I almost goofed big time today. I found a sofa and loveseat that I fell in love with and almost bought. Then thought, you know, this isn't going to look right at all with the walls. What color is your couch?

I dont have mocha walls - BUT, I consider brown to be a neutral and can be matched with anything.

I particularly am fond of Pink & Brown, recently.... :sunny:

What color is the couch set?

Our walls are a light mocha color and our couches are olive. I was concerned when we ordered it but I'm happy with the way it looks.

I don't have mocha walls either, but I think I nice cream set would look nice...or maybe a soft, light blue? Especially with brown trim of some kind.

I have two couches that are pink. I hired a color specialist to come up with the wall color and she picked a color that I would call a light version of milk chocolate - mocha? My walls are sort of the color of hot chocolate.

My couches are kind of a muted rose pattern on a beige background that would almost pass for toile. Not a definite pattern that sticks out - just sort of rose and beige tones.

It looks great. I would have never picked this, but that's why I hired someone.

Mine are a dark green (I guess sage) with pillows that complement the wall color (a light but different shade) and palm trees on them whose color is complemented by the couch.

My sage may be everyone elses olive though--those colors seem similar. Maybe sage is too light to call it that. I dunno.

But green!

If you can get accessories that have your wall color in it--then you can pretty much match anything.

I like to keep warm colors though and not cool colors though.

ETA: My wall color is officially called cafe au lait--not sure if that is the same as mocha...I thought it was and that was why I responded.

I have mocha living room walls, and my couch is a multcolored plaid- brown, beige (like a wicker color) and rust stripes. I know it does not sound appealing, but it is great with the walls. I have beige accent pillows. I used to have black pillows but they attracted too much cat hair!

My walls are sort of a Mocha color (Benjamin Moore's Scarecrow if you want to look it up to see if it is close to your walls). I actually got the wall color out of one of the colors in the fabric for the furniture. Here is an ok picture of my living room. You can sort of see the wall color and the furniture.

Our walls are called Patagonian Sand - basically mocha.

Our couches are deep red. I didn't pick it out - my husband did when we were dating. I wouldn't have picked it myself, but I do like it. We have lots of black and white photography on the walls.

I painted my sister's living room "mocha", actually a deep sand, and she added the world's most beautiful antigue gold leather sofa to it and it is just breathtaking!

The furnishing should pull from the undertones of the paint. Mocha could have a yellow, gold or even a red undertone. Matching that tone brings out the beauty of the deep walls.

We have a sort of Wine theme going throughout our downstairs of our house. Some of the walls (most of them, anyway) are a brown mocha color. The couch is a sage green, and I have added some merlot color accent pillows to it. Basically, our whole color "motif" is mocha, sage, and merlot. I have gotten several compliments on it.

Good Luck - I like the PP other idea of red couches with B&W photos, too.

I have one wall that's a mocha color (the paint color was actually called "mocha") and two that are a butter yellow and one that's more of a squash color. I loooove the combination of the delicate yellow with the coffee color. We also have lots of red accents.

My walls aren't mocha -BUT if I loved the couch so much & the color I'd buy it & repaint the walls!
Can you bring a sample of your paint with you to the furniture store to match with the couch fabric choices they offer?
Remember your couch should last way longer than the paint on your walls anyway & they're MUCH cheaper to change....

Our living room walls are sort of a mocha color, I guess, maybe a little more of a really dark caramel color with a brownish undertone. Our furniture in there is also an olive color, with lots of gold and red accents on the pillows and lamps, table runners, etc.

Our bedroom walls, however, are a deep dark chocolate brown and I have a gold comforter set in there and it looks really really good. I also have some cream accents in there along with the gold . So if your walls are more of a chocolate color, I'd say go for gold.

::yes::

Wow! Lots of ideas. Thanks! Actually, the house isn't finished being built yet, so I'm way ahead of the ball game here. But, we're starting to buy some furnishings little by little so we don't have to fork out a ton of money at the end. The family room, dining room, study, hallways, all flow together, so I wanted something neutral in paint color that could be accented different ways in the separate rooms. I love the mocha color, coffee, hot chocolate, something along those lines.

The couch I had found was a suede-like taupe color, and we moved it up next to a mocha colored wall in the store, and it looked awful. I REALLY REALLY like this deep red couch that we saw and think it would look awesome, but we've got to find it in the setup that we like, so far we haven't. The kitchen will have alot of red in it, so the red couch in the family room would tie in nicely.

I initially wanted a couch and love seat setup, but it won't fit right in the family room. So, we're leaning towards a sectional now. I would have thought we'd have a harder time of fitting that in, but it works. :confused3 Here's something similar to what I want, but now got to find it in a color I like.

we have 3 mocha walls and one blue wall.

Our couch and chair are closest to the mocha walls and they are couch/ dark blue leather and Laz y Boy wing back chair/blue with small gold pattern.

I like the combo. :)

We just bought a merlot (deep red/burgundy) couch and love seat. It looks great with our taupe walls, but also would like nice with darker mocha walls, too. My son's room is painted mocha. I think the brand of our new couch set is Berkshire. It's microfiber (suede looking) and very easy to clean.
