Fort Transportation Question

We plan to head to Roaring Fork for breakfast each morning during our May trip. Can someone detail for me, very specifically, how to get from our campsite (probably loop 1500 area) to Roaring Fork for breakfast by 7am - using Disney transportation, internal buses, etc. Note: we don't have bikes or golf cart and don't want to drive once we've set up camp due to long-distance drive to get to WDW in the first place.

Also, I'm assuming transportation from Roaring Fork/Wilderness Lodge to the parks for park opening is pretty straightforward. But if there are any tips to make sure we get there faster, I'm open to suggestion.

Well there are a multitude of ways.

You can take the internal bus to the Settlement.
From there you have 3 choices (that I can think of).

1. Take the bus from Settlement to Wilderness Lodge
2. Take the Boat from Settlement Boat Launch to Wilderness Lodge
3. Walk the road/trail to Wilderness lodge.

I ask because there's no sense in having the group up and ready to go at 6 if the internal buses don't start running until 6:45 or whatever.

In the morning, the boat goes to the contemporary before the wilderness lodge. If you're looking to save time, you could eat at the QS there before continuing to the parks.

Do they have Mickey Waffles there? It's a family breakfast tradition when at WDW, which is why we were heading to Roaring Forks. Gladly head to Contemporary QS if they have mickey waffles, since it could be faster We don't do buffet breakfasts because we simply never eat enough to get a good value from them.

If you are in a site on the Orange bus route, that turns into the bus that will take you to Wilderness Lodge if you still choose to go there for breakfast.

Why not just order waffles to go from Trails End and eat them at one of the picnic tables by the porch or go up to the marina and grab a table. You get 3 Mickey waffles with bacon or sausage for $7.49. You can get biscuits and gravy as well as eggs, hash browns, etc.

We did that a few times.

Ps - just like there is a take out menu from TE for dinner as well. I had both last month but no longer.

If you are in the 2100 tent/pop up loop, rather than 1500, you can walk a short distance to the bus stop for 3 colors (purple, orange and I'm forgetting the third). As stated, if you catch the orange, you can go on to the Wilderness Lodge.

We walked the route from the 2100 loop, up to the pony stables, where there is a walking/jogging path over to Wilderness Lodge- pretty path with many "hidden Mickey's" made from pine cones.

They have a take out menu at trails end, we did it several times just last week and the week before.

As stated there are a few picnic tables right outside the door and a few on the porch of the tavern. We like going up to the marina and eating at the tables by the docks

This is where the inconsistency of Disney's food menus gets me. Allears is where I was looking at menus, and their site doesn't have the waffles listed for P&J takeout. Also, didn't see takeout menu for Trail's End at all. Thank you for the updated information - it will make breakfast SO much easier!

Contemporary Cafe DOES have Mickey Waffles. Breakfast Entrees only between 7 AM and 11 AM.

I like AllEars, but you have to watch out as some things on their site. The last update could have been 6-12 months ago and not all items are always listed. I know that I was at WDW once and AllEars had done an update that same month on a couple of places I went. There were items that AllEars did not list, but were actually on the menu.

I agree with tobikaye. I think your problem Texasroni75 is the site you are looking at for your information. Do you have the My Disney Experience app on your phone? We used that earlier this month for the 2 weeks we were there. It has a dining tab that you can access menus for all the restaurants, with 2 kids who are picky eaters this was very valuable as we were able to look at he menus and make sure our kids would eat.

It also has the wait times for rides, you can track your fast passes, make dining reservations, view photo pass pictures. It made our life easier while we were there, I would definitely recommend it.

For our last few trips, Allears was fairly accurate and was more helpful with designating dining plan snack credits than the official Disney site menus were. Unfortunately for me, I have a Windows phone, and the MDE app won't work on it. Looks like I'll be asking the kids (DD has an iPhone and DS has an Android phone) to use the app for me on this trip Thanks again to everyone who has responded - all advice is appreciated!

I also thought about mentioning something like this. We have the Minnie Mouse one, like in the link below. I love to have Minnie Mouse waffles and figure if I go back to WDW and stay somewhere with a kitchen, I will just bring it as I love homemade ones. I find the ones at WDW so-so.

If you go the homemade route, you must have the Carbon's Golden Malted Waffle mix. That's the secret to authentic mickey waffles. Just the smell of them cooking will take you right to WDW.
