Hi all. Wanted to drop in for a quick update on my husband. He is back in the hospital with fluid built up in the lungs and a blood clot in his leg. He has pnemounia-Its looks like when he comes home this time it will be with oxygen.
My youngest will leave Sat for Iraq so now all three will be gone.
Getting more done around the house since I only read this thread.
Husband will have someone come to the house for PT once he gets home. I think the hardest for me is to see the man I married 42 years loose all his engery and not want to do much of anything. He has such a hard time and is always short of breath.
Sorry this is long but just feeling a little sorry for myself.
Okay back to the real world and off the pity me one.

Interesting topic. To get to the ultimate question, calling BS will do no good. First, her friends/sycophants who hang on every word she says will rise up in a unified defense and you will be the bad person. Best to let these things unravel on their own. Nevertheless, perhaps there are some partial truths here. Perhaps your friend went to law school and has every intention of taking the bar exam but just does not have the drive to finish the task. Perhaps she feels the need to justify her existence to her friends. At some point the bar exam will come and go and more light may be shed on the situation. For now, you can probably get some clues by observing her. Does she claim to know everything about everything? (Politics, child rearing, books, the military, science fiction etc) This is very common among law students and lawyers who have not practiced long enough to know that they really do not know anything. Law school is a place where very smart and competitive people congregate to show off their intelligence and belittle others. Remember, law students are never wrong.

In any event, I hope that you can put this problem aside and have some peace of mind. It does seem that your loss of trust with this friend may be the end of your relationship. There is no longer room for debate, and you just have to let this play out.

Oooo, I have a topic! So I have this "friend" - well, not really a friend, but it's too involved to explain the relationship here. She has been going on and on about how she's gone to law school - going to take the Bar exam - but the more she talks, the more I think she's lying. WTH? who would do something like that? Honestly, I think she's always been jealous of other people's careers and she just got bored? Things just don't add up though and seriously, I don't think she'd know a tort from a torte.

I had several classmates who started studying for the February bar last May. One was going to take the August bar, but a major life-changing crisis with her child occurred and that kind of put her bar studying plans on hold -- she studied when she could and took the Feb bar. A couple of others were working full-time and did not want to lose their jobs, so they were planning on taking the Aug bar but got cold feet because they did not study enough and postponed. A couple failed in Aug and picked up studying again in Sept when the found out.

Another friend was raising three small children, had practiced law in another state, and was trying to study in between changing diapers and all that so she could practice in the state she now lives in.

By all means call her it on it and report back to us what you found out.
