Any one going to WDW/Florida this winter?

I'm not sure "Most people" would sell out their convictions just for a free 2 weeks at Disney
Selling out would mean that most Canadians have the same convictions that you appear to have in not travelling to the U.S. However, the decrease in trips to the U.S. are not down anywhere near 50%. It is evident that most Canadians are still travelling to the U.S. It is reasonable to conclude that most would desire to visit their daughter over the holidays and take advantage of free Disney tickets. I think my prior statement reflects observed statistical behaviour by a majority of Canadians.

I do wonder if a majority of Canadians ceased U.S. vacationing there would be retaliation in kind. You would then have a situation of more Canadians travelling to Europe, Caribbean, etc. (no benefit to the Canadian economy), an uptick in local tourism from Canadians (obvious benefit) but a significant decline from U.S. tourism.

For the 2nd time this year, I'm being a hypocrite and taking a two week vacation at Disney World, while at the same time supporting a boycott of both US products and US vacations (my oldest daughter is currently working at the Epcot Canadian pavilion, and can get us into the parks for free for 13 days starting tomorrow).

I'm currently sitting in the Denver airport, 1/3 of the way through a 7 hour layover. Below is a photo of me and one of my buddies, taken this morning just past US Customs at the Edmonton airport.

Do you have any current tourism-related stats? Do you feel like what is being reported in Canada is an accurate reflection now you are in Florida?

Well since my DD works for DCL and has a lot of friends in the parks…yes, we still go. Unfortunately, this past year has been filled with a lot of drama so I have only been down once. Had to cancel two trips since March due to things going on at home. I will be going with DD at some point around end of January for Pixar Day at Sea and some park time.

We also cross border shop every few months.
LOL... no Pixar Day at Sea for me but DD is currently on her way down there. She went through pre clear at the airport this morning with absolutely no issues. In fact had a very nice agent which is a bit rare. Interesting, he asked her if she was going on a Disney cruise. I have to assume that something pertaining to that comes up when he swiped her passport or else he's very experienced with the casts coming through there and recognises the crew sticker on the back of her passport :confused3

From everything she said this morning it was absolutely no different than the other million times we have gone through there. Well, one difference...there was not one single person in the line. We have never seen that. She went from curb to gate, including checking a bag, in 25 minutes and her gate was the last one down the auxiliary hall which is a 7 minute walk once you come down the escalator.
