For those without cable TV, who do you use for your computer service?

We have Time Warner cable for our TV's and for our computer. I would seriously love to give up the cable TV because other than food network and local news, I don't watch the TV. I can watch movies and old TV shows on Netflix. But I am not sure what we would do about the computer - we need to connect to the internet somehow. :confused3

You should still be able to get Internet from Time Warner, even without cable. Save having to change e-mail contact information.

we live to far out of town to get DSL and dial-up was very unreliable, not to mention slow. Our only option is satellite. The price is ridiculous and you have to watch your band width if you have teens, but at least it's faster then dial-up. We have Wildblue and I haven't had any problems with service or customer service. The only other option in our area is Hughes Net and I've heard nothing but horror stories about them.

We gave up cable and use our Wii and Roku to stream internet tv. We use Insight for our internet because we don't have anything else available in our area.

We use Dish Network for tv, and Comcast for Internet. We pay $49 a month for Internet. It's the only thing available in our area.

When I didn't have cable tv I was still able to get Internet from Comcast. I was able to not sign up for a yearly contract so if I ever wanted to switch to dsl from the phone company I could have. But if you sign up for a yearly contract you might be able to get a discount.

I have my internet through our local cable company and DO NOT have cable. HOWEVER it does cost $49 a month like a PP said. It's not cheap internet.

We use DirecTV for our "cable"

For your cable internet combo package it may be almost the same amount of money to just have internet without the cable TV part. I would call them and ask them what the internet only will run you.

We used to have the bundle package with Brighthouse for phone/cable/internet but they kept going up by $10 every year.

We kept the internet with Brighthouse as they are the most reliable around here. DirectTv got our cable business.
