For those of you doing FT package how many are adding on Silver?

Do you think it's worth it? I love the idea of not having to budget food!!

Has anyone done the silver before, how did you like it?

And finally how are you going to use it?

Thanks!

We have used the silver plan on our previos two trips. We love it, but it is a little extra work. We use it to pay for all our meals and we usually come out ahead. We really enjoy the sit down restaraunts and use our wishes for a sit down lunch and dinner every day. If you don't enjoy long meals or if your not a big eater it may not be the plan for you.
Basically you pay $33.50 a wish. If you can't spend that much on a wish you are losing money.
This year we are going to take some tours using wishes, they run about $50.00 each so we come out ahead.
If you use a wish for a buffet thats only $20 pp you lose some money.
If you don't use all your wishes by the end of your trip you lose them and the money you paid to get them.
If you can get your moneys worth out of it, it's great.
Hope this helps:D

Hi..

I had never thought of using the silver plan before - I am staying in concierge so I have breakfast and snacks...

With what I saved on the FTP I could add the silver plan for the same total.

Questions - can you dine at any restaurant - (ie) California Grille, Le Cellier, etc..?

I imagine Hoop Dee Doo and Spirit of Aloha are out?

Thanx

the agent told me that dinner shows are in.

I was planning on HDDR, Aloah, CG, and anything else expensive :)

All sit down restaurants in the parks and hotels are included. (None at the Swan & Dolphin are included) Some restaurants take 2 wishes. I think they are, Cal Grill, Yachtsman, Citrios, Narcosee's, Coral Reef, Bistro Paris, Artist Point, Fultons.
The Hop Dee Doo and the Luau are only one wish!!!
If you like to eat this is the plan for you.

I originally had it included, but I took it off. Our grandchildren are will be 10, 7, and 20 months when we go, so I was afraid we would feel we needed to "force feed" outselves. Because they are so young, we couldn't do the tours or a lot of the other activities.

We are using the Silver Plan for the first time. If you have concierge level accommodations with the sliver plan you can actually come out ahead. A very nice CM told me to get the Silver only because of the concierge, she talked me out of the platinum and said it would be a total waste of money and said the Silver + Concierge is a perfect plan. We will be using our wishes on sit down dinners: CG, Bistro, Narcoossees, Citrico's which use 2 wishes each. For us it works out, no kids and love these restaurants, and would have dined at them anyway. It's on an individual basis - for us its great! Also the Special Viewing for Spectro and Illuminations is a nice touch as well:D

We did not get this plan. For a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) we can certainly eat for less than $241 a day. DD eats very little, so spending that much on her is just crazy. I have a feeling it will be a great plan for ds some day, but never for dd! LOL!

Are the "wishes" the same price for kids as adults? I thought I read in a trip report that you can pay for your kids meals and use their wishes...is this true???

My mom and I are taking a girls only trip in October (we were originally going in November until the Fairy Tale Package came out) and we added on the Silver Package.

We went last year and did the Silver as well, we really liked it, I think for adults it is a good idea, maybe not so much for kids, since they can't pack it away like we can!

We used it mostly for food, we would eat an early lunch and a late dinner, it wokred out good cause it was paid for in advance, and we only had to bring money for extra's.
We also used a wish for the Hoop De Doo.
We ate at Alfredo's for lunch twice and both times they really pushed alot of food on us! Our LUNCH bill ended up coming to over $200.00 for two!! I think we made our money back on that one!!

Since we were going to use the plan for a week in November, I figured the savings we get from the Fary Tale Package brings our wishes down to $29.00 each!

We are using it for the first time. With 3 boys who eat and eat it will be well worth it. We are also going to Cirque de Soliel. My youngest collects pins so he will be using one wish on the pins...this works out well for him.(Landyard plus 3 pins of your choice) You can use it on the Fantasmic Package too. I called about that and for the 5 of us it would cost nearly $170 for the package-only one wish on the silver plan! Most of all I like the fact we don't have to worry about food...it's already been planned and paid for.

Kids are $57 or $59. If you have younger kids it may not be worth it?!?
Hoop dee doo is part of the plan...that is our first night meal!

Kids (3-9) $54, Jr (10-17) and Adults $67

Kids must choose from kids menu. Jr., from what I have been told, do not. They may choose from regular menu.

We used the Silver Plan (Discovery Magic back then) for 14 nights in December and loved it! I agree that it is probably best for adults, or families with older children. We used wishes for Cirque, 3 behind the scenes tours, Hoop de Doo, the AK clock, the picture frame (last day wish burning purchase), and ate at lots of great restaurants. We found that the one-wish restaurants were much easier to get your money's worth at than two-wishers. Back then Artist Point and Jiko were only one wish restaurants though. Ahh...

We went on the silver plan in March with 2 adults and 2 teenage sons. All of us enjoy good food and like to eat. We generally ate Pop Tarts in the room for breakfast and snacked in the parks for lunch so most of our wishes were used for dinner. We were charged $68 per day. Meals included tip and tax - ie a $34 wish is equivalent to about $28 of food. Overall impression - loved not thinking about the cost of what I was ordering, enjoyed lots of great food and recreation, would do it again.

As others have said, nice sit down 1 wish dinners are the best - and they often offer you lobster tails or other add-ons. Yum. The 2 wish restaurants are really not the most bang for the buck - but the 2 we ate at were our favorite meals on the trip. We went on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour and to La Nouba - both real wins in terms of $$ (and we loved them!).

I kept careful records for our 8 night trip. Here's my info. All meals are dinner for 4 unless otherwise noted:
Boma, would have cost $116.59, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
Wolfgang Puck Cafe, would have cost $247.70, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
Hollywood Brown Derby (Fantasmic package), would have cost $248.20, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
'Ohana, would have cost $140.85, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
Marrakesh lunch would have cost $138.90, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
Chefs de France, would have cost $203.95, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
Boma breakfast, would have cost $80.13, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
California Grill for 2, would have cost $120, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
Rainforest Cafe for 2, would have cost $103, 2 wishes ($68 in wish cost)
Keys to the Kingdom Tour for 2, would have cost $116, 2 wishes ($68 in wish cost)
Water Mice for 2, would have cost $44 , 2 wishes ($68 in wish cost)
Parasailing for 1, would have cost $85, 2 wishes ($68 in wish cost)
La Nouba, would have cost $305.28, 8 wishes ($272 in wish cost)
Portobello Yacht Company, would have cost $254.02, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)
Jiko, would have cost $191.55, 8 wishes ($272 in wish cost)
Le Cellier lunch, would have cost $126.95, 4 wishes ($136 in wish cost)

Would have cost $2522.12 total. Used 64 wishes which cost us $2176.
