lighttech, sorry you are still sick. It seems to be going around here alot this year. Everything just seems to be lingering instead over going away.

I don't like this idea about IASW. Some things just don't need to be messed with. It's only at Disneyland right now but usually if they change a ride at one park, they will change it at another.

I did find a video of the changes if any of you are interested.

Funny thing though, for how the disers freak out over the littliest things, I only found one small thread on the Disneyland forums about this. :lmao:

Great, now that song is gonna be stuck in my head!!!

I don't think the changes look too bad. Guess I'll see when/if I ever get to DL!!!

I haven't watched the videos, but I gotta say I'm a traditionalist about a lot of the rides. But, it does depend on how its done. I liked some of what they did to HM, but not all of it, for example. But, this kind of bums me out. I really do feel that the ride was great as it was... even if it was a little dated. And, the whole spirit of the ride was non-commercial. Now, I understand that as much as we like to ignore it, Disney is a company and in the business of making money, but this seems a bit garish to me. But, like Whgrn said, I need to see it before passing judgement.

I will say, though, that I don't buy the argument of updating it for today's kids. There were Disney characters I loved when I was little, and I didn't like IASM any less b/c the characters weren't there. I loved it. And, when we took DS in the fall, IASM was one of his favorite rides, and that was the "old" one. Its one of my favorite memories, actually, his jaw dropped the minute the ride started and he looked like a deer in headlights the whole time. Then when it was over, he just started grinning from ear to ear and asked if we could do it again.

Thanks for the healthy wishes. The weak tea and toast stayed down alright this morning, so I've moved onto Chicken broth and crackers for lunch. Keeping my fingers crossed... :cool1:

Ok, the video isn't as bad as I thought it would be. At least the characters are in the style of ride. I couldn't imagine a modern Ariel in the middle of all of those stylized kids.

lighttech sorry you don't feel well. :flower3: I don't mind changes , I'll wait and see how it looks.
mariezp I had a Pinto because that's all I could afford. My parents only lent me $500, I had saved $1000...so it only cost $1500 and very reliable. Wish I could get a reliable car for that now. :rotfl2:

lighttech, I saw that too. Too bad I already bought our tickets. It's always that way. We are going in the beginning of June. And wouldn't you know it. since we are not visiting Disney this year, I've gotten 3 pin codes already. Never fails. :rotfl2:

I watched the video and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I think Jasmine and Aladdin fit in really well. They are not as noticeable but the others do stand out. I just kind of think, if it's not broke, why fix it? There are plenty of character rides and sometimes there just isn't a need to add them everywhere. And that goes for POTC. Love Jack Sparrow but he wasn't really needed in that ride.

I entered the night of the superbowl and won one.
I think it was for the first 100,000 so they still may have more.

I afraid to watch the video for fear of having IASW stuck in my head all day like Wendy:rotfl2:

Hope LT feels better soon.:goodvibes

My BF's first car was a Gremlin-like driving in a fish bowl. I had a '68 beetle convertible.

Evening! It's the first race of the NASCAR season tonight. It's only a money race but I'm still excited to be watching again.

Since I don't drive  DH's first car was a Toyota Corrola. Of course, we also had a bunch of junkers early in our relationship. My favorite was the 82 Honda Prelude that we had. Wish we had never sold it.

I did pass along the Universal ticket offer to my goofy SIL. They are attempting to take a vacation this year (NOT WITH US!!!) Aren't they giving away tickets everyday? I thought I read that somewhere.

I had a Honda Prelude too! It was an '86. Best car I ever drove! Not to practical for a mommy tho, so now I have the Mommy-mobile...

We had to get rid of ours for the same reason. But it sure was great while we had it. And since it was "older", it was so easy to work on. DH was able to do a lot of repair work on it himself. Saved us a ton of money.

Now we have the customary minivan. Sure does make me feel old sometimes.

Sorry, but I need to interrupt our normal chatting just to say

KYLE BUSCH finished better than DALE JR in the Budweiser Shootout tonight. Take that M&N. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I've only had 4 cars so far in my life. My first was a Plymouth Turismo that I bought when I was 18. The next was a Chevy Corsica, then a Dodge Grand Caravan (piece of crap) and now my Toyota Sienna. The Toyota is the only brand new car I have ever owned.

Is it the start of racing season????
CoolClips_wb030380.gif

Tonight was the first race of the season but it wasn't a points race. The 15th is the official start of the season.

Once racing season starts it's going to take me longer to catch up with the thread. :drive: :)
My favorite car was my 1978 Pontiac Trans Am..watch Smokey and the Bandit..that's my car! When I bought it I hadn't heard of the movie. I didn't know why the salesman called it the bandit car. :lmao:

Hi Everyone,
Boogidy, Boogidy, Boogidy....Le'ts go Racing...

Its Holy Week at our house...aka Speed Week. :drive: Watched the race last night and DH is now watching qualifying. Would love to have a Daytona party, but we don't have a big screen and many of our friends/family are not NASCAR fans. :sad2: Oh well... I've got Jello molds in the shape of race cars, a Matt Kennseth snack holder helmet, and a bunch of racing flags to put up.
I wish some of you lived closer so we could all get together. That would be fun. ::yes::
My first car was a 78 Buick Century 2 door. Paid $1200 for it. That car lasted FOREVER!!! Finally got rid of it when I moved on to a pick-up truck. Loved that car until I had to get a "mommy mobile" when the kids came along.

Long time no chat. I too, have been :cold: and  again. I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired. It seems to just keep hanging on. This is my 4th week of coughing and being stuffed up. When I can blow my nose it goes on and on for a long time. Where does all that awful stuff come from?

DL55~ :cake: Belated :bday:

pepperw23~ No. When I was little my Aunt would tickle me under my chin and say " sukie, sukie doo". That is how that name came about .

shmu~ Glad to hear from you. Good luck if you are college bound. Come on back now you hear.

M&N~ How did the Sub job go for you?

lighttech~ I like the orginal ride with its calming effect. I hope you and your family will feel better soon.

:car: Good luck to all of you that are racing fans. I hope all of your drivers do well this racing season. The only time I watch is when flipping thru the channels and land on a race I will watch the last five laps to see who will win.:rotfl2:

:wave2: To everyone.

chat again soon.

That's exactly what I've been saying. It sounds like you've got what I've got. The cough has decreased to very little, but I am totally exhausted. If I move at all, I get lightheaded and short of breath. Lately I've also had bouts of nausea, and even a couple time of barfing. Today at church I nearly passed out while I was singing. Thankfully we were only in rehearsal, so i could run off the stage, out the door, and heave. It took a good 5 minutes of sucking in the fresh air to feel better. During the actual service I did ok until just about the same spot. I made it through that song through sheer will, and then just sat. (I'd had a chair brought up just in case). We left as soon as the service was over--no fellowship time for us today! I came home and slept for about 1.5 hours! Then I was so nauseous, but I knew my stomach was empty. I sipped on some juice and ate some goldfish crackers until my stomach settled. Tonite I ate about 1/2 of my dinner, just couldn't finish it. It wasn't alot either!

2009 has totally s*cked for me. I really wish we could just start the year over and try again.

Good morning!!!

I seem to have the never-ending sinus thing going on. I'm with you Sukie, where the heck does it all come from? It seem all I buy at the grocery store are boxes of tissues.

DL55-I remember that movie....great looking car.

D&D, I'd love to have a Daytona party too. We have the big screen but the people I know who watch NASCAR always have something else going on too. I have to get my butt in gear and sign up for the fantasy racing. Thursday's races should be good. Tony and Jr aren't in the same duel so I wonder who'll they will work with to get to the front?
