Well, pooh! I just finished reading the "discussion" thread and planned to immolate myself since I'm mostly a lurker anyway. Then I find the thread is closed!

Now I just want to stay here and be snarky. Lasagne gives me heartburn.

I often find that when I'm losing an argument, I just feel an overwhelming need to shout, "Shut Up!" and sometimes I put my fingers in my ears and say, "La la la, I can't hear you" because I just can't handle anyone disagreeing with me. I don't even like to see titles that I disagree with. I can't read a newspaper because the headlines are just soooo upsetting.

Welcome to the new and not so new faces! I spent last night at my Mom's so I am trying to catch up with the new pages. She lives alone and thought my Dad (who died last year) was there. Really difficult evening. She knows he is gone, but she "thinks" maybe he isn't. Nothing worse than having to say, "No, Daddy's dead...", about ten times in a 15 minute conversation. She just called and sounded much better, so, hopefully, she will move past this.

Oh, my goodness. I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you.

I have been thinking that there were several lines of discussion we kept "in-house" that perhaps we should take out on the board, now that we need some scintillating conversations. Remember the posts we had about people that ridicule their friends' children because they think it makes them seem "witty" or whatever. Individuals oblivious to the fact they are posting on a board that thousands of people access AND so clueless they post family pix so there would be no question of the poster's identity, if someone they knew saw the post?

Oooo, I have a topic! So I have this "friend" - well, not really a friend, but it's too involved to explain the relationship here. She has been going on and on about how she's gone to law school - going to take the Bar exam - but the more she talks, the more I think she's lying. WTH? who would do something like that? Honestly, I think she's always been jealous of other people's careers and she just got bored? Things just don't add up though and seriously, I don't think she'd know a tort from a torte.

So, do I call her on her BS, or do I just go along with her little farce?

Since we are now all fluff all the time - did you all know the proper way to eat a banana. The part with the stem is actually the bottom. Monkeys eat bananas the correct way - from the top. The top is the bottom and the bottom is the top. If you eat a banana the correct way, the stem becomes a handle. Hmmm - who knew?

Wow. I did not know that. I guess we will continue to learn from each other despite the new policy. I'm so pleased.

Thanks. She is much better tonight. I am going down tomorrow night and have dinner with her and stay, if she needs me. After you spend your life with someone, it is just difficult to say good-bye.
