Hello Old Friends
Been a while since I have signed on
I'm not even going to try and go back and catch up
But by this page I can at least say

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DL55
party: party: party: party: party:

Also some of the concerts I have been to

Adam Ant
Men at Work
Rush
The Who
Kansas
Night Ranger
Elvis (I was very little and still can remember getting goose bumps when he sang the American Trilogy)
Neil Diamond
Def Leppard
Beach Boys

Haven't been to a concert in a very long time
Would love to see Celine Dion

Hope my TK friends are all well and happy

Does anybody have a Facebook account?
I am finding myself on there the most when I have computer time
Not much computer time lately and I get on there to make sure DD is playing it safe.
I have found some old highschool friends on there also
Would love to chat with any of you who have an account
Just PM me if you have one

Newest thing with me..............................
I might be starting college in March
I want to finish my teaching degree
Depends on funding
I know if it's God's will, He'll show me the way

I just started a facebook. My friend nagged me until I did ha ha. I have NO CLUE how to work it though. :rotfl: How do I invite you to be my friend?

How neat you might be going back to school!!! I hope it works out.

You'll figure it out
I just click around a lot until I figure out what is what
I have already found you
Sent you a friend invite
You should see on the Home page a place to the right that says requests
Click on that and it should tell you I requested you as a friend
Then you just click confirm
Then we can view each others page

Yep, there you were! ha ha. Is that your son?

pepper & shmu, Awww, I can't believe I missed both of you. Glad to see you both. :grouphug:

I don't have a facebook account. I hear everyone talking about it but don't know much about it.

Racing season has officially started. I'm finally getting excited about it. Have to practice giving M&N some grief about liking Dale Jr. :rotfl2:

Anybody watching Hell's Kitchen?

Hey racerchicky! I'm still here but getting ready log off. Hell's Kitchen is my fave show! That is why I am getting off now.

You should get a facebook page. It is kinda fun! I have been just clicking stuff lol. I got lots of random messages hee hee

I'm going to look into it tonight, pepper. Like I don't drive DH crazy with my computer obsession....let me add more places I have to check on. :rotfl2:

I keep missing parts of Hell's Kitchen because the racing stuff is still on.

Ooooh, Facebook is gonna get interesting! Ev, Me, Shmu, Pepper, and now maybe Racetrack?? COOL!

I have lots of fun on Facebook. All sorts of silly things to do. I've reconnected with people from HS and college, as well as my "past life" (before kids) Not to mention getting hopelessly addicted to Word Twist--so much so that I swear I play it in my sleep!

Well, I'll be calling on you when I get stuck....and I know I will. :lmao:

I missed everybody. (Actually, I wanted to use this smilie---just saw him and thought he was kind of cute.

We have an Elvis concert TRer! :cool1:

I got called to sub tomorrow. It's not my old library but I have been in it. So pray for me. I've only subbed in the libraries I had worked in.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Happy Birthday DL55

May you never have to ask....where's the beef!:cool1:

Morning all:

Shmu I emailed you my info for facebook.

I can't really do the concert list...I hate crowds so avoided them if possible...I did impress a teenager this past summer when she discovered I'd seen Queen way back when.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Oh, I forgot to mention ...It's my birthday! :ccat:

Welcome back Shmu! Missed you!!! Best of luck going back to school. I think that is fabulous!!!!!:thumbsup2

D&DDisney, you reminded me that I saw Journey. My poor old brain can't remember what I did yesterday, much less 25-30 years ago!

Bopsmom, you have seen some great bands! They did have tons of tours back then. I bet they probably went from my area DFW down to your area in Houston pretty often.

DL55, I would have like to have seen Phil Collins, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion, Rich Mullins and PAT BENETAR. She was my FAVORITE! At that time, and in my mind, nobody could get a teenage girl through those "wonder years" quite like she could. She felt my "pain" when I was heartbroken and helped pumped me back up so I wouldn't take no more crap off anybody! Does anybody remember music being able to boost you like that?

Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a good one.

lighttech, DH = moody! You are so right!

pepperw23, Ain't that the truth! I was so grateful my parents gave me anything to drive! My first car was a blue Pinto.

Some of those concerts were probably pretty dangerous and I know I did things I shouldn't have. :ssst: It was fun though! Suffice to say, they are not the kind of atmosphere I particularily want my children going to today!

Shmu, here's wishing you good luck on your to-do-list! pixiedust:

M&N, Hope the sub job went well today!

Hello to everyone else!

I was supposed to go see Pat Benetar my senior year at college. Would have been my first concert. But I was an RA in the dorm and we were all "on call" that weekend (the first of the semester), so I had to miss it.

2 I forgot though--

MercyMe
Tanya Tucker

Shmu:wave2: I was just thinking of you! Glad to hear from you. I was noticing we hadn't heard from some TKers for a while.
mariezp My first car was a blue Pinto also. My roommate had one too. We were rear ended in hers (small bump) and we didn't blow up.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. :cloud9: Had fun at the concert. All those 60 yr olds trying to act like they're 20. :smokin:

DL55, do you remember the feel of sitting so near the ground in your Pinto? They were pretty easy to drag bottom on! Guess they were pretty popular back then. Back then we kids got the cheapest thing the family could afford. Interesting how parenting views change...

Even though I was totally happy with my cheap first car at the time, I don't think it was the safest car I could have been driving. I will give DH that.... when we decided what DS was going to hit the road in the most important factor was safety. Of course, we may go in the poor house paying for it but DS will be as safe as possible.

I am curious to see if he feels the same in another 10 years when DD starts driving or if it will be a double standard reserved only for his first born son. Don't get me wrong. He loves our DD but DS is his male heir, his pride and joy.

Hey guys.
Well, so much for a healthy rest of the year. Wound up missing work yesterday w/ the stomach flu. Ugh.
I'm back in the office today, but definitely not in top form. I just went to the cafeteria and am sipping and nibbling my way thru a cup of tea and some dry white toast. So far so good. (Knock on wood.) BL has a cough again too. I'm debating taking him to the docs on Monday. I don't want him to have a relapse into the last nonsense he was dealing w/. AHHHH! I just want everyone to be healthy. This stuff has been draggin on for months!

Ok, enough w/ my rant.

So, DH sent me this article today. I'm sure a lot of you knew about it... your much more up on the Disney events than me. I'm kind of disappointed w/ the whole idea. Didn't want to post this "out there" though b/c I'm sure the reactions are "passionate." Figured I'd stick to posting it here and hear from you guys whose opinions I'm actually interested in. (And who I know will treat each other's opinions w/ respect.) Gosh, I'm becoming quite the TK snob aren't I? :snooty: :rotfl:

Hmmm, not sure what to think. I was there at the 64 World's Fair in NY. I rode IASW there for the first time. It was my favorite Disney ride until our last trip when I discovered Soarin'. I don't think I like the idea of messing with the original. Is this just in DisneyLand? Or is it at WDW too? Sad to see the not-so-subtle marketing garbage invading the old standards.

Sorry you aren't feeling too hot. Hope you and BL are both feeling better soon!
