Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

Who do you like this season?

I loved the Bollywood routine last week. That might have been my favorite, or the one with Ade. Wow. I thought 99% of the routines last week totally rocked! They were so well choreographed.

I'm a Casperzak fan... I love the brothers!

My favorite couple so far is Kayla & Max. Though I was really impressed by almost everyone last week!

And the Bollywood routine last week blew me away!

I don't think I remember seeing such good routines during the first week of top 20 competition. Maybe it's 'cause Mia wasn't choreographing... :lmao: She drives me nuts!!!!!!! I don't like most of her stuff. It's too dark and depressing. I like the more uplifting stuff. I'm a big Dancing with the Stars fan too so I really liked Louie's routines.

I'm not sure the Bollywood routine would have been so good with another couple. They were soooooo spectacular! How hard would it have been to tackle something that no one had previous experience with? Most of the couples had one partner that was familiar with the type of dance they were doing.

True. It was funny, I kept raving about how good everyone was for the first week. My bf kept rolling his eyes.

Hey! I don't roll my eyes at his Discovery shows!!! :rotfl:

I've only caught the little bitty sand sharks, those couldn't eat your finger if they tried. I know the Orcas have a taste for meat, I'll try to stay away from them. :thumbsup2 I don't think Jonah ever expected to end up in a whale's belly! :rotfl2::lmao:

Yes, hopefully the tag and the cane will conserve strength for tea drinking and cute boys. :thumbsup2 Anyone else up for a spot of tea on the 4th of July?

I don't think we'll be doing the tea thing on July 4th. Not suppose to have too much caffeine. ;) Olympia's a bit far for me to drag DS.

Hey, the Bible says a big fish. Doesn't specifically say a whale. :cool2:

My mom and I kept raving about it too. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see this week. Yay! It's on tonight! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Which shows does he watch on Discovery?

Yes, too much caffeine isn't good. Especially for pregnant women. :thumbsup2 There's always next year.

I wonder why I remember whale then? Hmmm, maybe my Sunday school was wrong? Not like I ever paid attention... :rolleyes1

The water up here is too cold to put my feet in anyway... So I don't think I have to worry about sharks or whales. Now the man eating jellyfish, now there's another story!

Anyone find any cute patriotic t-shirts? I want to find something cute for the 4th. Everything adorable that I find is in regular sizes and isn't in play sizes. :sad2:

That's because all Sunday school teachers say whale. It's easier than saying big fish. :lmao:

That must be it!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao: I swear we saw a video when I was a kid at Sunday School that had him in a whale too. :confused3 Dang Sunday School teachers. We should fire the lot of 'em! :rotfl2: I'm sure there'd be a lot of happy kids if that happened.

You probably did. They all say whale even though the story says big fish. I think it might have been one of those megamouth sharks; they can swallow a man whole.

Or it could have been a whale. :rotfl: I had way more fun at vbs than I did in Sunday school.

:scared1: yipes, Tink - what a thing to see right before bedtime!

yeah, the Bible says 'big fish' in the Old Testament but does Jesus make a reference Jonah and the whale in the gospels? I'll have to look that up.

A whale could have swallowed Jonah whole - there had been an incident back in the 19th century of a man surviving this. What's really cool is -- when the big fish spits out Jonah onto the beach, the Ninevites begin to worship him as a god. I always thought that was strange -- but the account of that man from the 19th century says that he had turned completely white, due to the stomach acids of the whale bleaching him. [I know - pretty gross]. Anyway, who knows but that could have happened to Jonah? Which would make a pretty compelling argument as to why he was worshiped - as if he had a glow.

Got a kick out of the Veggie Tales Jonah movie - their Jonah was glow-y too when the whale burped him up.

I'm planning to drink a glass or two of tea in the near future -- but I think on the 2nd rather than the 4th.

Sorry about that. ;) Veggietales Jonah says that the Ninevites listened to Jonah because he smelled like a fish, and they worshiped the great fish.
I never knew anyone had been swallowed by a whale! Was it an accident?

That thing is freaking cool! I wonder if I could get a tank big enough for it in my condo? Hmmm. Something to think about...

I never went to vbs at my church, only Sunday school. I don't think we ever had vbs. :confused3 The only time I remember going was to a friend's church.

That's a pretty darn cool story about the whale burping someone up. I'll bet that's what happened to Jonah. :thumbsup2

I saw the Veggie Tales for the first time the other day. It was interesting.

The 2nd is a good day too. I wish there was an opportunity on the 2nd for me. It would make life much easier...

He watches Dirty Jobs, Myth Busters, Time Warp, some other shows I can't remember... He also likes Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman (I think that's his name) it's not on Discovery Channel, but it's gross. Honestly, I don't mind the shows. But they're always on!

What'd you think of the dancing last night? I was a bit underwhelmed. I think the bottom 3 are going to be the 2 hip hop couples and the tango.

i'm with you honu; mia's brand of dirty foot dancing does nothing for me. that and her bad attitude towards the dancers.

.

Yup, Jesus talks about Jonah in the gospels. I believe He references him when speaking to the pharisees after they test Him and ask Him for more signs and miracles.

Hugs to everyone! And Congrats to T&G!!!! :woohoo:

update from Michelle:

We made it to Orlando. Shelly got discharged today. Now the rehab begins. She is starting to hurt again. You would never think that yawning would hurt that much. She was doing good until then. Thank you everyone for all the prayers. We stopped and looked at the Tahoe today. It was only by Gods grace that she was not hurt worse and/or killed.

I like Dirty Jobs and Myth Busters. The rest I can do without. EWWWWW, I do not like Bizarre Foods. Yuck!

I was not impressed with dancing last night. I think you're right about the bottom 3. I was not impressed when the judges crticized the hip hop dancers for not "getting it". To me, when you have two separate couples that can't get the choreographers stuff, the problem isn't with the dancers, it's with the choreographer. I really think the 1st week was so much better. I'm not a lil C fan either. He bugs me. What was up with some of his comments? :confused3

i'm with you honu; mia's brand of dirty foot dancing does nothing for me. that and her bad attitude towards the dancers.

I really didn't like her attitude towards the dancers. I thought it was uncalled for, especially when she went on that streak and hated like 7 dancers in a row in Vegas when everyone else clearly liked them. I'm pretty sure she's going to show up next week.

I really like that Sonia with the weird hair. I don't think it's that I like her routines so much as I like her passion for dance and I liked her as a judge. I thought she was fair and I loved her reactions to the dancers.

update from Michelle:

Thanks Debbie! Glad to hear she got there and she's feeling better. I do hope that if they're planning on doing WDW that they've rented her an ECV to get around. You can let her know that if she needs any help with that kind of stuff, I'd be happy to recommend a good outfit that I got mine from last time I was there.

Time Warp is actually really neat. Except when they do gross stuff. But I love when they drop things and film it in slow motion. I guess I'm dorky-er than I admit

I agree with you about the hip hop choreographer...2 separate groups of couples who didn't "get it"...well, then the problem isn't necessarily with them. I mean, the first routine where all of a sudden there was like a break down kind of thing and she was dancing on her own and then it stopped? Ehhhh :confused3 huh?

And Lil C...:rotfl: My bf started "dinging" everytime he used a "big" word. It's like he talks and inserts some words just to prove that he's educated. I don't get him. And I loved when he was critiquing the Tango couple (Philip?) and said how he shouldn't have bent his knees the whole time and Mary was like, ummm yeah, he should have. :worship: Oooooo, BURN! :rotfl:

Did you hear what they said to Brandon? Told him good luck 'cause Mia is doing the group routine tonight. That should be interesting. Though I did appreciate Lil C saying that he was wrong about Brandon. It's not easy to admit when you're in the wrong.

I like Sonya. I don't get her dances (really didn't get it last night!!) but I like her and when I do get them, I think they're fantastic :thumbsup2

And Debbie, thanks for the update! Glad to hear she's doing a little better

sorry to hijak!

I was confused on that too. I thought the routine was over and then they started dancing again. :confused3

Some choreographers do really well with working with the dancers and fitting the dance to suit them and other ones just seem to do their own thing and let the dancers take the fall.

I loved that too when she burned him. :lmao: There was one comment where my mom and I looked at each other and were like, what did he just say? :confused3 You don't have to use big words to prove you're educated, just know what the heck you're talking about. :thumbsup2

Did you hear what they said to Brandon? Told him good luck 'cause Mia is doing the group routine tonight. That should be interesting.

I did hear that. That's sucky for him. I wonder if she'll intentionally give him a crappy part or if she'll stick him in the back or what. Maybe she'll give him a really hard part thinking he's going to fail and he'll really shine. :cheer2:

Though I did appreciate Lil C saying that he was wrong about Brandon. It's not easy to admit when you're in the wrong.

I thought that was cool too.

Most of the time I really don't understand the contemporary/jazz dances. When I do get them, they really blow me away.

I really liked the Crash Test Dummies routine from last week with Kupono. That was cool. He did an amazing job.

None of the routines from this week really impressed me enough to really remember them.

Thanks for the update on Michelle.

I love Dirty Jobs! We also like Mythbusters but they can get very know-it-all, kwim?

 Stupid So You Think You Can Dance. Bad decision.

And who the heck was that girl who was singing??? She was obviously lip syncing...she was terrible!!
