Hi,

Looking for a nice hotel on the beach either at or close to Fort Lauderdale.
Would consider Clearwater too.
Must have cooking facilities, or at least a microwave/fridge plus restaurant/bar etc

Staying for a few nights next Easter.

Have looked at several including Pelican Bay at FL but really don't want to pay $400plus a night.

If we cannot find anywhere we will just stay in the Orlando area, already have a villa booked but comtemplating a few nights elsewhere, maybe even buying into DVC is an option.

Easter week will be expensive!!

I think you will have more choices in Clearwater area for that kind of criteria.
Try Skyauction.com Maybe you can bid ona timeshare. Or what about renting DVC at Vero Beach?

I know there is a Doubletree with kitchens on Sunny Isles Beach, which is south of Ft. Lauderdale, very nice.

The big problem you're going to have is you're looking over Easter. It's peak rates everywhere in Florida!

Also, Orlando is really one of THE least expensive places to visit in Orlando due to the abundance of housing options. Put some of those same hotels or villas somewhere along the coast, and they would rent for 4x as much!

You're early though, I would look for a private villa on VRBO.com and see if you can find a deal for next year, since you're early you have a good chance of finding one now. Some people might not be that smart and realize that Easter comes 2 weeks early next year and not have raised their rates, rates can vary widely amongst homeowners.
