Are the buses part of the SSR loop or do they have their own? Also what were your experiences getting around using WDW transportation. We are thinking of booking one at the 11 month window. TIA :thumbsup2

My understanding is that the treehouses are on a two-step bus system. They shuttle from the bus stops at the treehouses to a bus stop at SSR, where you change busses. The same for return. The treehouse busses basically are just an internal loop to the main area of SSR.

Also, if you don't mind walking a little, there is a pathway to the Grandstand section of SSR where there is a bus stop. Distance will depend on which Treehouse you are in.

I'll be there tomorrow, and will probably mostly walk to the Grandstand bus stop.

We stayed in the treehouses in October. THey were wonderful! There are 2 bus stops in the THV loop--we never waited more than a few minutes. That bus takes you to SSR, where you then take a bus to the parks. I should have written it down, but ask the THV bus driver--there are 2 stops, and it doesn't matter when you're going to the parks. But one is better for the bus back to THV...less chance of missing the shuttle as it's the 2nd stop. DH and I tried it out one night after they told us...I got right on the THV bus and DH had to wait for the next one. THe other nice thing, is that there was rarely more than 1 or 2 families on the way back, and the driver would drop us off at our door. :goodvibes

DO NOT take the CM's word about the boats! One even told us "There isn't any boat to the THV"...um, there's a dock outside our villa and we see them? It wasn't worth the trouble when we finally decided to ride it back from DTD.

We'll be staying there this May, so while at OKW back in October, we checked out the THV bus system. It seems that the internal bus comes at least every 10 minutes, to take you to the main SSR bus stop, so not bad at all.

We had a car in Sept. but noticed buses all the time. We also walked the pathway to the Grandstand section of SSR quite a few times and it's a lovely walk. 5-10 min. depending on your pace. :goodvibes

Bus system works well at THV, but if you really want to save yourself time then rent a car.

We just returned from a 5 night stay at the THV. We had one car, but with 9+1 people, we had to rely on bus transportation.

The only request I made was near the SSR walking path. The first THV they had assigned to us was as far from the path as possible (7003), so they found one for us that was the closest to the path as possible. In addition, it was right next to the South bus stop. Our decision was made each morning when we walked out of the treehouse. If the bus was there, we took it, if not, we walked to the Grandstand for the bus. I was leary about changing buses at SSR, but it was ok. There was always a bus monitor stationed there so we could find out when the last bus to our park had some.

I was told by the bus driver that the internal bus comes every 12 minutes. We could see the bus stop from the dining room window, so we could see a bus come and know when the next one would be there.

We really enjoyed the THV, and were surprised how spacious it felt even with 10 of us in there. We would definitely plan on staying there again.
