I'm excited about the festival. My friends say it's wonderful. Unfortunately, I'll be there at the beginning. They said later is better because the flowers have grown some.

Hey there Racer. We went running around and felt like breakfast around 7. We went to 2 Targets and they were out of what I saw in the ad...of course that was Sunday and this is Thurs so I should be glad they were busy...but I'm not. I wanted plastic storage cubes for my closet. The plastic drawer thing I have doesn't open good with the heavy scrapping stuff I have in them and I need to stack stuff on top. I did get 1 cube so I can try it for size. They will just cost 3 more dollars each when they get more in. I guess I could have asked for a rain check but the kid I asked about it didn't volunteer any so maybe they don't do that. I have lots of great ideas but that's all they are. I have to get it done before I go to FL.
Lunch was really better. We went to a pub like place and has soup and sandwich and caught up on school gossip. The 3 of us are retired so we could talk about everyone else...really didn't except for the principal we didn't like.

I'm not looking forward to the race this weekend. I will loose my #1 spot. It's downhill from now on I'm afraid. I didn't pick Jr again...He'll probably win. I still have to root for him. I didn't check out your picks.

It's tough at the top. :rotfl: I'm hoping Johnson does good. He's on both my lists this week. And I need to do some catching up.

I need to start organizing my stuff too. It would be easier if DH didn't have 3 race tires stacked in our storage room.

Sounds like you had a fun day except for Target not having what you needed. Isn't is always that way?

I saw a post about a photobook you can do with Photopass pics and upload some of your own. Anyone try it? I am trying to find out more about it but the link they gave had only prices for getting both the cd and the book.

I've only gotten the cd but I looked on the photopass site and they list the books for 50.00. From what they showed, they look really nice. You can add borders to all the pages and stuff. You can use up to 80 pictures but I wonder if you can add your own pics to it too?

Well, it's an hour since you said you were going to bed. The real time is almost 11:30. I'm going to my 1 a month breakfast at 6:30 tomorrow so I had better head that way too.
I put Jimmie but not Jeffie this week.
Chat tomorrow before I go to Mom's...Night

I know I should have been in bed a while ago but if felt good to be on here again.

Night!!! See ya tomorrow!!!

Good Morning! I just feel a little springy this morning. I'm ignoring the possibilty of the s word. :scared1: Only s showers anyway.

I've been out to breakfast with my usual 'last Friday of the month' group. I'm going to the fitness center around 11 so have a little time to do something. It would be crawling back into bed but the sun is out too much.

BTW Racer---Looks like we picked pretty close this week. I ignored #18. :rolleyes1 Don't come down on me too hard since I also didn't include Jr. I'm only hoping I have a 'top 10' pick...you know how they all say 'I had a top 10 car' ntil I was wrecked-or until the engine blew-etc!

Good morning M&N! and hi-dee-ho to all the other fellow TKers! I finally found a few minutes to pop in and say hi! Seems like there is never enough time in a day to do all that needs to be done and some of what I would like to do. Unfortunately, the needs to be done always wins which has meant lately I've not had much time to relax at my computer.

Aaawwwww, D&DDisney, that's so sweet! You missed me! I've not been sick, just busy. The kids have been through the sickie stuff around here but somehow (knock on wood) DH and I have missed it so far.
The crud has been going around EVERYWHERE! I was so annoyed last night when I went in to pick up my DS from his Jiu-Jitsu class. When I got there it was so hot inside the building! I asked his instructor if being in a sauna was a new part of their workout. He said it felt good to him because HE HAD THE FLU!...... HELLO? Am I the only one who thinks that maybe he should have stayed home? I am going to be so pissed off if our household ends up with the flu!

Okay... skimming over the last dozen or so pages ....

Bopsmom, I am right there with you while the weather has been nice, working in the yard and trying to get some of the plants moved before spring officially gets here. Only problem is I have way to many things I would like to get done and doubt I can possibly get it all done in time. Almost every time I step foot outside to work on a project the phone rings, or DH calls and needs something or DD comes up with something else she needs me to do. I did manage to get 5 plants transplanted this week so I have made some progress. Guess if I was as smart as you I would hire someone else to do it! But I'm trying to save a buck. If I were REALLY REALLY smart I would ask my DS or DH to help me but I am so darn stubborn I don't ask them to help me do ANYTHING if I can find a way to do it myself!
I read a little further and found out you had been sick. I hope you are all better now!

Glad to see you made it back safely MagiKitty! It sounds like you should have brought some warmer weather back with you! I had to laugh about your tubby kitty planning his revenge! We have a cat like that... come to think of it....aren't most cats like that?
Hmmm.... it's not everybody who can say they have been kissed by a sea lion! I've kissed some guys who were kinda like animals but never a sea lion! :lmao:

Pikester, Wow! What a husband! Whoo-hoo for you getting to go to WDW THIS YEAR! :cheer2:

whgrn, so glad to hear that your surgery went well and recuperation is progressing nicely.

pepperw23, hope you have gotten warmed back up by now! I'd send some heat your way if I could! It was almost HOT here today! Almost time to crank up the AC.

racetrack18kb, hope you are all better now!

Things are getting better now, jobs (both my husbands and mine) are not on the most stable ground, but for now I just have to keep plugging away and hope for the best. We have both survived the cuts thus far-hopefully that is a good sign.

Trying to just look forward to the vaca. Maybe not the best time to spend money on a vaca, but I know how much it is going to help my stress level. I know I am going to have a blast!
I am such a moron! I had to go back and reread your post after I read "both my husbands"... I thought good gosh, why would anybody want to have more than one husband? One is more than enough for me! I hope the job situtation continues to hold and even get better.
As for the rest, we too are trying to decide if we should be saving money or going for a short trip. DH was hoping to go to Colorado for Father's Day. I had found us the perfect cabin but our finances have changed considerably so we have pretty much put our plans on hold.
I am avoiding even talking about our annual trip to Disneyland or WDW for fear we won't get to go. Hopefully things will start looking up before November. In the meantime I seem to prefer denial. If I ignore it maybe it will go away. :confused3

We were planning to go see our poor little adopted Granny for her 78th birthday but I found out she is in the hospital. She is currently being kept under observation for "behavioral problems". She went through something similar about a year ago. At the time they were able to adjust her medication and get things back under control. While they ran all their tests they also ended up diagnosing her with Parkinson's Disease. She had been doing well but it appears that she is hearing "little voices" again so she is going through tests again to determine if they can make another adjustment of her meds. There's the possibility it is from the meds but it could possibly be dementia just caused from old age. The situation is just so sad. :sad1:

They moved my DS's Jiu-Jitsu class to a new location which is so much easier to get to. Right now they are still doing some renovations to the building. Last time we went the kids were hanging out together in a small area hidden behind a wall. There were about 8 boys, ages 6-11, and my DD. Well, DD ended up getting hit in the head with a small object and got her feelings hurt from a couple of the boys being mean so she doesn't want to go back anymore. DS seems to think she should just "buck up" cause that's just the way boys are. I understand that unfortunately but on the other hand I do not feel like there is any reason she has to be subjected to it when we can just stay home. I told DS that she had a right to feel that way and asked if he thought it was fair to always just dismiss her feelings. I swear I saw a light go on in his head, like he had never thought of it that way before. YEAH! He's 18 he might actually finally start thinking about someone other than himself every now and then! Anyway, I am thinking DD & I may lay low for awhile and stay home together. Hopefully, they will remove the wall where the parents can keep an eye on their kids. I am also thinking we might start some art activities together at home once a week as something special for her to do. I am liking this new plan already and I know she will love it! :lovestruc
I thought DH might balk at the idea but after I explained the situation and told him DD needed my attention more than DS did at the moment he seemed okay with the idea too. So looks like my 4 day Jiu-Jitsu plan has changed to 1 night Jiu-Jitsu, 1 night grocery shopping, 1 night art projects and 1 free Saturday morning.

So.... I know I missed some TKers out there and I apologize. Howdy to all and I hope everyone has a FABULOUS day!

Hey Racetrack, which picture of me do you have with the flat TKers? Is it the fat one from Scotland, or the newer thin one? If it's still the fat one, I will have to send you a new one, since "Fat Wendy" isn't going ANYWHERE!!!

Well, I seem to have lost 9 of the 20 pounds I "gained" in the hospital (from filling up with fluid after surgery). Not bad since Saturday! Hopefully by the end of next week I'll be back to normal, or close.

I slept SOOOOO well last night in my very own bed! Woke up this AM to the phone and my mom yelling. The kids were fooling around and managed to miss the bus. Well, I can't drive, Mom's car is at her house with my Dad (his car died and is at the shop), and the neighbors have all left for work. So, they will be quite late. Daddy is due here any time now to take Mom home, so he will take them. Ahhh, it never ends. So nice to be home and back to "normal". The really good thing is I took Percocet before bed, and didn't need any overnight!

Now, should I bother to get dressed today?? Or just sit here in my flannel jammies? Hmmmmm, decisions decisions! I guess since it's already over 50 degrees and going to nearly 60, I will want to go outside, so I'll have to get dressed.

My Aunt Lucy must have known I am hitting the diet again. She sent me this e-mail this morning. Keeping with the ideas of diets, good health and exercise I gotta share this one with you:

Subject: A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM

A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM
If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong with
you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a
regular workout routine.

Dear Diary,
For my birthday this year, my Husband (the dear) purchased a week of
personal training at the local health club for me.

Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football
cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead
and give it a try.

I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named
Christo, who identified himself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and
model for athletic clothing and swim wear.

My husband seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club
encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.

________________________________
MONDAY:
Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was
well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Christo waiting
for me. He is something of a Greek god - with blond hair, dancing eyes and
a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!!

Christo gave me a tour and showed me the machines. I enjoyed watching the
skillful way in which he conducted his aerobics class after my workout
today. Very inspiring!

Christo was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already
aching from holding it in the whole time he was around. This is going to
be a FANTASTIC week-!!

________________________________
TUESDAY:
I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door.
Christo made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air then
he put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I
made the full mile. His rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel
GREAT-!! It's a whole new life for me.

_______________________________
WEDNESDAY:
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the
counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a
hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer
or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot.

Christo was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other
club members. His voice is a little too perky for that early in the
morning and when he scolds, he gets this nasally whine that is VERY
annoying.

My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Christo put me on the stair
monster. Why the hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an
activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Christo told me it would help me
get in shape and enjoy life. He said some other **** too.

_______________________________
THURSDAY:
******* was waiting for me with his vampire-like teeth exposed as his
thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a
half an hour late - it took me that long to tie my shoes.

He took me to work out with dumbbells. When he was not looking, I ran and
hid in the restroom. He sent some skinny ***** to find me.

Then, as punishment, he put me on the rowing machine -- which I sank.
_________________________________
FRIDAY:
I hate that ******* Christo more than any human being has ever hated any
other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic,
anorexic little aerobic instructor. If there was a part of my body I could
move without unbearable pain, I would beat him with it.

Christo wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if
you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the damn barbells or
anything that weighs more than a sandwich.

The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition
teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or
the choir director?

________________________________
SATURDAY:
Satan left a message on my answering machine in his grating, shrilly
voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing his voice made
me want to smash the machine with my planner; however, I lacked the
strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight
hours of the Weather Channel.

________________________________
SUNDAY:
I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and
thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my
husband will choose a gift for me that is fun -- like a root canal or a
hysterectomy. I still say if God had wanted me to bend over, he would have
sprinkled the floor with diamonds!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That was hilarious! I know the feeling all too well!

Morning all:

Well the rain has turned to snow here...I WANT SPRING!!

I saw a post about a photobook you can do with Photopass pics and upload some of your own. Anyone try it? I am trying to find out more about it but the link they gave had only prices for getting both the cd and the book.

I had a book made up of DD's Princess Day (BBB & CRT) using both Photopass and my own pics. Turned out real nice and will make a great keepsake...I didn't tell DH was it cost!

Now, should I bother to get dressed today?? Or just sit here in my flannel jammies? Hmmmmm, decisions decisions! I guess since it's already over 50 degrees and going to nearly 60, I will want to go outside, so I'll have to get dressed.

Nah go outside in your jammies...you're recovering from surgery so can do anything you want.

Good morning everyone! Thanks for all the Spring-like sentiments. It is definitely NOT spring in upstate New York today. Its that ugly grey outside. I think it wants to snow, but its a little too warm at the moment. I didn't even bother consulting the weather report.

thanks M&N for the band schedule. I would really LOVE to see the Fifth Dimension---I love love love them! I especially love "Wedding Bell Blues". Seems like I will be there for Chubby Checker, which I don't mind too much. You'll have to tell us how your trip went so I know what to expect for mine!

I am giddily excited to meet LITC. I've been telling everyone. They just look at me like I'm nuts.

Wendy, I second Ev's suggestion. Stay in your pajamas. Go out in them if you'd like. You deserve it. Sorry your morning seems to have gotten up on the crazy end.

Hi Marie! Good to see you again. I like your idea of special time with your DD. Time flies so fast, and you'll cherish those special moments together. Also, with spring coming, I'm sure there are lots of projects you both can embark on. I actually was tempted to clean last night, but I quickly came to my senses and watched Grey's Anantomy and ER.

Hello to everyone! Have a good day! Its the first Friday of Lent and I have to keep reminding myself that I'm Catholic, so no meat for me. I'm trying to get excited about salad. Its not really working.

Whgrn - I agree... go outside in your jammies. You're recovering so anything goes.
Aaawwwww, D&DDisney, that's so sweet! You missed me! I've not been sick, just busy. The kids have been through the sickie stuff around here but somehow (knock on wood) DH and I have missed it so far.
I am going to be so pissed off if our household ends up with the flu!

Of course I missed ya buddy. We know when one of our own is missing. Glad everything is okay there. Hope you don't get the flu. That was really rude of him to show up and maybe pass it along to others. I'd be PO'd too. :sad2:
Hello to everyone! Have a good day! Its the first Friday of Lent and I have to keep reminding myself that I'm Catholic, so no meat for me. I'm trying to get excited about salad. Its not really working.
How about getting excited about a fish :fish: sandwich or some egg salad? I'm in the same boat with you sister! Think we're going to have some mac 'n cheese for lunch and maybe pancakes for supper.
I just love lent - NOT!

We're still hoping to come out East this summer. Probably mid to late July or early Aug. If y'all plan something for one of those weeks, I'll be sure to get my butt in gear and plan this vacation. I'd love to meet y'all at Hershey this summer!!!

Well our heater decided to go out on us last night. Woke up to 50* temps in the house. :cold: and 20s outside. Luckily the sun is out today. Called the repair guy and should be here around noon. Please send some warm thoughts our way. :beach:

Sounds like another TK meet at the beginning of May. :)
mariezp Glad to hear from you. :woohoo: a week at the gym..:rotfl:
D&DDisney Hope the repairman gets there early. :goodvibes

Afternoon! Windy and little rainy here today. They have another wind advisory out. I'm so tired of the wind.

marie, nice to see you back. Was starting to wonder if I'd have to add you to my siggie. I can't believe the instructor showed up with the flu. :scared1: That's just crazy.

whgrn, I have pics of you from when you and Magikitty met up. Do you want to use something even more recent? Just email me and I'll take care of it. :goodvibes

D&DDisney, yes, get your butt in gear and plan that vacation. :rotfl: I have been waiting to see what you are going to do.

Ev, sorry it's snowing again. :flower3:

Hello to everyone else!!!!
