Although I really want to stay concierge for my 5 year anniversary, DH and I agree that we'd rather stay for 12-14 days than only 8-10. We have annual passes so it won't be more expensive for park tickets. This way, we will have a lot of time to relax by the pool and enjoy the ambiance of the Polynesian resort. We're also planning a couple of off-property trips to Universal/IOA and Sea World (since we'll have a 1 year old and an almost 3 year old, we think they'll really like Sea World). We might even stay at Portofino Bay or Hard Rock Hotel for two nights and do the US/IOA stuff the first three days, then move to Disney for the last 11 days.

I actually think I will like this better. I loved my honeymoon that was 12 days long, so I think with a 2 week stay, I will really get a chance to "vacation" in the happiest place on earth. Our last trip was 8 days and just felt SO short!

I think its a great idea! If I had the choice of concierge or staying longer I would definetly stay longer. I also think staying onsite at Universal for a couple of days is a great idea. We always stay onsite there when we are in Orlando. We have stayed at the HRH and RPR and we loved both of them--plus you simply cannot beat FOTL access. They have great resturants at CityWalk.

Great idea! Concierge is nice, but JMO somewhat overrated, especially at Disney. My DW and I have done concierge, but during and after the vacation we questioned whether it was any better value. It's nice having the help, but honestly the concierge staff did nothing for us that we couldn't have done ourselves by just picking up the phone or talking to a CM. Given the not-so-occasional aggravations over food/beverage selections & availability, I'd rather spend my money on something else. For us, a longer stay would be infinitely more desirable than staying on the concierge floor. Here's hoping you have a super magical trip!

I'd go with the longer stay. Check all 3 Universal hotels. Sometimes the best available rate is PBH, the other hotels sell out of their discounted rooms quicker.

I think that is a great choice. Last March-April we stayed 15 days and it was wonderful. We had other people with us for the first 5 days, then the last 10 by ourselves. It was awesome.

Have a Magical time!!!
