For those with BIG cameras

I just purchased a Canon Digital Rebel & while I LOVE the camera it is BIG. DH thinks I'm going to really be complaining when it comes time to lug it around WDW. I really don't want to carry around a camera bag along with all the other stuff I have to tote around.... what do you use? I was thinking about getting a larger backpack to "throw" it in while I was on rides & such... any suggestions?

I have a big honkin' Sony Mavica and just use a padded backpackish thing to toss it into when I ride the rides.

I PROBABLY should be more careful with it but I'm not.

We also have a big camera. My DH carries a backpack and he puts the camera in a large ziplock bag so it is kept dry. We tried only taking it to the park on days when we had something special planned (Illuminations Cruise, Fantasmic, character meal etc), but we then found we would miss those Disney moments that happen when you least expect it. My DS and I have fanny packs and take as much as we can in them so DH isn't carrying everything. He sometimes even has the camcorder in it as well (also in a ziplock), but we only take it some days. We have looked into buying a digital camera, but you can't get the same kind of great pictures (dark, fireworkss, Fantasmic, far angles etc) as we have a long angle lens. Good luck.

We have the Nikon D70, and use a Tamrak backpack to carry it around in the park. Lightweight, well padded, water resistant and well made. We got our at Circuit City - it was $15 less than at the local Wolf Camera store.
