D&D---We want you to come to Hershey. Get us the dates and we can go from there. We want as many TKers as possible. Of course, I'm always here! (Well, this summer I do have plans around the 4th but nothing else yet!)

Hi M&N! You're leaving in 19 days! Woo-hoo! Are you packed? Is your Mom going with you?

D&D...have no solid plans yet for the summer (well, except I'm crashing Racetrack's house and we're stalking my husband David Cook). I have no idea how far I am from Hershey, but it can't be THAT far...right? Yeah! TKer meet in Hershey! I'd send you some warm thoughts, but I've been trying that for months now, and its still crazy cold here, so my warm thought-o-meter must be broken!

Good Afternoon!

Just hanging out today and trying to enjoy the last offical day of "February Vacation". I have done a little picking up but the cleaned off surfaces just seem to accumilate more stuff as the kids blow through. I put a load of laundry in the washing machine but I still haven't gone downstairs and switched it over into the dryer. That of course puts a real damper on me being able to add more clothes to the washing machine.

The weather has been gray here today. The temps are in the 40s and it looks like it's raining out but it's only the melted snow dripping off the roof. My DS11 poor snowman that he built Sunday night is now flat on it's back. The kids keep telling me that the snowman is dead. We have one of those snowman kits that comes with the nose, eyes, mouth and buttons. I keep telling DS11 that he needs to out and pick up the body parts.

mariezp: :rotfl2:

whgrn: Sounds like your doing great!

Hello everyone else.

I'm kind of packed...at least my clothes are still together from my trip in Nov. Mom's staying home...the break will do me good. :rolleyes1 I'm flying so it'll be harder to pack plus I'll have to be careful of what I buy. Patrick is stuffed when we drive. Even oranges under the seats.

Better get moving...have a good weekend. Don't think it'll be too warm for us northerners...

Racetrack, the picture from when MK was here is fine.

OK, so what dates are we looking at for a TK meet? the only June dates that WON'T work for me (as of now) are the 12 - 14 (2nd weekend) which is the Special Olympics, so I'll be in Trenton cheering for DD. Other than that I am pretty flexible. Let me know so I can put it on my calendar and keep it free!

I did get dressed, which felt pretty good actually. Not that I did much else. I got through all my exercises one time (have to do them again later), read some magazines and a book, took a short nap, and that's about it. Right now the kids are banished to their rooms for fighting over an iPod neither one is supposed to have today. Geez, the honeymoon lasted 24 hours and they are back to their old cr*p. So nice to be home.

Good morning M&N! and hi-dee-ho to all the other fellow TKers! I finally found a few minutes to pop in and say hi! Seems like there is never enough time in a day to do all that needs to be done and some of what I would like to do. Unfortunately, the needs to be done always wins which has meant lately I've not had much time to relax at my computer.

Aaawwwww, D&DDisney, that's so sweet! You missed me! I've not been sick, just busy. The kids have been through the sickie stuff around here but somehow (knock on wood) DH and I have missed it so far.
The crud has been going around EVERYWHERE! I was so annoyed last night when I went in to pick up my DS from his Jiu-Jitsu class. When I got there it was so hot inside the building! I asked his instructor if being in a sauna was a new part of their workout. He said it felt good to him because HE HAD THE FLU!...... HELLO? Am I the only one who thinks that maybe he should have stayed home? I am going to be so pissed off if our household ends up with the flu!

Okay... skimming over the last dozen or so pages ....

Bopsmom, I am right there with you while the weather has been nice, working in the yard and trying to get some of the plants moved before spring officially gets here. Only problem is I have way to many things I would like to get done and doubt I can possibly get it all done in time. Almost every time I step foot outside to work on a project the phone rings, or DH calls and needs something or DD comes up with something else she needs me to do. I did manage to get 5 plants transplanted this week so I have made some progress. Guess if I was as smart as you I would hire someone else to do it! But I'm trying to save a buck. If I were REALLY REALLY smart I would ask my DS or DH to help me but I am so darn stubborn I don't ask them to help me do ANYTHING if I can find a way to do it myself!
I read a little further and found out you had been sick. I hope you are all better now!

Glad to see you made it back safely MagiKitty! It sounds like you should have brought some warmer weather back with you! I had to laugh about your tubby kitty planning his revenge! We have a cat like that... come to think of it....aren't most cats like that?
Hmmm.... it's not everybody who can say they have been kissed by a sea lion! I've kissed some guys who were kinda like animals but never a sea lion! :lmao:

Pikester, Wow! What a husband! Whoo-hoo for you getting to go to WDW THIS YEAR! :cheer2:

whgrn, so glad to hear that your surgery went well and recuperation is progressing nicely.

pepperw23, hope you have gotten warmed back up by now! I'd send some heat your way if I could! It was almost HOT here today! Almost time to crank up the AC.

racetrack18kb, hope you are all better now!

I am such a moron! I had to go back and reread your post after I read "both my husbands"... I thought good gosh, why would anybody want to have more than one husband? One is more than enough for me! I hope the job situtation continues to hold and even get better.
As for the rest, we too are trying to decide if we should be saving money or going for a short trip. DH was hoping to go to Colorado for Father's Day. I had found us the perfect cabin but our finances have changed considerably so we have pretty much put our plans on hold.
I am avoiding even talking about our annual trip to Disneyland or WDW for fear we won't get to go. Hopefully things will start looking up before November. In the meantime I seem to prefer denial. If I ignore it maybe it will go away. :confused3

We were planning to go see our poor little adopted Granny for her 78th birthday but I found out she is in the hospital. She is currently being kept under observation for "behavioral problems". She went through something similar about a year ago. At the time they were able to adjust her medication and get things back under control. While they ran all their tests they also ended up diagnosing her with Parkinson's Disease. She had been doing well but it appears that she is hearing "little voices" again so she is going through tests again to determine if they can make another adjustment of her meds. There's the possibility it is from the meds but it could possibly be dementia just caused from old age. The situation is just so sad. :sad1:

They moved my DS's Jiu-Jitsu class to a new location which is so much easier to get to. Right now they are still doing some renovations to the building. Last time we went the kids were hanging out together in a small area hidden behind a wall. There were about 8 boys, ages 6-11, and my DD. Well, DD ended up getting hit in the head with a small object and got her feelings hurt from a couple of the boys being mean so she doesn't want to go back anymore. DS seems to think she should just "buck up" cause that's just the way boys are. I understand that unfortunately but on the other hand I do not feel like there is any reason she has to be subjected to it when we can just stay home. I told DS that she had a right to feel that way and asked if he thought it was fair to always just dismiss her feelings. I swear I saw a light go on in his head, like he had never thought of it that way before. YEAH! He's 18 he might actually finally start thinking about someone other than himself every now and then! Anyway, I am thinking DD & I may lay low for awhile and stay home together. Hopefully, they will remove the wall where the parents can keep an eye on their kids. I am also thinking we might start some art activities together at home once a week as something special for her to do. I am liking this new plan already and I know she will love it! :lovestruc
I thought DH might balk at the idea but after I explained the situation and told him DD needed my attention more than DS did at the moment he seemed okay with the idea too. So looks like my 4 day Jiu-Jitsu plan has changed to 1 night Jiu-Jitsu, 1 night grocery shopping, 1 night art projects and 1 free Saturday morning.

So.... I know I missed some TKers out there and I apologize. Howdy to all and I hope everyone has a FABULOUS day!

I did thaw out ha ha. Today was 70 ish so I was happy about that. It is supposed to actually snow here on Monday though!!!!!

We have heat again! The repairman just left. Appears the fan was burned out. Even though the part is under warranty, I don't want to see the bill for labor.

Okay, as far as coming to Hershey I am looking at the following weeks...
July 19-25
July 26- Aug 1
We're planning on going to DC too and I want to write my congressman and ask for free tickets to tour the White House. Whichever week I get the tickets for, that will dictate when we build our vacation around.
Whatever day y'all plan on meeting, I'll work it in. Anyone have a preference as to weekend or weekday?
Also, if any PA folks can tell me a good city that would be centrally located between Hershey and DC area where there might be some good camping, I'd appreciate it. (I know you may have told me this before, but I plum forgot what ya said)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am never leaving the country again.

I was just stalking my husband David Cook on his website and saw that he's kicking off his tour on Saturday----40 minutes from me! I totally missed the announcement and didn't get tickets.

I get some solace on the message boards that claimed tickets were sold out in a few minutes.

But not much solace. It is weighing heavily on my heart. So close, yet again.

He's just teasing me now. I can't stand it. I love his pudgy tummy, scruffiness, and he's got a huge head. I love him. And his new album is amazing.

I'm going to go pout now.

And plot my revenge. I wonder how I'm going to see him on Saturday night. I wonder what I can do, or who I can bribe.

I may be taking this badly because I'm really hungry.

Good evening all. So glad that the weekend is here. I am going to try to get started on my spring cleaning. I see a few of you have started all ready.

mariezp~ Give your "granny" extra  that my help. I am sure DD will love the extra time with you. You know guys, they only have one thought at a time. "GYM" :rotfl2:

M&N~ Planning, packing, going, going, almost gone. ::MickeyMo

whgrn~ I guess your household is back to normal :rotfl:

Pikester~ :cheer2: HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

~~~pepperw23 & D&DDisney are "HOT" mama's again. :sunny:
~~~LITC & MagiKitty are meeting in "WDW". Stay tuned for details.:smickey:

chat later.

Hey there Sukie! Good luck on the spring cleaning this weekend! I refuse to "spring" clean until Mother Nature cooperates on her part and shows that spring actually exists. With this much snow on the ground, I have my doubts! :rotfl2:

Ok, I'll admit I cried a little when I found out about my husband David Cook. I even posted a rather unbecoming begging plea for someone to sell their ticket to me. Its just so not fair.

On the upside, I just realized that they opened the American Idol thing-y at DHS and I may be able to satisfy my cougar-like cravings for my husband David Cook there. At there very least, I can feel better by being in the same venue he once stood in. Sad, I know.

Addendum: don't keep the Kitty down! I have just placed an ad on Craigslist searching for a ticket...still fighting!

Hi all:

Can't believe how much chatting has been going on here lately. Sounds like a meet in Hershey is well underway, not sure if I'm up for the 20 hour drive but we'll see.

I did thaw out ha ha. Today was 70 ish so I was happy about that. It is supposed to actually snow here on Monday though!!!!!

Welcome to my world!!

He's just teasing me now. I can't stand it. I love his pudgy tummy, scruffiness, and he's got a huge head.

 you just called him pudgy, scruffy with a fat head...are you sure you even like him. :lmao:

D&D, I leave for Scotland on July 25, so if you want to meet me, you need to come to PA that first week!! I don't want to miss out on a meet!!

:wave2: whgrn, I wouldn't have thought anything of it if you had stayed in your jammies all day. :ssst: I tend to do that myself! As a matter of fact I was talking to our oldest DD yesterday and we both decided it was normal for some of us to be in our jammies until at least lunch time! And yes, I do go OUTSIDE In my jammies!

:wave2: MagiKitty! I hope you find a way to catch up with your husband, David Cook. He's got a lot of nerve not letting you know he was coming to town!

:wave2: D&DDisney! Yeah for heat!

:wave2: racetrack18kb! Darn! I should have held off a little longer and I would have made it in your siggie! Good thing I didn't... you're running out of room.

:wave2: M&N! I'm tired just after watching all those smilies workout!
Ooooh! Your trip is getting really close!

:wave2: Pikester! I guess body parts are one thing to keep in your front yard! :lmao: I can just imagine a stranger overhearing your conversation with your son!

:wave2: Sukie! Spring cleaning? What's that? You mean all this time I could have been cleaning my house only once a year? Sounds like a plan! ;) Nah.... I am no good at plans. I just wait until someone finally complains and then clean house! :rotfl2:

:wave2: pepperw23! :wave2: DL55!

Well, how about we look at meeting Sunday, July 19 or Monday July 20th?I read that the park is less crowded on Sundays and weekdays, probably even less. If we want to put this in stone, I'll make my plans accordingly. Once we do narrow it down to a date, I'd be happy to help "secretary" this whole gathering - along with a native of PA of course. :thumbsup2

Racetrack - I am so happy... I gained 18 points on my picks this week for qualifying. :yay: We'll see what happens on Sun. but for now, my poor little behind team is happy with this small accomplishment.

Works for me!! :thumbsup2

whgrn Noticed your siggy..only 1 pound to go!!:cheer2:
I wish I could meet but my DH wouldn't be interested in driving that far (to meet "strangers" ) plus we are going to Alaska in August so no travel except camping.
Temps are back to normal..low 60s and windy. :sad1:

Well, it WAS 1 pound to go, but I am so filled up with fluid after surgery that right now it's about 13 pounds. Soon...

Evening Ladies! Someone please remind me closer to June about the tentative Hershey dates. As of now, it looks good to me too!

Despite all my hopes and positive vibes, I did not score a last minute ticket to see my husband David Cook tomorrow night. Great sadness and melancholy over here. I'm using my continuing sickness as a blanket of solace. Maybe some pie too.

Wendy, maybe all that excess fluid will wash away that extra pound!

I just have to say that y'all are the BEST!!! :grouphug: I just opened my mail and had cards and letters from M&N, Pikester, and MagiKitty, and my flowers from Bopsmom get more beautiful every day, and I've already had several cards before this. I feel so special!!! I am so blessed to have all of my wonderful DIS friends! I absolutely cannot wait to meet some of you this summer. And MK, I am LOVING the idea of the Hotel Hershey!! Chocolate and a spa, what more could you want?!?:lmao:

MK, so sorry you are still feeling lousy. Shall I send you up some chicken soup?

I was able to attend the christening today of my cousins twins. It was so nice, and I had a wonderful time. I did have quite a bit of discomfort in the church, but took my Percocet as soon as we got to the reception and I had some food. No problem after that.

Tonight we are supposed to get the beginnings of a NJ slop storm, followed by a snowstorm tomorrow night and Monday with a forecast of 6-9 inches of snow!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: That means I will be confined to my house for days--no way can I go out if there is snow on the ground! So no church tomorrow, no doctor on Monday, and no grocery store on Tuesday. Waaahhh!!! I hope the weatherman is wrong as usual and we get nothing. But I suspect that my luck has just run out. Ugh.

Well, time to get up off my butt and walk around. I seem to be developing some sort of sore area on my rear end, so I need to give it a rest from sitting so much. I do NOT need bedsores!!!
