The pool was great. I felt so much better after I worked out! Now the tooth is hurting again, but I just took some more Motrin, so we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping it will work as well as it did this morning. If so, I can hold out til Thursday. If not...

Sorry I don't have time to catch up, and just on for a minute. BLs alittle needy today. Think the poor guy is still trying to cut those teeth. (sometimes on me... ouch. :rolleyes1 )

But, NO MONO!!! Just a recorded message, so I'm not sure what I have... but the major symptoms are gone, so maybe it was just a bad flu or cold or something. Doc said "no signs of infection."

According to the tests, I had "a monster case" of mono at some point in my past... probably when I was in college and not sleeping anyway if I could think of a time. But, I do have to go in on Friday. My iron levels are WAY low (he said I'm not anemic, but that I might be someone who just doesn't absorb iron very well.) So, that would explain my fatigue the doc said. (I keep saying, what fatigue? I thought I was just tired my whole life from doing too much. ) So, provided all this turns out to be something that can be resolved w/ a supplement, this could actually be a good thing. I've always been more tired than the people around me. If more iron could help, it could actually improve my qualitity of life.

So, I'm still a little run down, minor sore throat, but everything seems to be going well, and doesn't look like I'll have to deal w/ all the stuff I was worrying about.

Thanks again guys!
(and sorry for the typos, etc. I'm doing this w/ a 4 mo old in my lap.)

Afternoon!!! Sitting here waiting for the snow and ice. Kids have already gotten early dismissal and not a thing has fallen out of the sky. But yet, when the streets and sidewalks are covered with a sheet of ice, they usually won't delay opening.

whgrn, good for you for going to the gym and pool. Hope the Motrin keeps working.

I've thought about the hurricanes if Florida but really there is a chance of bad weather everywhere. Last year, we had a tornado the next city over and an earthquake in the city on the other side of us. Ice storms are routine now during the winter. We get terrible heat waves during the summer. Just trading one extreme for another.

Aww, lighttech, I'm so happy for you. About the no mono, that is. Can I uncross my fingers now, they're starting to hurt. :lmao:

:dance3: :dance3: NO MONO!!!! :dance3: :dance3:

I have iron deficiency too. I have to go periodically for IV iron therapy. It's no big deal. You sit there for an hour with all the chemo patients and realize how blessed you are to ONLY have an iron deficiency!! It really helps alot with the fatigue, too. Hope you get some good help from the doc.

And a "friend" of mine-who I have known for years, for seem reason just seems to be ignoring me lately. Not sure why. I thought we were closer than that, but I guess you never really do know.

Maybe its just quirky friend year or something. Same thing happened to me. There's a "friend" I have been in touch w/ since high school. Thought we were good friends (in each others weddings, etc) I have sent her a Christmas card for the last 2 years and got nothing back :confused3 . Doesn't call or write either. Now I know she's sending out Christmas cards cause our other friend has got one - BOTH years. Complete w/ pics of kids (she's had 2 new babies in this time. :scared1: Said NOTHING to me). I'm not sure how to approach this. Her b-day is coming up and I am going to send a card and letter outright asking what's up. Don't think I did anything bad.:scratchin So confused.:faint:

If you're still in great discomfort, you might want to try Alieve for pain. Painkillers do nothing for me - even after surgery. Tylenol, Advil and Motrin do an okay job. But Alieve works GREAT! Can't feel pain after that. Just be sure to take it w/ food or you may get an upset stomach like I do.

Lighttech - Yeah (I think) on the no MONO. Couldn't figure out what I had years ago either. Never came up as mono, but boy was I sick. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Well, the weather here is quiet - for now. More snow expected tomorrow. We had an ice storm this weekend and roads were an absolute skating rink. Very dangerous. I'm so sick of this winter weather. :headache:

As for the grocery bill -- don't get me started. I've cut ours down to bare bones and still it keeps going up. Milk alone for 1 week is around $12 (4 gallons at $3 each). Prices on everything go up in, not pennies, but quarters on a weekly basis. What's up w/ that? I'm always surfing that Budget board to find ways to save.

Lighttech Not mono! :thumbsup2 Low iron levels definitely make you tired. (former Med Tech here) plus a baby. Don't know how you could NOT be tired. :flower3:
LivinInTheCastleHope things work out with your friend. You can always talk to us and we (most likely) won't take it the wrong way. :)
We were doing pretty good with out grocery bill until DD moved back home. :rolleyes1 Also too many trips. Went over our budget and calculated what we spent this past year. Our credit card bill (mo. avg.) was way too high! We pay it off each month but I think we charged too much last year. :guilty:

Funny story for everyone. I am an RA in a dorm at my school. I stayed over Christmas break. Some of the RA's in the staff here have been involved in a prank war over the last semester. So another RA that stayed and I had a little fun over break.

I just picked my friend Tracey up from the airport and brought her back as we start training tomorrow. She open the door to her room to find....... nothing. Well we did put a microwave in her room that she had confiscated from some really rude kids earlier this year.
We moved EVERYTHING out of her room while she was gone. She is now sitting in my room waiting for the male RA that I helped to get back because we can't move the furniture :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It made my day, hope someone can get a kick out of this, however I am a little scared as to the pay back.

Anyone else ever been involved in a good prank?

Payback is a b****. Don't forget to tell us what happens. :lmao: Can't think of a prank right now but I'll think about it.

We seem to have partnered up me and B(male) and T and M(both female) last time M went home we duct taped anything that was lose (lotion, shoes, food, trashcan) to the wall, so I am getting a little scared

Afternoon ladies! I'm getting ready for the storm this afternoon. I see that the Pennsylvania folks are getting ready too. Ran out to the grocery this afternoon too. My local grocery is having its "can can" sale, and I stocked up! Last night, when I wasn't coughin and sniffling, I paired the sale to my coupons. I did really well! Even the cashier was impressed.

Bring on the weather! I'm ready for you!

Yeah on not having mono Lighttech! And now you know what you can do to help yourself.

How you doing today, Wendy? The drugs doing you well? Sorry you had such a rough time with the tooth so far.

I think we should really truly try to plan for a get-together this summer and go see this Hershey Hotel. We can coordinate plans and have a real TKer reunion!

LITC, I'm afraid I'm the bad friend in a similar situation to yours. Life just gets super busy and then you're like "when was the last time we talked?" and then its a matter of who contacts who first. I will say for me, there really wasn't an incident, just didn't know how to get back on track for the friendship. Just be patients and willing to lend a shoulder or an ear. And if things still feel weird, just drop a little note in the mail letting her know you're thinking about her.

Sorry, MSP, I've never been much of a prankster. But then again, I have three older brothers, and no bad deed goes unpunished! I guess I'm paranoid that way...but your tricks do sound fun!

Pump that iron Lighttech!

So glad it isn't mono! We were pulling for you!

As for the weather...nothing here yet. Supposed to get snow/freezing rain...not complaining. Just checked weather online and it says change to rain by midnight so it should be good to go in the am. :yay: Mom's taking Aleive for her toothache. She's not going to call dentist---thinks it's caused by her sinus headaches...Who knows? I cannot tell her anything.

The best pranks I've done is decorate people's houses for their 50th bdays. I was repaid but I had fun doing it.

Evening all:

Lighttech...glad to here it's not mono, hopeful some extra rest and iron will have you better in no time.

Wendy - Take care of that tooth...nothing is worse than a toothache...well except childbirth, but we won't go there.:rotfl:

I had the same prank pulled on me in first year...came back to the dorm on Sunday night and everything on my side of the room was set up exactly as it was before I moved in...no books, clothes, nothing. I knew they'd locked in all in a storage room but I wasn't able to get a key until the next day. So Monday I went to class in the same clothes and with no books/pens etc...try explaining that to a Prof.

She was just so confused, she didn't understand what we had done with her furniture. We had stashed it in a few of the other rooms on the floor The look on her face:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good evening all. I see I have missed alot since I posted last. I thought I was going to miss the flu season. But noooooooo, I got the cold that everyone else has. The cough is the worst. It's that sneezy, sniffling, achey mess that is trying to get the best of me. I was hoping that I wasn't going to get it. With the stress of the Holidays "it " went right ahead and landed at the house of Sukie. I just hope that DH doesn't get it. You know how men are when they get sick.

MagiKitty: I wanted to say that I start with a blank frame and add everything from the background-forward. I try to get as 3-D as I can get.

My sister's princess : Sorry for your loss.:grouphug:

Whgrn: I have always told people "I'm not overweight, I'm undertall. :rotfl2: I hope that the tooth will get better soon.

Lighttech: I am glad that it wasn't Mono.

They are saying on the weather channel that we are suppose to be getting a wintry mix tonight and all day tomorow.

:wave2: to everyone else that I missed.

chat later

And the tooth saga continues...

I did call the dentist. He said "come now". So I did. He repeated yesterday's procedure, and said he thinks the tooth is beyond saving. So--tomorrow I get to go to the Oral Surgeon. That means I get up at 6 am, eat something so I can take drugs, and go back to sleep. I go there at noon. He gives me IV sedation and yanks the tooth. I have to have a friend take me since I can't drive for 24 hours after. that means no gym tomorrow OR Thursday!:scared1: I am SOOOO glad I went today! OMG, 4 days this week with no exercise. I don't like that.

The pain is not too awful now, but it's there. I'll be taking Motrin and going to bed soon, and hopefully I'll get sleep. More Motrin in the AM with the antibiotic, and then nothing else. My poor tummy is not gonna like this.

My dentist assured me that I'll like the oral surgeon. He told me "he's good looking". Hmmm, maybe there's something about my dentist I didn't know?:lmao:

The idea of a gathering next summer sounds great. And the Hotel Hershey will be just fine. Please don't do it while I'm away!

OK, gonna clear up a few things and go to bed. Talk to y'all tomorrow...

Hey TKers I want to thank you all for your compassion in my friend situation, it is still bothering me, but I am not 100% sure what to do about it yet. :confused3

It is SOOOO icy here, you all be careful out there if it is bad by you!

Ok here is my quick prank story before I go to bed.
A few years ago at work just before my lunch break, I cleared EVERYTHING off my desk, stashed it under other people's desk, etc. Had a few people go to our boss and ask what happened to Stacie, she walked out of here saying how she wasn't going to take this anymore and looked so mad. Even had a worker in another building email her and ask what happened to me. So my boss looks everywhere for me to find out what was wrong. Even checked all the stalls in the ladies room. Soooooooo, I come back walk into her office with a VERY mad look on my face, I say I need to talk to you. Well she looks terribly scared and motions for me to sit down. And I say........................

You do know it's APRIL FOOLS DAY, right????? She turned a thousand shades of red and said, oh, I already went to Doug (head of human resources) and told him you walked out!!!!!!!!! :rotfl: Then everyone fessed up to being in on it. The head of HR even cam eup to me the next day and said Good job yesterday. HAHAHA

Morning all:

Well we're getting snow and freezing rain...a good day to stay indoors.

My OB/gyn when I had DD was drop dead gorgeous...just what I wanted when I weighed 200 pounds!!

It's pouring here. No snow in the forecast, thank God. I hate snow. Not a big fan of rain when I have to travel, but it's better than snow.

Pain is mild to moderate this morning. I got up at 6, ate some breakfast and took 4 Motrin. Hopefully that will hold off the pain for another hour or so until I get to the oral surgeon.

I had to run pills over to the school nurse for DS. I left the dog in the family room since I'd just be gone 10 minutes (usually he gets closed in the laundry room). came home and my bottle of antibiotics was missing from the kitchen table! So what do I do? I ask the dog where the heck he put my pills! (I didn't use such a nice word...) Strangely enough, he didn't answer--just looked guilty. So I figured he'd taken them to my room or DDs room. Sure enough, they were on the floor in DDs room, still closed up tight. (Can you say dog proof bottle??!!?? I came out and yelled at him and he just slunk under the table looking VERY guilty.

So that was the excitement for my morning. I guess the day is all downhill from here. At least this *^%&#% tooth will be gone!!
