazing. We actually just made a meal of three appetizers, we couldn't finish it and it is easily one of my favorite meals at any Orlando venue. We snuck in for an early lunch, and it was a great respite from the heat with super yummy food.

Do you have AAA? They take a 10% discount on food, drinks and souvenirs at Universal. It can really add up!

And don't forget, I'm a huge fan of the refillable mugs!

I've looked at the menu for Mythos and it's in our plans. I didn't even think the prices were too bad for a TS. Plan on getting the refillable mugs too. Considering they are good forever, you can't go wrong.

I thought about getting the meal deal but if their meal are big, we won't need it. At Disney, DD12 and DD7 could share an adult meal and it left them room for goodies later in the day. DD5 likes to sample everyone's food so as long as DH and I get something different, she's good to go.

I saw that about AAA. That will really add up too. I just can't tell DD12 or she'll think she can spend more since there is a discount. :rotfl:

The Universal hotels are also running a special where kids eat free in their restaurants for lunch and dinner. It's TS and more expensive but it's nice to know that option is available too.

I think I'm most excited about not having to plan our meals months in advance if we want a TS. In fact, it seems like there is very little planning involved with going to Universal compared to Disney.

Racetrack, we found planning for our Universal trip so much easier too. And don't forget the yummy eats at CityWalk too! And Citywalk is just right there, no need to worry about the busing and figuring out travelling time. (are you going to go the NASCAR cafe?) I really liked my meal at Margaritaville, really fresh and what a great atmosphere.

I didn't find the food at US/IOA terribly expensive. I know I did really like the food at Dinoland and there's this great snack place with funnel cakes right near the Hulk ride that has great views. oh, and right opposite Dueling Dragons is a good barbecue place too.

Kids eating free is really great! I'm so excited for your trip. Just a few months! Are you renting a car or is there transportation provided?
