I am supposed to start my cycle the day we are leaving for WDW; any advice from any of you in the know about delaying it for a week. I know when I was going on my honeymoon, by gyn had given me some Premarin to take to avoid breakthrough problems. would this work to delay it & when would I need to start taking it for it to work? This is an anniversary trip, so I 'd like to be able to enjoy it without the usual discomfort. Thanks in advance!

If you are on the pill, just start a new pack the week that you are supposed to be off...
In other words, no break between packs - just continue with two packs in a row...
Have a fun trip!

if you're on the pill, you can skip the placebos (the dummy pills you'd take the week of your period) and go ahead and start a new pack-this would delay your period a month, but according to my ob/gyn, it's not dangerous. he told me i could do it for my wdw trip in september, which, like yours, falls the week i'd get my period. if you're not in the pill, perhaps your gyno would give you the premarin again? no matter what, happy anniversary! :)

I'm having the same problem. But I can't take birth control pills, they make me bleed constantly. The first week in Ireland will be fine but then i'm expected to get it. And the math adds up just right that the day I bleed like crazy (it's bad, but gyn says it's normal) I'll be sitting on a plane for 7 hours on the way home from Ireland. I'll have to move around every hour or so because if I don't (sorry tmi people) then it kinda plugs up and when I do move it literally gushes out and no matter the size of my sanitary napkin, it gushes out past it and everywhere. I'm so worried!!!!

Not on the pill. Trying to get pregnant! Also, intensified my pre-cycle headaches when I was on it for the first couple of years we were married. I guess I can ask my gyn about the Premarin. Thanks everyone who has responded!
