Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

I LOVED Electric Company! Our library has EC-I should check it out.

Ya know. I signed up for a library cards MONTHS ago in order to check out their DVD's, and haven't been back since then. Maybe I ought to see if they have the Baby Einstein series. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the reminder.

The color of money.:cool1:

I can go with this one....

I will have to get a DVD of all those SHR (if my wife doesn't already have it) in a few years for my son (DS0).

You must -- I think I am enjoying them as much as my kids. :rotfl: For some reason though, my little one would much rather have me pull them up on youtube than to watch the DVD.

Okay - everyone name their most favorite and least favorite SchoolHouse Rock segment --

Most favorite: No more Kings!!
Least Favorite: the one for the number 8

My favorite SHR is Conjunction Junction. I don't know about a least favorite.

Ok, I'm going to have to go by categories (yes, I'm that big of a SHR geek!)

Grammar: Lolly get your adverbs here(Favorite); Unpack Adjectives(Not Fave)

Math: I have a love/hate relationship with the 12 one. It's weird, and doesn't make much sense to me, but I like the weird tune. Favorite would be probably 5 or 7 (hide and seek or the rabbit).

History: LOVE 'EM ALL (I'm a history geek, too).

Science: Favorites are Telegraph line, Interplanet Janet. Un-favorite would be Energy.

The money ones came out after I was much too mature for SHR (yeah, right!) so I'm not as up on those as I should be.

That warning was probably directed at me, I got an infraction for quoting a parody from The Simpson's. I was also warned about my sig pic. I hope the new sig is acceptable, although I'm sure someone will take it the wrong way so they can complain...

I want to be a good "citizen" here, but I just nearly spit out my drink when I saw this and I had to share.

Hi all. Wanted to drop in for a quick update on my husband. He is back in the hospital with fluid built up in the lungs and a blood clot in his leg. He has pnemounia-Its looks like when he comes home this time it will be with oxygen.
My youngest will leave Sat for Iraq so now all three will be gone.
Getting more done around the house since I only read this thread.
Husband will have someone come to the house for PT once he gets home. I think the hardest for me is to see the man I married 42 years loose all his engery and not want to do much of anything. He has such a hard time and is always short of breath.
Sorry this is long but just feeling a little sorry for myself.
Okay back to the real world and off the pity me one.

Good wishes to all
Sandy

I feel the same too, I have learned so much here on this thread and I hate to see the network of friends disappear.

Ok guys
We dont have to have our interests disappear
We can start a Yahoo message board
It can be private and by invatation only
I am a couple of Yahoo message groups and it is GREAT
Think about it again

If you guys prefer, I can host a message board on a server vs. using yahoo.
I have some servers I can do this on.

Whatever you folks do please let me know. I do enjoy reading your responses.

Everyone in my 6th grade class - sang the Preamble :rotfl: If you know it through SHR it is impossible not to sing at least a little. I have the DVD too -- I need to get the CD for the car. My little one has learned her 3 tables from 3 is a magic number.... We've also acquired The Electric Company. Unbelievable the number of big name stars on EC. Gene Wilder was Letterman.

Two thumbs up for SHR and EC!! I just taught a lesson on "magic E" remember him? He could turn a tub into a tube!

Favorite SHR
grammar>> lolly lolly lolly get your adverbs here...
of course Conjunction Junction!

Math>> Figure eight... I so wanted to be the ice skater!
The five X's is a close second, though.

SS>> Shot heard around the world
Elbow room
I'm just a bill

Science>>
Electricity

Now who do I blame now that I'll probably be humming these songs all night long?

I just started reading backwards and wanted to give hugs and prayers to some... and tell others I just spit diet coke all over my lap top. Take whichever works for your post!

I would think that more intelligent people would, automatically, have to study much less than others, too. :thumbsup2

I think that it is more intelligent to study and take your time than making a rash decision and possibly failing. But, that JMO.

I loved School House Rock!!!

My favorite was the Great American Melting Pot:

My grandmother came from Russia
A satchel on her knee,
My grandfather had his father's cap
He brought from Italy.
They'd heard about a country
Where life might let them win,
They paid the fare to America
And there they melted in.
Lovely Lady Liberty
With her book of recipes
And the finest one she's got
Is the great American melting pot.
The great American melting pot.

America was founded by the English,
But also by the Germans, Dutch, and French.
The principle still sticks;
Our heritage is mixed.
So any kid could be the president.

I love that one too!

Did you guys know that you can find all of the shorts on You Tube? I have the multiplication ones in my favorites for my DD :teacher: (and yes, I know that's addition, LOL).

When they came out on DVD, I bought the 20th (I think) anniversary DVD. I wish I'd gotten the CD's too. We're in the car so much that the kids could learn their times tables from the CD! :)
