I am thinking of returning for our second trip to Disney in February. Not sure the exact date but it will be towards the end of the month (school vacation). I understand this is peak season and have a few questions:

For those of you who have been in February, tell me about the crowds? Do you wait forever for a ride?

What is the temperatures like this time of year?

Do you remember how late the parks are open?

I'm not that familiar with getting a "special deal" on room only reservations (which is what I will be doing) does anyone know about what time those codes come out, or if they even do?

I'm thinking of staying at the WL - I would love any input if you stayed there during this time of year.

Thanks everyone, this is such a great place :wave2:

Hi Trish,

Crowds President's Day week are very heavy over the holiday weekend but start thinning out by Tuesday and Wednesday.

February Orlando weather is very unpredictable. It could be in the 30s when you wake up or it could be near 80 during the day. Often both of those things will happen just a few days apart.

Here is a link that will show you park hours for the last few years:

Have fun!

Trish,
We went last year the last week in February going into the first week of March. It was fabulous. We are going again next year at the same time. We really lucked out and the weather was in the 70's and 80's the entire time. We didn't go on any of the major big rides as kids were too small at the time. But, we never waited for more than 15 minutes on anything (even Dumbo). It was great. That is why we are going back again next year during that time. We miss Presidents week and spring break isn't in full swing yet. I can't remember on discounts but I think one came out and we got it. This year we are renting points and staying at the BWV. So, very excited about that. I don't remember how late the parks were open exactly. I think MK was open til 7 or 8. AK I think til 5. Epcot I think 9 or something like that and we didn't do MGM that trip.

My husband and I went Feb 2nd - 9th 2004. I recall temps. being in the 70's and 2 days in the 80's. Never rained! One day it was 50 and very high winds. The wind chill must have been in the upper 30 or 40's. Our longest wait was for POC and that was 45 minutes. Most rides we walked right on!

If I recall correctly, the parks closed at 7:00 and 9:00. (MK was 7:00 and epcot was 9:00) We didnt go to AK so I can't comment on that. We enjoy going that time of year! 2006 we will be there in Jan!

Enjoy!

If you are going during President's week the best advice I can give you is - don't sleep late! If you get to the parks at opening time you can get a lot done before it starts to get really crowded.

We were there for President's week 2005 and the parks were open late the whole time (MK until midnight, or 3 am with the EMH). But we were too tired to stay that late.

Have fun@WDW!

Thanks for your replies so far!

Here is a dumb question, will President's week be the week of Feb. 13th next year? I will try to avoid that if possible.

If I'mnot mistaken I think Presidents week is the week of the 20th. Hopefully, someone can confirm this.

President's week is the week of February 20th--all WNY schools are off that week except for Buffalo. We went last year, crowded but manageable. Get the early start and you won't have too many problems.

We've been the last two years in early feb. (value season ends the 15th) and we've had the best time. The crowds are low, and the temps were awesome. Last year on our last day, it was cold, but a light jacket was fine for the daytime, a sweatshirt and jacket for night - the rest of the vacation was wonderful, temps in the 70's - 80's. We are going back in feb. 06 - see my signature!!! I'm planning it right now. I think you'll be happy with this time of year to visit, I personally love it!!!

We stayed at the WL last year during the first week of February. WL was very full. The temp. ranged from low 50's to mid 70's. I had a thick sweatshirt that I literally wore in every picture. The cool weather was nice!!!! The lines were usually 20 to 30 minute waits. MGM had a cheering competetion which made it unusually crowded. One reason for the crowds during our trip was Mardi Gras in the south. I saw eight families from my hometown...scary! Anyway, not sweating was worth it plus we flew down and saved time. Have a great trip! ::MinnieMo
