For those who think they've been to Disney[everything] ...

No, I have not been to his barn, and I don't believe that I had been aware of it, either, until now, thank you for the link, too bad it is only opened on the 3rd Sunday of each month, very odd hours, one would think that it would open at least every weekend, I cannot think of any other museums that have that odd kind of scheduling.
Anyway, I would love to visit, hopefully, the days will be extended for being open. Not sure if I can be there, to make the current schedule.

My 13 year old son (the railroad nut) would love that. He has researched Walt's entire history with trains. I'm surprised he hasn't asked to go there yet. I hope we're in So. Cal. on the 3rd Sunday of some random month to see it!

I am thinking I did not go in barn --but we could look into it. I have such a bad memory but sort of remember a shoe was being replaced or repaired on one of the horses. I do remember there being a BBQ in the Ranch area---- a long long long time ago -- thinking 20 + years. I wish they would bring it back -- eat out side checken bbq ribs and fixins --like being on a picnic.

There is a petting area now --If you are not looking you will miss the entrance :( Fun for little kids). I wish they would open it up a few days a week and offer information on how the animals are fed and cared for. But, it not the petting area is nice to:). Bring hand sanitizer -- for after petting -- I do not remember if I saw one there --- I am sure there is one -- but to be safe. :)

Never been myself, but have known about it for years. Adventures By Disney offers a tour of the barn as part of their Hollywood/Behind the Scenes Disneyland package. Sure wish I could afford that trip.

Wasn't Griffith Park on fire at some point this weekend? I have been to GP many times but can't remember if I have ever been to the barn. Is it in Train Town area? If it is I probably have if that makes sense.

Yep - It's in an area immediately East of the Travel Town Museum (this is just a couple miles from our house). There is a separate fence and lots of privacy landscaping, so you can't really tell it's there if you aren't looking for it when you drive past it on the outer road. The parking lot is just east of the entrance.

It's actually not the museum with the most obscure hours in town. The Forresty J. Ackerman Science Fiction Museum in Los Feliz, CA (on the other side of Griffith Park from Walt's Barn) is odder. You actually have to call Mr. Ackerman and make an appointment to be let in. He has the original robot from Metropolis and countless other historical sci-fi and classic genre movie treasures.
