Hi All !!

We have 4 days in the parks before heading to our Disney Cruise.

Spending Sunday night and Monday night on Disney property and Tuesday night at the Royal Pacific.

We are WDW folks and have never been to Universal - we have a 9 year old son who LOVES Harry Potter and a 5-year son too short for the Hogwarts ride.

We know we need to spend 1 day in MK and 1 day in Epcot. And are planning to hit IOA on Wednesday 1 hour early since we are staying on property.

Soooo - what would you do on Tuesday??????????

Do a third day at Disney - probably AK? (our 5 -year old has not been to AK for over 2 years so doesn't really remember it) Or go to Universal?

Also, if we are staying at RP Tuesday night can we check in REALLY early on Tuesday (not expecting to get a room yet but just to and stow our luggage) so we can do that day early in the park and do HP both mornings early?

Maybe even split up and have the 9 year old and a parent go to Universal and the 5-year old and a parent go to AK (9 year old not really that into animals . . . )

We will be there the week of March 20th if that helps - so definitely the beginning of spring break crowds . . .

Any and all advice welcome - thanks!

Go someplace new! Explore Islands of Adventure for the day. There are plenty of things for children of all ages to enjoy. Animal Kingdom is fun but since you've never been to IOA, you should check it out. I know your family will have a great time!

Thanks Metro - but AM planning to spend one day (Wednesday) at IOA - the question is more - would you do TWO days at Univeral - or a 3rd day at a Disney Park?

I would do at least two full days at Universal.

I'd spend 2 at Universal. You will find plenty to do I sure. And then be immersed in Disney again on the cruise:)

I would do your second day at Universal Sudios after starting out at IOA for WWoHP. That way you could see both parks and use your FOTL pass both days and see it all.

Yup, two days at the Universal Parks. Since you are staying Tuesday night, you get two full days (Tuesday and Wednesday) of unlimited express plus two days of early entry.

We just got home from spending 3 and a half days at US/IOA and the kids are ready to go back this weekend. We did not see and do everything there is in the 3 days. The kids would like a ride or show and do it over and over before moving on. lol We show the Horror Makeup show everyday at least one time. We are big Disney fans that have spent at least a week at Disney for the past 5 years, but this year we are only planning on US/IOA. We all loved the theming, rides, and laid back feel of it. I can't wait to be there again.

Great advice all - thanks so much!. Will plan to spend two days at Universal and use early access to do go to Harry Potter both mornings.

Gotta love these boards . . ..

Brilliant move to hit Universal for a second day. Staying at RPH you'd be crazy to not take full advantage of 2 days of FOTL perk. You will be thrilled by the front of the line experience of being an on-site guest. Warning though, it will ruin you for any other amusement park.

You will probably also love the RPR pool and that will take up more time. I would definitely spend two days in the Universal parks.

IF you run out of things to do...which you won't...Blue Man Group is amazing!
Glad you decided to do the 2 days and 2 parks. Great choice :thumbsup2

you can check into the hotel as early as you wish.
someone will come to the counter if you arrive prior to 7:00.

you store your belongings and receive a claim check stub.
you'll need that later.

once you have your hotel key card, you can enter IOA at 8:00.

onsite guests are allowed into the park one hour prior to the official opening time.
you can do this both days.

you will avoid some unnecessary long lines by starting early in the park.
