Hi Wendy! So glad you got my letter. I sent it on a rainy day and I was worried that the ink would run and you couldn't read it! We'll have to rope M&N in with our hotel plans for that weekend...

Thanks for the chicken soup! My throat is scratchy from the deep cough I can't seem to shake. It sounds like that old smoker's cough. I am still taking a cough suppressant, but I'm rather bad at taking it all the time. Thankfully I haven't had a fever, so its just a matter of kicking this silly cough.

I can't beleive you were running around today!

I saw the news coverage of the storm coming. Its supposed to hit your area more than mine, but it seemed that even the weatherman was a little scared of what may develop. They're not sure just which direction its going to take, it can either hit east of I-95, or come more inland and pack a huge wallop. They're calling it a "March lion" which always means bad news. Get your supplies now!

That's just it--I CAN'T get them now! I can't drive! And even if it isn't too bad tomorrow, I can't go anywhere, becuase if the ground is at all slippery, I can't take the risk of falling. So I am stuck. P**p!!!

BTW, MK, your handwriting is better than most doctors'!!

Late night hello to everyone!!! So far it's looking like most of the snow will miss us. They are predicting 1-3 but knowing the weatherman, we'll end up with 12. They never get it right. :lmao:

D&D, you may be behind right now but the season is long. Plenty of time to make it up. And really, you are not that far behind my brother. You already beat us all in qualifying. Oh, and those dates work great for me. If you need to change them, those dates will work for me too. No plans after the first week of June except to meet all my Tker friends. :thumbsup2

whgrn, sorry they are predicting snow for you. As much as I hate snow, I'd gladly take the full storm they are predicting for you and give you our little bitty forecast. Hope the weathermen are wrong on your forecast.

Magikitty-I'm just getting over that cough. Man, it s*cked. I could never remember to take the medicine either. Didn't help that it tasted horrible either.

Well, it WAS 1 pound to go, but I am so filled up with fluid after surgery that right now it's about 13 pounds. Soon...

Hey Wendy :wave2:
I am hopelessly behind on the posts but I had to jump in when I saw this.

I wanted to ask if you took the weight of the replacement into consideration? My Mom says her's 'feels heavy' and did change her weight by a few pounds.-hey, that's her story and she's stickin' to it.:goodvibes

We are supposed to get a hard freeze tonight. Nothing like what ya'll are getting I know.
I am glad I told the guys to leave my ginger alone.n They got hit over the winter but, if I'd cut them it would just freeze more off.

Of course it's rodeo time here and we usually get cold wet weather for it-we got the cold yesterday-but really needed the rain. -It is terribly windy, has been for days--45 mph winds no kite flying for us-yet. The wind just makes the drought and fire danger worse. We had a big grass fire near here 2 weeks ago-I am just waiting for some dumb *** golfer to drop his cigar and torch the golf course behind me.

I am still trying to catch up to what is going on in TK World.
Between modum issues here and working on the fundraiser I haven't been around a lot. DH was in the valley(Mexico border) all week and he leaves tomorrow for SanFran(my heart bleeds for him:sad2: )
I do feel bad for him, he's going to DD's first band concert:guilty:

Well I'd better hit send on this before the modum goes down-again.

Hope all of you stay warm and don't get too much 'slop' with the storm-
Spring is coming. :flower3:

whgrnThe bright side of fluid retention it should be easy to take off. Everyone says that the first few pounds you lose is water, right? :rolleyes1 Hoping the weatherman is wrong.
Hi Bopsmom and everyone else.

Well, that could be true, except the replacement is the same as the old one, so I imagine it weighs pretty much the same. I think it really is all fluid. Seems a bit less each day.

i just placed my first-ever online grocery order! It was so cool! I had hoped that on Tuesday when the housekeeper is here she could go to the store and I could go along and ride on one of the little motorized carts. but with the snow, I will not be able to leave the house. So I ordered online and it will be delivered tomorrow between 1 and 4 as long as the snow isn't too bad. So, my order was $102, and they charge $10 for delivery. How much do I tip the delivery guy?

The nurse from the VNA came today. she was really nice. I will get a home health aide 3 days a week starting Wednesday to help with a shower (ahhhhh! Can't WAIT for a shower!), and she will also do "foot care", which means she will massage lotion into my poor dry feet! sheer luxury! PT will start Tuesday, blood work will be Tuesday and Thursday this week, and then Monday and Thursday for the rest of the month. (have to have clotting time checked twice a week as long as I am on this Coumadin). The nurse will come Tuesday and take out the staples (I had planned to go to the doctor tomorrow to get them out, but Mother Nature has other ideas..)

So, if I have to be housebound, at least I'll have company! Not looking forward to the kids having a snow day, but what can ya do? AND I just heard that the 6-9 inches we are expecting could be worse--there is a "band" that will get up to 15 inches! And of course, that band will probably go right over my house! Ugh, how I hate snow!

Good Sunday afternoon Ladies! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day---even if some of us are getting the patootie scared out of us by this coming storm. Honestly, this entire winter has been horrible, but I haven't seen the forecasters scrambling like this before. It seems to be getting stronger and nastier by the second. We'll just have to see. Until then--get ready everyone!

I see that Wendy is all set. Cool to order online. I hope your groceries get to you! Been trying to convince myself to make a grocery list but its not working. I always have frozen veggies and eggs. The supply of champions.

I'm driving myself crazy looking for a receipt for an item I want to return. I thought I had put it safely away--I had a feeling I would return it--but now I can't remember where that safe place is. Grrr...

Thanks for the compliment on my handwriting Wendy! I think BF just complains so I won't write him lovenotes. Because then he's obligated to return lovenotes and he's just not the mushy kind. And then I say that my husband David Cook is so eloquent and writes love songs. Which my BF replies, "but he doesn't write them FOR YOU". :rotfl2: Hee hee, if only he knew....

Racetrack, I'm a strong woman. But I cannot take cough syrup, or any other sort of liquid medication. I hate it! I'd rather suffer. Give me big old horse pills anyday. Glad your cough seems to have gone away!

Hey everyone, wanted to pop on over and say hello! Had to do both jobs this week, and i just found out next week also. Ugh, I am so tired! But with the job situation being shaky gotta do it while it's available. And did I mention I am trying to come up with a way to work a 3rd job? I think I am officially nuts-o! :scared1:
Hey Marie--yes one husband is far enough for me as well, no pushing my luck trying for two!!
Well I should probably get running I have spent the last 3 hours or so ignoring the cleaning I need to do. It's so tough to spend your only day off trying to catch up on that stuff, I'd really rather rest, watch tv and dis!

whgrn Noticed your siggy..only 1 pound to go!!:cheer2:
I wish I could meet but my DH wouldn't be interested in driving that far (to meet "strangers" ) plus we are going to Alaska in August so no travel except camping.Temps are back to normal..low 60s and windy. :sad1:

You could camp with us DL55.
2.gif
That's pretty much the only way we get to travel. (except for WDW - haven't camped there yet)
Hey.... maybe we should have a big TK bonfire party!:
1.gif

Hey Killers! Once again I need to play catch up but it seems the boards are running slow! So I only got to read a couple of pages up to page 95.
So just wanted to give a quick hello. Are we all ready for the big East coast Snow Storm????? Well we (and the kids) need one snow day, then can we bring on the spring, please.
Okay try to check back later, hope all stay safe and warm:goodvibes

Real quick Wendy I see your little green light on. How are you doing I have be keeping up (well to the best of my computer skill knowledge:rotfl:) on FB. Seems like your kickin ***! You go girl.

Well, have to get in here with a little bragging.

KYLE BUSCH WON THE RACE TODAY!!!

Ok, I'm done. :rotfl:

Looks like we are getting a bad storm. Went out grocery shopping and it actually wasn't too crowded. Plenty of bread left. I guess the kids won't have school tomorrow. I think we have be getting close on our snow days allowed. Thankfully the district works in extra vacation days that can be used as make-up days before they extend the school year.

D&D, what a bummer for Kenseth today. I had him on my list but didn't start him. I can't believe all the problems Jimmie had today. Very unusual too.

LITC, I'd rather be dising instead of cleaning any day. And I agree, one husband is more than enough.

Magikitty, I'm just opposite. I can't take the giant horse pills. Give me liquid medicine any day.

whgrn, sounds like you have a busy week lined up. And that on-line shopping sounds great. Is is a local store that offers that?

disney54us, see...I knew I shouldn't remove you from my siggie. You keep disappearing on us.

Hey Racetrack - Cograts on the Kyle win. :thumbsup2 I knew I should have started him.:headache: Ended up being convinced to pick Johnson. First that dork almost runs over his pit crew then crashes towards the end. Ugh!!!!
That was something about all the engines going today and all the cautions. :sad2: Knew Kenseth wouldn't do well this week cause he wasn't starting in the 24/25th spot and it didn't rain. Maybe next week.

Y'all on that East Coast stay safe now.
11.gif
Hope you don't get too much. I do have to say... better you than us. Isn't that right Ev???? We've got more than our share of snow for this season. Don't need any more snow days to make up either. :sad2:
Even our Texas gals are freezing
13.gif

D&D, where did Jimmie leave his brain this week? :rotfl: And you are right about Kenseth being out of his comfortable spot of 20 something for qualifying. It will be interesting to see how the points shake out this week.

Well, here's the latest. We have about 2 inches of snow so far, and it's snowing hard. School has already been cancelled for tomorrow. The kids are thrilled. I am not amused.

The grocery store i ordered from is local, but I know alot of stores do it. Stop and Shop used PeaPod and that is available all over the country--my friend down south uses it too.

Well, I'm off to bed. I may just sleep all day tomorrow so i can ignore the ugly white stuff...

Evening ladies!

DH wanted to stay in and sleep today so we played hookie from church this morning. I have been on the computer practically all day trying to make some headway and comparison shopping for WDW lodging.

I am pretty sure we will stay off site if we go. I've been reading great things about staying in the Windsor Hills Resort rentals so.... I filled out a request form this morning. Within 5 minutes I bet I had at least a dozen responses! Over the course of the day I have probably had 40-50! I have weeded out at least 20. Good Lord! Who knew there were so many choices! Does anyone really live in the WDW area or does everyone just rent out a home? Anyway, I can't say that I have made lots of progress but I have done A LOT of looking and seen some really nice places.

I knew I should have picked Jr...he finished better than any of my picks!

I'm too far east...only supposed to get 1-3 inches. Not going to cry over that. When I heard the forcast this afternoon, I came home. It's going to be worse tomorrow I guess with the blowing. They did say Lancaster could get 3-5 but they keep changing it so I didn't take any chances. I stopped by the store for milk and the bread was low here! It's not even snowing at my house but it is in Lancaster.

I just read through quickly so multiquotes but saw Hershey dates mentioned. If you want the brunch at Hotel Hershey, it cannot be on a Sunday. I know there is a campground in Hershey. I can check on hotels too if anyone needs me to.

Good snowy morning everyone! Up here, we didn't get as much snow as farther downstate, but it is still snowing and its that heavy, wet snow that makes it especially hazardous to get around in. Regardless, everyone keep safe and warm. MSP--how much are you going to get up there?

Marie, we're totally staying offsite and its saving us so much money. Also, I'm travelling with two teenagers, and I cannot stress the importance of a fully stocked fridge and two bathrooms! We exchanged our timeshare, but I've heard really great stuff about Windsor Hills.

Congrats to everyone on Kyle winning yesterday. I don't really know how this game is going, but I'm happy if you are.

M&N...thanks for the info about brunch! Planning is still in its early stages, but since you are our resident Hershey pro, we'll be relying on your for guidance. Wendy and I are coming into town, so I think we'll be needing the hotel info. At least, I know I will! I'm not a good camper. Heck, I'm not even a bad camper. I'm just not a camper at all. 16 days until you're on vacay in Orlando! Woo-hoo!

LITC...yes a third job is crazy! But good luck to you in whatever you decide!

Have a good day all! And hope that this is the last of the winter season for all of us.

Well, we have about 8 inches. It was still snowing pretty hard until just a little while ago. But my driveway is plowed, my front walk is shoveled and even the icicles (sp??) are knocked down. Thank God for my landscaper!

The DOW is under 7000, and my main stock is down under 40 (from above 80!). I am watching my savings go down the drain. Good thing my vacation is already paid for or I might have had to cancel it! I'm trying to explain to the kids why we are not opening the pool this summer. Never mind the high cost of pool maintenance (I can't do it, and the kids are still too small), but we need a major renovation, and I simply don't have the money to do it this year. So no pool. They'll get over it. Heck, they'll be at camp for 5 of the 10 weeks of summer, and Cape May for almost 2 weeks, so they wouldn't be using it that much anyway.

As far as Hershey, yes I will need hotel info. I am a Harmon. The Harmons DO NOT camp!:rotfl: Much as I'd love to stay at the Hotel Hershey, the local Hampton Inn may be more realistic in this economy! but heck, give me all the info and i'll decide. Where is everyone else staying? I'll go with the crowd (as long as it isn't camping!) I am really getting very excited about the idea of meeting all my TKer buddies. I got 2 more cards today (thanks Debbie and Bobbie). You all are the best!!

The grocery store called a little bit ago to say they had cancelled all deliveries today due to the snow. So my order will arrive first thing tomorrow morning instead. Since I hadn't planned on shopping until tomorrow anyway, that's just fine. It just means I had to scramble to defrost something for dinner tonite. Big fight between the kids. DD wanted meatloaf. DS for some reason says he doesn't like it anymore. So we ended up with Spaghetti Pie. I swear they will drive me to drink before this day is over!

Good idea to stay off site. So much cheaper that way. We have stayed on and off and prefer the off. Also rather drive than use the bus service. So much more convenient. Good luck with your planning.

I just read through quickly so multiquotes but saw Hershey dates mentioned. If you want the brunch at Hotel Hershey, it cannot be on a Sunday. I know there is a campground in Hershey. I can check on hotels too if anyone needs me to.
Should we plan for Monday July 20th then? How many TKers do we have that are interested? I don't need to do the brunch and can meet up with y'all later on. We will probably be camping and I have looked at the Hershey campground. You can send me any other types of info.

Can't believe the DOW is under 7000  but I can't say I didn't see this coming. I have a feeling it will get even lower before it gets better. This is going to be some ride.

Whgrn - Glad you got your card already.

Sure made it there fast. I just sent it out on Friday.
