I sure miss play'n on the boards, ya'll are SOOO much fun.![]()

Everyone keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, or send positive thoughts my DH's way. He has an interview this morning with Publix for a corporate position. The job is Telecommunications Procurement Manager - something he is well qualified for. PLEASE PRAY!! I can't take much more of the crap jobs he's been forced to take.
If he gets it..I might be able to go back to working only one job instead of two.![]()
Good luck - I'll talk to you later.
Some friends just got 6 months notice - their jobs are moving to India after they train the Indians to do their jobs.....![]()
WTH
Maybe they'll take my neighbors with them!
The house right next door to us sold (after some 3 years
) and the old neighbors moved out. No saying goodbye to anyone. They've been basically just checking on the house for several months..as they both live in NYC now. Today I saw this woman who lives across the street go in the house and receive a delivery of new appliances. I figure they must have bought the house. Ask her if she owns it?...NO ENGLISH. Looking at me as if she doesn't understand me. I KNOW she speaks English. Her middle school aged son..tells me "don't worry, we are just taking care of the house". Again..I ask her, Did you buy it? He tells me they are taking care of it for "friends" Oh great. "WHERE are the owners?...IS it a family?"...I ask. She shrugs her shoulders that she doesn't know.

Well....Rick said his interview was stellar!! He was unsure what the job duties entailed, but when the interviewer's (two of them) started speaking "telephone-ese", and started asking him phone system engineering/design/placement questions, he just snapped the answers off - as that's what he basically did for the last 10 years of his telco career. The two people conducting the interview actually walked him to his car and continued chatting with him for another 5 minutes or so - which they did not do with the two people interviewing before Rick. We are now in the dreaded "hurry up and wait" mode. We've both learned not to get our hopes up - but he really needs a job that is up to his calliber & expertise. He has this "hang-up" about not getting job interviews due to his age, and I have to agree that there might be something to that. Can never prove it though.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and well-wishes!
Nice to hear a little good news!
