Just popping in to say good morning to all! I don't have enough time to see what all I've missed.

Just got time to add a few comments...

whgrn, you have my sympathy! Toothaches are a pain! I despise going to the dentist. I have had a few pulled right in the dentist office but never had to go to an oral surgeon. When you get a tooth problem you must get em good! The good thing about getting it pulled is that it won't ever give you any more problems.

M&N, your mom may be right. My teeth hurt pretty bad sometimes when my sinuses are bothering me.

Yeah for good looking oral surgeons and OB/gyns! I never was so lucky. The OB/gyn I had before my current one was an old fart who liked cracking dirty jokes. I would imagine a job like that probably does take it's toll. Now, I just go to our regular MD. I love him but he is short and bald and has a big mole right between his eyes which makes it really hard to look at him without focusing on that mole!

I spent a good part of the last 2 days cleaning up our garage. Well, I don't know that it would be considered any cleaner. It is just scooted and stacked higher. We have been putting off deciding what to do to get DS a gym, probably for over a year now. Debated between buying a storage building and just converting part of the garage. Finally decided to go with the garage. So, I managed to get his half cleared out and they are starting putting up the wall today. He is going to be a happy camper when he gets his own space.

I had icicles hanging off my bird feeder 2 days ago and we also had icy roads. This Texas weather is crazy though... could be 70 degrees today. At least with you guys up north you pretty much know what to expect!

I just remembered a prank that was played on me. After my junior year I was packed up waiting for my parents to take my stuff home. I discovered my bicycle was missing! (my only mode of transportation) I looked all over and finally found it in the guys dorm. (We had segregated housing back then) The guys were looking at me funny as I wheeled out my bike.
whgrn At least there will be an end to the pain.

It's pouring here. No snow in the forecast, thank God. I hate snow. Not a big fan of rain when I have to travel, but it's better than snow.

I ask the dog where the heck he put my pills! (I didn't use such a nice word...) Strangely enough, he didn't answer--just looked guilty. So I figured he'd taken them to my room or DDs room. Sure enough, they were on the floor in DDs room, still closed up tight. (Can you say dog proof bottle??!!?? I came out and yelled at him and he just slunk under the table looking VERY guilty.

So that was the excitement for my morning. I guess the day is all downhill from here. At least this *^%&#% tooth will be gone!!

Thankfully no trip to the vet on top of everything else! Hope that tooth is history now!

well the tooth is still here. i saw the oral surgeon. he agreed it can't be saved. so he cut open the side of my jaw by the tooth to let it drain. i go back friday to have the drains out and i guess he will take the tooth then. still numb but not too uncomfortable. have to sit with an ice pack on my face 15 min on, 15 min off, all day. hard to type 1 handed.

now i have to decide between a bridge and an implant. probably an implant--more stable. which means i'll have a hole in my mouth for the nrxt 10 months. fun.

i'll be back later when i can use both hands.

Well, this just keeps getting better and better. On opt of everyhtin gelse, now I have HIVES! Itching like crazy. Took 2 Benadryl, breathing is oK so no ER for now. But I have to stop the antibiotic, which will slow down the recovery of the abcess. DANG IT!

Thanks for the cool smilies. I can't smile cause it hurts too much, but inside I was grinning like a fool.

Oh goodness! What crazy drama has been going on here! Wendy, you better take care of that tooth, the hives, the abscess, the med bottle, the dog! I think its time to bring in reinforcements....you're are officially overwhelmed. Hope that your luck turns and you can get the tooth thing taken care of and soon!

You can't go get it---then they will think you don't need it back. If the weather weren't so bad I would suggest this--

Its gotten to the point that I don't even make nice when I call the garage. I just identify myself and ask, "well?". And then they tell me the same thing...."we're very sorry....BLAH BLAH BLAH". Once I hear sorry, I just tune it out and try to gain my composure. I may not be able to maintain my ladylike facade for much longer...

I may just have to compromise with them and have them come pick me up and drive me everywhere if they won't give up the car soon!

Hey guys,

Well I thought I was going to come on here tonight and fill you all in on our Duke visit. Unfortunately my dad passed away at 8:30 this morning.

The Dr's at Duke ordered all new tests and we were fairly optimistic when we got home last night because they were going to at least try to help. This morning I got the call that my Dad suffered an apparent massive heart attack and passed away at home(we just got back last night...geeze he stopped to get Kitty Litter after dropping me off!).

When we informed Duke University of his passing they were very supportive (I highly recommend them still, they were not going to give up without a fight that much was made clear to us). The nurse said that his test results from yesterday showed that the cancer had metastasized to the heart muscles and his other lung. He would have had a lot of suffering. As it is now, my Dad was able to go peacefully and with hope.

I am babbling now, but I wanted to come thank you all for your prayers and thoughts over the past year. I will be logging off now, but truly from the bottom of my heart thank you all. I will be on later when I am feeling more up to it. Please pray for my Mom. She needs Gods hugs right now.

I've been praying for him and your family. It's kinda strange because I just prayed the other day to the Heavenly Father asking HIM to do what HE could to help your Dad. I guess HE wanted him to come HOME.

OH PEPPER...I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad.

I lost my Dad 3 years ago...he also wasn't well & was fighting depression, but dropped in the hospital hallway of a heart attack. It was unexpected as he had seemed to be getting better.

The next few weeks will be crazy but let us know if there's anything we can do to help...just remember we're all thinking of you and your Mom.
