I'm giving it to my 5 year old granddaughter for her birthday at Disney! Our May, 2010 DVC family vacation was planned specifically to celebrate my granddaughter's 5th birthday. We are having lunch at CRT, and I can't think of a more perfect place to give it to her! I going to keep it secret from my daughter because I think I will have more fun seeing her face than my granddaughter's face.

I received it when I was 5 so of course it wasn't working after 53 years, but it's at the shop as we speak. I just hope I can find a new pink band for it.

Believe it or not, I forgot that I had it. I was cleaning out some stuff in the attic and there it was! I'm jumping out of my skin thinking about it! She may be a little young for it, but I know my daughter will be very careful about when and where she lets her wear it.

Castle, Cinderella, and Disney family heirloom, can it get any better?

That is really so special. What a great memory that will make! I'm sure she will have a very :bday:!!!

if it was my kid she would have it broken before we even left the restaurant. :sad1:

I gave up dreaming I could give her nice stuff until she turns maybe 30?

What a wonderful treasure for you to find! I hope your granddaughter truly treasures it as you have!

I also have that watch in a drawer in my bedroom. My daughter is 22 and not married, but I think that is a great idea. I will be saving mine for her daughter. I hope you have a great time. It is a wonderful idea.

Love Disney, and have since Disney World was just a mock up model in the Disney Welcome Center (1970), when the character topiaries were just metal without leaves. I still have the Disney charm bracelet that my Father purchased for me that day, I treasure it and all of the Disney memories.

Disney is fabulous but seeing through the eyes of your 5 year old Granddaughter will be that more special! You'll have such a wonderful time! Three generations, enjoy every moment!

We need to bring the youngster into the fold, so good job!:thumbsup2

Now this is one of the coolest things I have read in a long time. Would you consider posting a photo when you get it back from repair?

I love your post. This is all just so wonderfully perfect!!
Have a great time!! What an absolutely wonderful gift!

AWWWW How Sweet!!! You sound like an amazing Grandma! Please, post a pic - I'd love to see your watch as well!

I will gladly post a picture when I get back in May. I'm hoping to have a photo of Cinderella and my granddaughter and I holding the watch together. I'll also post a close up picture of the watch too. I'm sure some of you will remember this watch from their youth.

She will have this photo and watch long after I'm gone and of course my daughter will have my DVC contract too! But trust me, I'm way to young to start thinking about being long gone! At 58, I expect to use at least 20 more years of my DVC! I'm still riding the rock n' roller coaster and loving it! My granddaughter calls me GiGi which stands for Disney's "Goofy" Grandma. My granddaughter is the air that I breathe.

So awesome!!! Family ties are awesome and while the watch will be a special momento as a granddaughter and mom now - the memories of you with her at WDW are what will stay with her forever!!!
