For you off season visitors - would you not go at all if you couldn't go off season?

We are in the exact same situation. We are going in October this year but after that taking the girls out of school will not be an option as they both start work on their GCSEs in the next 2 years consecutively. My DH will absolutely ot consider going in the holidays (the price is one of the main reasons) and neither of us like the thought of the crowds (we have never seen Disney crowded and wouldn't want to).

However, if we want to have a chance of going at all in the next 4 years, we will have to bite the bullet and go in August. It's a hard decision to make - the thought of paying almost twice as much and not being able to see/do as much due to crowds is pretty off-putting. However, I honestly don't think I could go for 4 years without my Disney fix so watch this space

NO PEAK SEASON trips for me....plenty of other vacations to go on if you can't swing WDW in the off season. Crowds and 110 degree heat does not = a vacation to me.

ok - we are generally yearly visitors and always (except one horrific trip) off season visitors. the heat isn't really the issue for us, it's the crowds. WE HATE THEM. not so much the standing in line thing, as we are pretty good at fastpasses and such, but masses of people moving about. That coupled with the simple math of more people = more of a chance to come across a rude butt head. we have a very low tolerance for butt heads - we both work around them (him a cop and i work with doctors - sorry to the docs out there, but the ones i work with are very rude and egotistical) and that is why we keep choosing to vacation in a close to perfect fantasy land.

anyway - becase of DS getting older, taking him out of school is not so great anymore.

OK - fine. His school starts later in Sept, we will go in mid to late Aug, or very early Sept. (avoid the parks on labor day weekend and we should be set.)

BUZZZ - wrong answer! now he wants to play football. practices start in August. The first coulple of weeks are the most critical as that is when the coach determines their skill level and pegs them for a playing position for the rest of the season.

SO - now we either give up on my WDW obcession all together or i suck it up and go in June or July.

Part of me says i would rather not shell out that kind of cash to be there with all those crowds and have a not so great time. the other part of me says, any time is better than no time.

If you are a hard lined off season visitor - what would you do? any of you ever go in June or July and not hate it? is any time in June or July better than others or is the entire two months a sea of people?

We go off season with the exception of June 1990.
That year our children were done with school in early June so we went then and the crowds were not too bad.
Personally I would not to Disney any later during summer as the heat would bother me too much.
If you plan your day so you are at the parks early,
leave midday and return in evening the crowds should be more managable.

We are lucky enough to have jobs that allow (actually prefer) our off season trips to WDW. Until the kids (DD4, DD2, DS1) are in jr high/high school I think we will continue to do so. At that point...ack I don't know what we'll do.

We just can't fathom wanting to pay lots more $, to have hotter/sticker weather.....and share Disney with thousands more people...

Right now, If we couldn't go off season....we wouldn't go.

I am now a teacher so off season if out for me now. I dont care I still go. I was down in Orlando/Daytona Beach for President's week. I'll be back down in Orlando/Daytona Beach for week in April. I'll be back staying at DVC in November (during Jersey week). You do what you can do. No use crying over spilled milk or large crowds.

We're strictly off-season, which was my point in starting the F&W fest. thread regarding this subject. We love the F&W fest but it is having the negative effect of making this time of the year not so "off-season" anymore.

I think another post mentioned why go to WDW during peak seasons when there are plenty of other places to visit at that time that are not so crowded? Of course if this is the only time you can go then that's understandable.

One of our favorite trips was taken 2 weeks after 9-11.

Now having said all that we are going to spend Christmas at WDW for the first time this year, which is probably their most busiest time! We are extremely looking forward to it!

We are off season also. My favorite time is during the F&W Festival. But alas, the crowds are getting up there during that time, so this next visit for us...... ......DECEMBER I will be missing my F&WF but The Christmas decorations will be up, I'll get to do the Candle Light Processional and I'll get to see the Osborne Family Lights! Plus we are going around the second week and the rates are lower I'll just be missing my food booths...sigh

Oops, I went on and on...sorry, just love talking Disney!!

MY DH and I have been in July for our honeymoon, it was my first trip so I thought it was great but WOW the heat. Then we went in early June and it was so crowded and hot still, last year we went the last week of October and first part of November, it was GREAT. We were able to do MNSSHP, Food & Wine Festivle and the rides were not walk on but the most we waited was maybe 15 minutes are entire trip. But to anwser your questions we are going to try to go the same time whenever we go, but I would go any time if that was the only time I could go.

we really don't have a choice, my dh owns his own business and his only "down" time is Jan or Feb. i would love to go during christmas to see the decorations but it just isn't possible...at least until we retire

while i'd like to be encoraging, we went our first trip in July ( idiots i know) and the difference between then and off season( our sane decision) is so great I am having a hard time sucking it up to go in kind of off season Nov. crowds are my big thing but heat also affects me so no, i'd never go in July again ever, even if it were free( well maybe if it were free....)
