WannaBeImagineer from the Camping Forums found what looks like outline of a possible new DVC in the Fort Wilderness/River Country area. They were filed with the construction of the new horse stables at RC, perhaps by accident.

Camping Forum Thread "Proof the Rumors are True!!! TCD Relocation Plans! by WannaBeImagineer

Ok so we’ve all read TCD’s great thread about the rumors being true regarding the TCD Ranch being moved, and we’ve all been waiting for more information about it, well I finally found some, a permit has finally be applied for!

I found the environmental permit, its not the detailed building or site permit, but it does have some great information. First the code name is East Parcel Development Project (EPDP) Stables. The report was 157 pages long but here are some points of interest:

• This application is for the relocation of the stables only
• No structure demolition is proposed with this application, only existing fences and shed removal
• The project area is 6.42 acres
• A new blacksmith shop IS proposed
• The new stables are going to be behind the old kennel (north of it)
• The stables look to be a nice size, with a good layout for walking around
• Looks like the sidewalk is going to go from the existing parking lot and run along side the east side of the old kennel.
• They’re digging a pond to take all the storm water runoff

Oh and did I mention that it looks like someone accidentally included an area that they were not supposed to in this submittal. An area that shows some proposed buildings behind Pioneer Hall! I’m not sure how accurate it is but it shows some new building footprints, one strange part though is that it shows one building going into the lake. It also shows a new wood dock and a floating dock. I’ll try and post shortly.

There is also a longer thread started by Tri-Circle-D earlier in the month on the camping board that has some great info and images. (Be warned it also veers into the long standing animosity between Campers and DVC - that I was unaware of it's depth or grounds)

It definitely looks like DVC to me. Not sure why they have the building going into the water??:confused3

Take a look! What do you think?

Interesting reading on the camping thread. I thought I could see a great hall/lobby with a huge fireplace, at the opposite end of the hall from a large curved wall facing the lake. Others see an indoor/ outdoor fireplace.
The curved set of buildings sure looks like a DVC to me.

Oh man! This is going to be interesting.

Post #39 is a must see.

I really hope they have an Old West Boardwalk. I think it will look kind of like the central area of PO Riverside, which is awesomely cool!

PS...I was peeking at the camping board and was so excited to break the news to the DVC boards. Looks like OP beat me by a few hours.

Well I welcome it, and expressed as much on the last thread regarding this possibility. Also, in reference to the animosity between campers and DVC'rs, as someone who does both, I don't understand it! We often go to River Ranch (near Lake Wales, not far from Orlando), a Dude ranch type with a hotel rooms, efficiencies, cabins, camping areas (for pup tents), deluxe slips with their own docks for RV's by the canal, and everybody gets along and does their own thing!

I think it would make wonderful use of that area near FW and the dilapidated water park! Just imagine it's popularity if they could rebuild the water park to some degree and make it part of that DVC just like Stomralong Bay. Poeple would fight to stay there!

Is that large round thing (surrounded by the squiggley arrows---and looking a lot like reproductive slides!) existing or is it possibly a new pool?

It looks similar in structure to Jambo house. It has that shape anyway. Part of the structure appears to be cut off in the pdf file.

That part that juts out into the water might be over that clump of trees in the Satellite view. And the end would afford a good view of the island, which used to be Pleasure Island.

Right?

Ok, what are reproductive slides? I can't seem to get my mind out of the gutter on this one.

Wow!! An Old West Boardwalk!! My family would love this!! Very exciting!! Hope it's true!! :yay:

Very interesting, especially that they overhang the water. I do nto know if everyone notices that at the lower left of page 1 of the PDF there is what looks like the end of another arc of buildings, I wonder how many set there will be.

I noticed. That'd why I said it looked a little like the Jambo House layout.

I wasn't into this idea at all but now I kind of like it! Especially if they did do an old west style boardwalk. It will be fun to watch this unfold. I love the DIS!

It would be amusing if this had a tall tower.
I was just wondering if Disney Resorts insisted on DVC building BLT as the first DVC tower there to be an additional obstruction to possible Four Seasons MK view...(And if that's the case, then DVC might be keeping use of TOTWL for a long time as consessions?)

Oh I would so totally be there if they built something similar to SAB! :woohoo:
