OK, it's like this, I am missing my time of month, have to intimate contact with anyone so we know that isn't why. My mom past away 7 yrs ago so I can't talk to her I am so confused, I flip out easy. Cancelled my trip and just rebooked it today, only for 5 days not 5 plus 2 but still going concierge at BWI but afraid that I will lose it again, I can't get an appontment for the gyn till Nov. so I am in a fog about what my body is going through. Is it normal that I cry at the drop of a pin, I can't handle lifes uos and downs, I am so confused

Woah...take a deep breath. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking.

You've missed your time of month, but haven't had sex with anyone, so you can't be pregnant, right?

Well, then, there are still a million reasons you can be late. Stress, change in diet, body just decides not to cooperate.

If you can't get to your OB-GYN until November, and are really worried, try to go to a clinic for an emegency appointment. Also, if you are having the emotional issues, see if you can make an appointmetn with a therapist. It probably isn't normal to be experiencing the ups and downs you are describing. Good luck!

What about the big M? Menopause? I am only 34 and am experiencing hot flashes and night sweats. I don't cry at the drop of a dime because I won't let myself do that but could you be having a change of life?

Anyone?

First of all take a deep breath. That pretty much happens to us ladies some time or another. You did not mention your age but I know that at around forty, I started the mood swings,a missed one here and there, etc. Heck it could just be stress. Try and calm down. Our bodies do weird things sometimes.{hugs}mrsdash:grouphug:

Do not over react to this this just happened to my sister and all was well. Hot flashes and night sweats can also be an issue of thyroid problems. Maybe you should have that tested. I take Menopoise from GNC. This seems to help

Gail,

I miss mine sometimes due to stress. How late are you? Stress can make you very late, up to several weeks. You've been going through a lot, and your body is reacting. You're going to be okay, okay?

Call you doctor on Monday, just to be certain, because I think that will put your mind at ease and help a little bit.

You didn't give your age, so it's hard to determine if it might be perimenopause. You actually "start" menopause up to a decade before you "pause!" It's a gradual process.

I had the opposite problem. If I was stressed, I'd GET my period!!! Sometimes, they were only a couple of weeks apart!!!

I turned 47 in July

The average age for menopause is 51, but that means TOTAL menopause. Most women start having missed periods, hot flashes, etc in their late forties.

Sorry, sounds like you're joining the club. The good news is, it does get better...eventually.

STRESS can definatly do this! I've been there and it always ended up being stress related.

You poor thing! I'd much rather miss one than have to have an extra. :(

Plus, they were HEAVY, with lots of cramping!! AND, I'm allergic to NSAIDs (like motrin, ibuprofen, etc) so either had to take tylenol, aspirin, or narcotics. When I was in labor, and having my contractions monitored, the OB told me to tell him when my contractions were worse than my cramps. Several hours later (and after pitocin) I said "Now!"

Menopause was a relief, nightsweats, mood swings, hot flashes, anf all. And as I said, it does get better. ;) At 53, I'm "finished" and all without medication.

Ain't it fun being female Gail. ;) Like the others have said. Don't be so stressed out over it. It sounds like normal hormone fluctuations. But definitely see a doctor when you can. Write down all the questions you can think of too.

Oh my goodness, you all are describing me! I'm 36 and going through lots of these symptoms. It's perimenopause (sp?) which I can go through for about ten years according to my doctor. Not fun, but oh well what can you do about it....

GailT, hang in there! There's been lots of good advice here and I wish you all the best! :grouphug:

When I was in my late 30s an older friend had gone through the change by age 46. I thought that was SO early.

By the time I was 46, I would say that at least half of my friends at that age were already in the process of going through menopause or had finished.

It's perfectly normal, but you should see your doctor to see about alleviating symtoms that are causing you problems.

One of my friends who is the most normal, calm person that I have ever known tells about going to the OB/GYN and just sitting there sobbing and sobbing for absolutely no reason. The doctor understood completely.

agree with everyone else probably starting the big M I just turned 45 in July and my once clock work period has been haywire for a couple of years. Had some tests run all come back normal just the aging process. Mine started out where one month I might have had two periods and then the next none, and then the next maybe one, then maybe two again and so on. Last pring and summer I was having one only every other month this was in 03, I had one in october and then didn't have one until My ( I called my dr earlier this spring and they said it sounded like it was hormonal, but couldn't say I reached menopause until I went one year without a period) as the months went by I thought oh good no more periods, but then in May I had one and then had another in June, Here we go again I thought. But now haven't had one since June but willhave to wiat to see if I have between now and next June. The months I didn't have the periods I had night sweats, almost like clockwork 2 am and 4 am, now I get a hot flash during the day once in awhile and get night sweats, not really bad, but for someone that used to wear heavy flanned pjs all winter and never did this past winter it was quit a change. The two months I had a period this year no night sweats. Such fun being a women, and now my 10 year old DD is starting with definite body changes, I guess one of us stops and the other will start.

::yes:: The women in my family go through menopause really early, so that's what it sounds like to me.
