Yo pepper! How ya doing? You should so try to make the tker meet. It would be so awesome if you could make it too.

Of course DH couldn't have a cool midlife crisis. A new corvette or maybe a classic mustang. No, he shaves his hair into a mohawk.

12" and only a two hour delay? ha ha. 12" would have shut down our entire city. :scared1: As it turned out we only got a dusting. Suffolk was hit pretty hard (for our area) They got 3". School here was delayed 2 hours, but Suffolk got the day off...lucky ducks ha ha.

Yay on getting the staples out!!!

The 12" was Sunday night into Monday. No school Monday. The 2 hour delay was today.

Mom just called. Dad was up at Lehigh and fell down the steps. He hurt his right arm. Not sure if it's broken, rotator cuff, or what, but it was bad enough that he didn't drive home--someone from up there drove him home and the guy's wife followed in their car. Could be very interesting, since Mom has such major mobility issues, Dad is usually the driver. Not now! And he can kiss his golf season goodbye. Ay yi yi. I hope it turns out to be nothing!

Good evening everyone! Wow sounds like the TK meet in PA is in full on planning mode. Depending on when it is I hope to be able to make it, but can't commit for sure right now.
Had a super busy day, took off the day from work-can't really afford to do that, but needed to get so many things done, and for the most part I accomplished what I had set out to do. Finally! Not that I did it all, but who can in just one day?

Thanks Racetrack! I'll check out that area.

Just have to share...:teacher:
I am giving standardized tests to 2nd graders today. It is so cute to watch their little brains working. Been using every trick in the book to get them to stay calm and focused - sucking on candy, stretching exercises, water, etc. Some of these little ones who have ADHD are actually doing pretty well (all things considered) today. Very proud of them as some of these questions even I have to think about before answering.

I know those tests are scarey for the kids to take. How many days does it take? I know the upper grades have 5 tests to get in.

I am the proud orderer of not one, not two, but three GPS systems! I've been thinking about this for a while now, and the offsite Disney trip and the TKer meet pretty much sealed the deal for me. So I've been shopping. I liked the one I saw at Radioshack.com, so I ordered it. It was the same price as the one on sale at Target this week, so I ordered that one too. I figure I can get both and return the one I like less. But then I saw that the better version (with text to speech) was CHEAPER on samsclub.com! So I ordered that one too.

Apparently, the first two orders were "in process" already (!!!) and I can't cancel them. So I have to wait until they're delivered and then send them back.

I just hope the CC company doesn't think I'm crazy. My BF already does. But since he was being a ninny and not letting me "borrow" his (which I gave him for Christmas), I got my own. And its better than his. So ha!

I also saw on Mousesavers that you can upload Disney POI (points of interest) which will be great for next month!

Just tell BF that yours is sooo much better. You bought him the cheap one! ;)

The nurse came today to take out my staples. Yay! Now I'm just waiting for the physical therapist to call and schedule. It's been a week since my last PT...not a good thing!
I messed up WHGRN's quote...Don't those staples look strange all lined up? It still goes through me thinking of taking a staple remover to your leg! I just can't help but think if getting a staple out of paper...:scared1:

I remember my cousins visiting when we had a lot of snow. They were teenagers and hadn't seen that much snow.
I don't know if judges being appointed make your news but my cousin in Hampton was just appointed...maybe a district judge. Not sure what kind.

Of course DH couldn't have a cool midlife crisis. A new corvette or maybe a classic mustang. No, he shaves his hair into a mohawk.

Maybe he'll need a Mustang convertible (red) to let his hair blow in the breeze.

I was at a Tastefully Simple party tonight. It's soup, dips, and things to eat. Yummy...but I came home hungry...just want more! Maybe I'm just thirsty. I'm going for an orange....

LITC, sometimes you just need to take a day off. Even though things might be tight money wise, if you are over-stressed about home things, you don't work as well. It would be so cool if you could make over for the meet. Nothing is set in stone but we are looking at July 19th, 20th. Keep it in mind, ok?

Hi Race, I will definitely try to make the meet. Fortunately I could drive there I think it took my sister 8 hours last summer when she went. And I would probably have to stay "off-site" then I could probably swing it, keeping my fingers crossed!

Hey there, does anyone on here happen to watch The Bachelor? OMG I just watched the finale from yesterday, man that guy has some uh-hum, nerve!

Don't those staples look strange all lined up? It still goes through me thinking of taking a staple remover to your leg! I just can't help but think if getting a staple out of paper...:scared1:

It was pretty much the same thing, except the staple remover was a good bit bigger than the one for paper. It really wasn't too bad tho. Now I just have the "Frankenstein Scar"!

whgrn-sending good thoughts that it isn't anything serious with your dad.

Thanks. Waiting to hear from him. I love doing a physical assessment over the phone. Can he raise both arms equally without pain? With his shirt off, is there any swelling? Do both shoulders look equal in height? If I dont' like the answers, I'm telling him to go to the ER. I can always hold the threat of no golf for the rest of his life over him!

I only live 1 1/2 hours and I'm looking to stay off site. I think we all are. :thumbsup2

whgrn, I have one of those Frankenstein scars on my knee too. Lovely reminder of a car accident many, many years ago.

M&N, stop talking about food. And good food as it is. We had wonderful frozen pizza for dinner tonight.

Sorry, don't watch Bachelor.

Hey girls!

Wendy, warm wishes and get betters for your Dad!

LITC, I'm glad you took the day off. Obviously, you thought you needed it. Sometimes you just need to hit the "reset" button. I do hope you can make it to Pa...with enough planning, you may be able to do it.

M&N...now I'm hungry too!

Race, tell me about the mohawk!

I watched American Idol tonight. Still too many people. Some of the performances were painful to watch. Some were pretty good--I really liked the Lil Rounds. Great voice. Can't commit to more watching, though.

I don't think some of them realize what an opportunity it was. They were fooling around, trying to be cute. And some of the fashions. Ugh.

But at the beginning, my husband David Cook wasn't exactly the amazingly adorable pooch-y tummy he is now too. There's hope for everyone. But my husband always did have an amazing voice.

For the meet, we should probably just get a block of rooms anyway. I have a feeling that we'll be giggling like school girls again at all hours of the night! Pillow fights and snacks and all! But I should warn you, sometimes I snore. (at least that's what I've been told)

They have all those rehersals and voice coaches before they go on air, they should really point them more towards a better song choice, it't to easy for someone to lose their chance because they choose a really bad song.

Magikitty, shhh, I've been told I snore too. But I still believe it's DH being half awake and hearing himself. :rotfl:

I'm trying to convince DH to keep the mohawk until the Hershey meet. He'd have to to bring the kids since they will not let me anywhere near any amusement park without them.

So you like the mohawk?

We could get matching tee shirts and be like one of the infamous Brazilian tour groups taking over Hershey! Woo-hoo! (and I would love to meet the fam!) :cool1:

It's not bad. There are a lot worse things he could have done. No body piercings so I guess I can live with the mohawk.

Matching t-shirts....hmmm. Winder what I can come up with. :rolleyes1

Did someone say pillow fight?
