I have no idea how the DOW works. But I guess its pretty bad.

Hampton Inn is more my style too. Besides, that gives up more money to spend at Chocolate World!

Still snowing here too. Really pretty. But really cold too.

Regardless of on or offsite, I always rent a car. I like going around Orlando too. I also tend to visit during slow season, when the parks close earlier, so we go offsite to eat or to shop. Must have a Dunkin Donuts run! Or the new McCafes that are popping up everywhere.

Parking is a pain to pay for though. Considering upgrading to AP this trip anyway, so parking fees will be covered!

I'm glad to hear Hersey has a campground. Camping makes visits to WDW and cruises much more luxurious. (Bathrooms, heat/AC..:lmao: )
Even though staying off site is less expensive, we still plan to stay on site. Next time we may stay at Fort Wilderness Campground. There are still many resorts we haven't tried yet. :) We like the bus, never in a hurry and treat it like an amusement ride. ;)
whgrn Hope the groceries make it to your house. :flower3:

Happy Snow Day!

Kids didn't have school today. It doesn't look like we got much but the snow has been blowing so it's hard to tell. Just looked out the window and it's snowing again. I guess it's suppose to do that on and off for the rest of the day.

I wish I could go to Hershey! Are there any trains or bus lines that go out that way? Maybe Sukie and I could find our way out there. It would have to be one of those two ways for transportation because I don't drive; atleast long distances.

Stay safe everyone!

Can you get to Boston? You can take the train down from Boston through NYC to Jersey. i can get you at the station in Hamilton, and I'd be glad to drive you out to Hershey! The more the merrier!

Or if you and Sukie can find a way to Scranton, Pikester, I can come get you there. That's the way I'm going....even somewhere in NY's I-84 region in the Hudson Valley. I'm located between 81/17 and 17/84 if you want to look at a map.

Its a complete white out outside!

TKers---Hershey Bound!

Campground in Hershey link: http://www.hersheypa.com/accommodations/hershey_highmeadow_campground/
There's a small campground closer to where I live too.

I'll check into the hotels nearby too. I know the Hershey Lodge is expensive but they do have packages that include tickets.

Our Giant grocery stores usually have discount coupons but not sure how much off.

They don't have the summer concert series listed yet. These shows are in the park Sunday afternoons/nights. They are usually good.

You all need to figure out what day is best for the park. You can stay longer...do the park 1 day, Hotel Hershey lunch buffet another and get in outlets. I can show you around Amish country. Of course Chocolate World is right outside the park. I haven't been to the Milton Hershey Museum that just opened. I'll be available...I'm so excited!!! We can find something that works for you Pikester---and Sukie too! Who else is coming?

Hi Ladies:

Sounds like the Hershey meet is a go...wish I could come too, but it's a little to far to pop down on my own and I think we head up to northern Ontario that week.

Y'all on that East Coast stay safe now.

Hope you don't get too much. I do have to say... better you than us. Isn't that right Ev????

:thumbsup2 Definitely!!

Weird. The snow stopped a few hours ago and then it got really, really sunny. Like the weather forgot about what it was doing. Its not going to be warm enough to melt (not for a while) but it was trying its darndest to make us believe it knew what spring was supposed to be like.

Ev, if you ever change your mind, or get adventurous, MegaBus runs from Toronto to New York for pretty cheap. It even runs between Toronto and Binghamton, which is about 45 minutes north of Scranton. Just keep it in mind!

Ok, Giant Food stores around here offer pretty good discounts on Hershey tickets. Their website doesn't have prices listed for this year yet but I think we paid about 33.00 for adult admission last year. I'll keep you all updated as to when they list their prices.

I can do an overnight trip or just a day trip. Y'all just let me know.

We didn't get nearly as much snow as they predicted but the kids still had off from school. Only DD5 went outside to play....for a whole 10 minutes before she said it was too cold. That's my girl!!!! :lmao: And of course the others didn't even want to attempt to go out. :thumbsup2 Knew I taught them right.

OMG!!!!! DH just shaved his hair into a mohawk!!!! I think he has officially hit his mid-life crisis. And now he's talking about dyeing it with blond highlights. Where the heck has my husband gone?!

Well, Blonds are supposed to have more fun! :rotfl2:

I guess this wasn't a snowman snow. It's really blowing. This afternoon, I could not see the end of my back yard. I think school will be delayed tomorrow. It was on time today and should not have been. We had around 5 inches but they said in Harrisburg it was 1.1. Thankfully, someone went by and did my sidewalk. They even did the drive. I don't know who did it either. I must have been in my office...didn't even hear them. I am very thankful. They even did it after the plow came and I didn't have the mess to clear away. Hopefully, that was the last of it.
How much did you all get? I know it was worse in NJ in some places. I always think it looks so strange to see snow on the boardwalk.

I was just mapquesting Hershey...is it near Harrisburg PA??

MK...that's great about the bus...but why would I want to go to Scranton??? ;)

I think the only reason they canceled school here is because everything ended with a thin coating of ice on it. Plus our entire town is filled with steep hills. I'll be waiting for the phone calls in the morning about school being delayed.

I think she mentioned to Pikester and Sukie that if they can get to Scranton, she can pick them up for the rest of the way to Hershey.

OK I must have missed that part...I was a little confused for a minute on where exactly Hershey Park was.

The zip is 17033 if you're checking it on MapQuest. It's east of Harrisburg. Not too far. And I don't know why anyone would want to go to Scranton! :lmao:
