For those that booked 2007 cruises

We booked a Cat6 for Jan 13, 2007 (7 night Western) I don't have the precise figures here at work - but I know it was $10 LESS THAN what we paid for the same Cat6 for our Oct 22, 2005 cruise. Since both October and January are off season (and October even has hurricanes) we were VERY surprised to be paying LESS for 2007 after all the complaining here on the board!

pdarrah

Cheri - Could it be spring break somewhere else for the dates you are looking at? It varies across the country. Ours is the last week of March (the entire Chicago area is the same so airfare is insane to just about anywhere that week!)

Finally someone else who realizes that the prices in 2007 are not out of this world. I felt very good about the pricing in 2007 and was so pleased I booked a B2B in Feb 07 and beleive it or not the price has come down twice so I upgraded from cat 9 to cat 8 and it was less that I orginally booked for. When I can book a cruise for 1250 a person I'm pleased :cool1: :cool1:

I'll transfer these to DU after our Feb 06 Magic Cruise

A back to back Wonder cruise....Neat idea! An automatic CC double dip! My question is....Do you have to disembark for customs between cruises and reboard?...or can you stay onboard? We thought of doing a back to back before, but I had never heard of anyone doing it.

Lots of people have done a double dip on both the Magic & the Wonder. You can stay onboard during the turn over and are given areas to stay away from I believe. You could probably find several trip reports from DD cruises on that forum with alot more info. :)

4/21/07 Western Cruise 2 adults, 2 teens Catagory 11 $4235.
No Air/No Transfers - Straight Cruise.
We're going with a large group and we could not get a better rate. I searched at least twenty websites and so did my friend. Some would give us a better rate, and then when we inquired further, they did not include the taxes in their prices. The above is the regular rate DCL offers on their website, minus a discount that our TA took out of her commission.

Last year on the 4/24/05 3 day land/4 day sea cruise we paid $2800 catagory 11. I know THAT was a great rate. I was speaking with people on the ship and it seemed that we did get the best rate.

What's funny is everyone you bumb into and start a conversation with, everyone wants to know what everyone else paid

Booked for 9/1/07 7 nt. eastern on the Magic - CAT 8
2 adults, 2 teens age 13 and 15 at time of travel
No travel insurance or transfers
Total: $3,494 including taxes and port fees

I was fortunate enough to book in time to get a discount from my TA.

DH & I cruise the MAGIC 02-03-07. Cat 5, Deck 7 = $3,427.10. We will also get the $200.00 onboard credit.

DID we do good or should I be shopping around. I am new at this. Only cruised once before in Feb 2006. Re-booked the Magic while on the Wonder!!!

ANYONE????? :confused3 This INCLUDES transfers and insurance. This also does NOT include air fare but DOES include the 10% re-booking discount "onboard"!

Here is exactly what I paid and when I booked. Both cruises are identical - including the same stateroom (2 adults - 2 children) - just different sail dates.

Booked October 8,2005 on line with DCL.

Paid $4636 (Just Fare - Does not include tax, insurance, air-fare, etc)
Does not include $25 onboard credit I received.

Booked February 16, 2006 on board.
7 Day Western Cruise (Departing 3/10/07 - 3/17/07) - Category 8
Paid $4611 (Just Fare - Does not include tax, insurance, air-fare, etc)
Does not include $200 onboard credit for rebooking onboard ship.
Does include 10% discount I received for rebooking onboard ship.

Booked for 1 adult and 2 kids ages 3 and 5 on 9/29/07 Eastern Magic. Category 12 came to 2,799.00 for everything including flight from Cleveland, transfers and trip insurance. I thought that was a great deal! Couldn't pass it up. :Pinkbounc

We'll be in 6060, the same cabin we had on our West Coast cruise. The kids say they only want to stay in "our" cabin! :rotfl2:

Aren't kids funny!

Cash, the verandah dog, said the same about his BAV #6154...

Stateroom #: 5022 Cat10 secret porthole cabins

2 adults 2 kids we got a great deal through ****.com it was the LOWEST I could find, I got quotes from all over and they were the lowest...
$2800 total no ground transport, but we got insurance...

2 adults in 5024 $1616 / 2 adults in 5520 $1616

Great folks to deal with... I don't want to take away from any board sponsors, but the DU quote came in $400 more.. & no garuntee on the secret porthole cabins...

My Cousin, aunt, and sis-inlaw also got great deals... 3 cabins on deck 7 cat10
So we have 6 cabins total so far (you could always pm me for the agent...)

We have 2 adults, 3 children, always book Cat 4 w/verandah.

I was flabbergasted to find that we're paying LESS this year than we did two years ago.

In Feb '04 we booked thru our travel agent for a 7-day Western that sailed 02/12/05 and paid $7107 including taxes, but no transfer or airfare. (I'd priced in early Jan of that year and if I had booked at that initial pricing it would have been $500 cheaper.)

Last week we booked thru our travel agent for a 7-day Eastern that sails 02/03/07 and are paying $6451 including taxes but no transfers or airfare.

I can't figure out why it's so much cheaper cuz we're only going a week earlier in the winter than we did the first time, and I'm booking only 10 months prior as opposed to the 12 months the first time. Go figure!!

Both times I was glad I had my Disney Rewards Visa. We got $50 onboard credits for paying the deposit with the card and they also have an offer for 6 months free financing when you use it to pay your balance. Plus, the obvious perk of being able to apply any reward dollars earned toward the onboard bill for fruity frozen drinks or excursions.

I also found it can be thousands of dollars cheaper to go during a week when there's no potential for a school holiday (including the one-dayers like presidents day and memorial day). Last cruise we had a strategy of picking a week when the Presidents Day 2-days-off-school holiday immediately followed our return home and that was perfect cuz it gave some extra days to adjust back to our normal routine and for the kids to catch up on the school work they missed whle we were gone!

I booked October 13, 2007 Eastern thru Costco. It was $5530 for 2 Category 8 staterooms, including tax, port charges, and trip insurance for my family of 5 (kids 12, 10, and 7). That's about $100 less than we paid for 2 category 11 staterooms in November 2005!

I expected the prices to be much higher so I was thrilled!!! :cool1:
