I'd say the choice is; aft: less motion but more engine noise/vibration; or forward and more motion but less noise and vibration. If it's the Fantasy then definitely forward.
I am a FORWARD girl!! LOVE that motion!! (I wouldn't cruise if I didn't. I'm not going to take a trip where I'll be sick, doped up on meds, and/or miserable the whole time. But that's just me.) My next DCL cruise on the Wonder I'm in 2504 and cannot wait!!
(Actually I just remembered I changed my cabin on fathom so now I'm about that far forward, maybe further (assuming they don't upgrade me...)! And the Adonia is TINY, so she feels a lot more motion!! HOORAY!!!)
This is apparently pretty common. I was talking to a CM in one of the shops on the Fantasy who was from Portugal, his wife also was a CM on board, and he was saying they sleep great during their months at sea but when they return home he has all kinds of problems sleeping. I know it's the same for me.
